On the Les Reaney guy. You don't recruit guys by stats. That is all Woog did and he never won the big one. None of us have seen this kid play and I trust the coaching staffs judgement on talent. If he is so good how come no one else is banging on his door. Maybe the coaches feel this guy has peaked and will be a 3rd or 4th liner or he is not fast enough for WCHA hockey. Maybe we are recruiting him who knows for sure. You cant take all top scorers you need role players also. We have probably the best recruiting class in years coming next year. TONS of FIREPOWER. lets leave the recruiting to the coaches. And I like Drew Fisher for a year or two down the road.

Who are other players (not commited) that have looked good at State tourney. I liked that #28 a young defensemen from Duluth East. That Holy Angels guy #16 (Barribal) looks pretty good and he is only a junior. I like Drew Fisher too. -
One thing Sioux fans can be happy about is we have the best 3 players at the state tourney this year. I was worried about Vandevelde, but after his performance last night, no need to worry. Cant wait to see him tonight. Lee is in another league compared to the other highly ranked defensemen at the state tourney (Niskanen, Hummel, Connley). All three guys are showing why they are up for Mr. Hockey.

Maybe the rowdy envirnment he seen at the Ralph was when Eaves was beating on Alex Leavit.
-
He is already in the Pro's and he is doing great. He is currently in the TOP professional hockey league in North America and maybe the world.

That article on moorhead also included something Sioux fans will laugh at, check this out. the Spuds averaged 1,347 fans per home game this winter. Though that figure is still well below the actual average paid attendance -- Hulbert estimated 90 percent of season-ticket holders were regulars at boys hockey games -- it was more than the NCAA Division I North Dakota State University men's and women's basketball teams until Saturday's doubleheader against South Dakota State.

The Frozen Four is in Milwaukee next year. How convenient for recruiting a hometown boy. I see Kessel in Red.

Moorhead and Warroad could pull off a section 8 sweep. That was close to happening in 1999 when Roseau won "AA" but EGF lost in "A"championship. Minnesota state tourney is so good that both Warroad and Moorhead could lose first round. In class "A" I think it will be Warroad or Totino grace. "AA" could be Moorhead, WBL, Duluth East, Jefferson, Holly Angels. I wish the future Sioux Good Luck and I want a section 8 sweep. I predict Oshie will win Mr. Hockey, I think they announce that on sunday. -
To make any run UND will need both Parise and Lammy. The Duluth series will probably go 3 games and you may want to play both goalies. But if we beat Duluth and play in the final 5 play in game and win, you will have a 3 game weekend again and you will need both goalies. Thats why you dont want to play in that play in game, you could play 6 games in 9 days. Our goalie situation is looking good. How do our friends down in the cities feel about there goalies.

The Building is way to big. How many sell out were there last year when we had one of our best teams. When it is inconvenient for out of town people and students (during breaks) the crowds are smaller. People forget the old Building always had empty seats unless we played Minnesota.

Last regular season games for the seniors. Hopefully this inspires them and they all step up BIG. To bad about Brady. He could of been the best player in college hockey this year, but he caught the sophomore jinx.
-
Last year in Madison it was ALL Wisco'c goaltending that beat the Sioux. Not their boring Minnesota Wild Hockey System. Also. the Sioux goalies had their worst weekend of the year. They were awful. Hopefully this year in GF it will be didfferent. We Need POINTS.

To answer yepdudes question about why Matt Greene was upset vs. Denver is because the refs didn't call penalty when there should have been an obvious interference penalty at the Sioux blue line and Denver proceeded to score. Instead of Sioux Powerplay it was a DU goal. Big swing in the game.

Pelawa was a 1st round draft pick by the Calgary Flames and would of played with Hrkac and Joyce in "87"

Maybe it's the team that uses the same jerseys as Minot

I dont think Minnesota should get a number one seed or should care about getting a #1 seed, because they are on their home ice. I know they would get a little easier game, but the main thing is they are on their home Ice, like we finally will have the chance to do next year.
-
How come Minnesota keeps LOSING and LOSING and LOSING to BAD teams and it drops in all the polls, except the pairwise. They must have created this system. They get all the regionals at home, Final 5 in their back yard, I suppose by next year they will figure out a way to get a buy to the title game.

Once again the GF Herald was lazy and didn't have any special articles. The only one with an easier job than Virg is a weatherman. He writes 3 articles a week and once in a while he goes to a high school game. His Sioux hockey coverage has really decreased. I wonder if he goes to the games anymore. Don't they want to sell more papers. Like when that midget tourney was in town they could have listed scores and box scores. How about writing an article about Shattuck and let people from out of town think that we are a hockey town. There was alot of people in town during that midget tourney and it was embarrassing that there was no coverage.

Maybe the new logo is a curse

I know this is a huge long shot, but if Wisconsin loses 5 of 6 and we win all six games remaining, we could tie them. They have a tough schedule. I know the chances of this happening aren't very good, but if they get swept this weekend and we sweep AA, next weekend could be really interesting.

I know that I am UND biased, but they could have had a little story about the Sioux connection. 4 former players; Parise, Boechenski, Roche and Dane Jackson was an assistant coach. At least they could have mentioned that Parise and Boechenski were reunited, after all they were both Hoby finalists. I bet if one of the Boston Schools or Michigan would have been represented like that, thats all they would of talked about. Once again poor coverage by ESPN. I think the Students from CC must have been running the cameras. If ESPN would hype the college players, it would help college hockey and probably increase the NHL following in the states. In football and BBall everyone knows the great ones before they get to the NFL and NBA. If they realized how many great college players there are it MAY create more interest. And I doubt our GF hearld will cover it at all either.

My condolences to Coach Hakstol and his family and close friends. I am sure this has been very tough on him. My sympathy goes out to him.

Would any of the other games fill the Betty. No no no no. The only reason that game was over was because it was a reunion or celebration of Sioux Basketball. And there was no 5,000 people at that game either. Go back to the Betty were there would be atmosphere. I bet the bb coaches would rather play in the betty. We will se the attendance this weekend. I bet they don't get 3,000 per night.

When team USA adds players like Chroney, does someone who is in the Ann Arbor program stay home or is it for players that have left or got injured? Zack Parise was always added to them teams. If they need to add players makes you wonder why we need them Developmental programs in the first place.
