I disagree. I think Gleason is much more valuable as a puck moving defenseman and at times a one-man breakout. He, like Genoway, is much better suited at creating offense from the back-end than upfront. His skating is a bigger weapon on D and I for one am looking forward to a full year of Gleason in his natural position.

Looks like he has recruiting visitis lined up for Michigan, Miami and Notre Dame and Minnesota is after him pretty hard as well. I would guess he ends up at Minnesota but it looks like a nice recruiting battle heating up just not sure if we are in on it or not.

Any one know anything about Alex Kerfoot? He's a top rated forward out of the BCHL that is currently uncommitted. The only thing I've heard is that BC is holding a scholarship for him.
-
I think this is where Brad Berry needs to work his magic. His first test back in the recruiting world.
-
I do remember Hak being there last year now. I was just thinking that it may be something new after what happened after the draft last year. I guess not though. Glad to see where Schmaltz went though.
-
Anyone know if Dane or any of the UND coaches were at the draft last year? I don't remember and am wondering if this is something new since the JT Miller situation last year? Just another way to make sure their player makes it to campus?
-
Any recruiting rumors out there? I am wondering how much the hire of Berry helps in landing who I presume to be our biggest recruiting target currently in Ian McCoshen?
-
I believe Colby Genoway played a few games as well and that is why he sat out his first year here and only had 3 years of eligibility.
-
I believe the items in color reiterate what I posted yesterday and the fanbase will understand the reason for the change.

During an interview, Hakstol didn’t get into details about the new roles and duties that Eades didn’t fit into, but he added: “I hope at the end of that hiring process that will answer your question in terms of what I would like to address. I don’t think it’s fair to get into that today at the front end. The result itself should answer that question.” I heard this weekend from a good source that we have found our guy and the quote above holds true. I don't think it will be a big surprise to anyone around here.
-
Really than why did Blais give Hak his endorsement to take over for him?
-
Not to criticize St. Clair in anyway as I respect what he had to do last year after being screwed by the NCAA, but he was an early CC commit that bailed and committed to UND after playing in Fargo.
-
I never saw the box scores only was told by someone else. Obviously he was wrong. Glad to see he at least generated a few shots.
-
I think the most telling stat is the fact that he had 0 shots on goal in those games as well. I sure hope this doesn't stunt his development as I like most everyone here knows is that he has a long ways to go strength wise to compete at the NHL level. I sure hope his family pushing too early doesn't ruin him as a player. I think this happens to many players that leave high school for the USHL too early (i.e Mike Fink).

I think next years team could have many different line combos based on the fact that they will be so deep at the center position. Knight, Rowney, Grimaldi and O'Donnel are all really good centers that are in our top 6-7 forwards. So I would presume at least one will play wing next year. Also, I think many are underrating the value Rodwell will have on this team. In no way do I see him as a healthy scratch. He will be a valuable 3rd ro 4th line guy that will be a solid penalty killer for this team. It will certainly be nice to have some options as opposed to this year thoough.

I was told last night that Danny's decision was made a few weeks back but Montreal wanted him to wait to talk with him before he announced it so that is why the wait. Also from what I understand Nelson was quite happy and content to play one more year here but was pressured by his family, especially his grandpa Bill Christian, to sign. I just hope signing too early doesn't ruin him. He certainly didn't get off to a good start with his few games in the AHL. I sure hope he has a huge summer in the weight room.
-
Just off the top of my head I know that Minnesota played at BU in there. They opened up BU's new rink.
-
I would say zero. If Faison didn't know what kind of coach he had before "the timeout" he should be the first to go.
-
Thanks for clearing that up. I always heard the Oklahoma tribes were against the use. Either way I find it hard to believe the NCAA would have gone hard after a school like Florida St that generates them so much money.
-
From what I understand about the whole Florida St situation, other than the fact that they make the NCAA millions, is that the Seminole tribe in Florida approved the use of the nickname but the main Seminole tribes are in Oklahoma and they are against the use. Since the Seminole tribe closest to the university approves the use, the NCAA is ok with it. Someone may correct me if I am wrong.
-
How about Jordan Schmaltz? He opened up his recruitment when Osieki? left Wisconsin for the Ohio St head job.
-
I'm definitely dissappointed and surprised that Brock decided to sign. I don't think he is ready but the last skinny sophomore I said wasn't ready for the NHL hasn't played a game in the AHL in his career(Travis Zajac). So I guess I could be wrong. Best of luck to you. I don't think Blood was able to talk to him before he signed with his feelings.
-
I had the same feeling as you on our goalie situation for next year. I was thinking the log jam with 3 good goaltenders could cause us to lose one but now I see that won't be the case. On Nelson like most everyone else on here, I think one more year would have suited him well and after next year Hak would have driven him to the airport himself. He has great talent but not enough strength for the next level yet. There were many times this season where he was still manhandled and easily knocked off the puck. One more year at UND and I think he would have been a shoe-in to be UND straight to a top 6 forward for the Islanders. I guess that could still be the case but he has alot of work to do this summer.
-
Glad someone finally mentioned this. Nelson was a center his whole life until this year and it wouldn't surprise me to see him centering the second line next year. He was put on wing this year due to us trying to find one dominant line. But it looks like we could have an abundance of centers on next years roster with Knight, Nelson, Rowney, Grimaldi, O'Donnel. Not a bad problem to have though.

All I can say is that the best hockey tournament in the country has way too much hostility between fan bases. I have been going to the Final Five for 6 years now and the hostility seems to be growing worse every year. It amazes me that so many people can't enjoy beer and great hockey without all the hostility.
