  1. Say it ain’t so, Doc! Mike “Doc” Emrick, the incomparable Voice of the NHL, Monday morning will retire, as per a shared announcement with NBC Sports. Emrick, 74, rose from calling college and minor league hockey radio broadcasts to develop an enthralling style that emphasized superior, often mesmerizing play-by-play: Original on-the-fly, bull’s-eye descriptions; a great knowledge of the game; current and past anecdotal info, timed to perfection; strong, warm relationships with his color analysts; and a modest charm that radiated as real. He forced nothing. He just knew how to know. https://nypost.com/2020/10/19/mike-doc-emrick-retiring-from-legendary-nhl-broadcasting-career/
  2. John Evans, president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, told Fox News that Biden's suggestion is "absolutely ridiculous" and "incredibly ignorant." "The guy's clueless," Evans said. "And I know he's just trying to appease his left-wing base but it's a really foolish statement." https://www.foxnews.com/politics/police-rip-bidens-advice-to-shoot-suspects-in-the-leg

  9. Watching both Townhalls tonight brings many questions to my mind. One is why in the heck did the “non-partisan” debate commission cancel tonight’s debate? What a joke. And based on energy levels I have to wonder which one of the two candidates is recovering from COVID? One is vibrant and energetic and the other is listless.
  10. Scully appeared to seek advice on Twitter last Thursday from a prominent critic of President Donald Trump, and then denied it. The C-SPAN host, who had been scheduled to moderate this week's presidential debate before it was canceled, admitted he lied about sending a tweet to former White House adviser Anthony Scaramucci, "for which I am totally responsible." “Out of frustration I sent a brief tweet addressed to Anthony Scaramucci,” Scully said in a statement. “The next morning when I saw that this tweet had created a new controversy, I falsely claimed that my Twitter account had been hacked.” "I apologize," he said in statement. Scully had asked Scaramucci, via Twitter, “should I respond to trump.” The tweet ignited criticism from Republicans, who questioned Scully's potential fairness. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/c-span-suspends-host-steve-scully-after-he-admits-to-lying-that-his-twitter-was-hacked/ar-BB1a4mYN?ocid=spartan-dhp-feeds
