  1. For round one, 63% of people chose the CBS line. 83% of those people are moving on. 37% of people chose someone other than the CBS line. 14% of those people are moving on. Based on statistics, I'm going to go with Caggiula for next Friday
  2. I was surprised to see Sanderson replace Gersich, but that was the most dominant I've seen the 4th line this season. They seemed to have good chemistry, and I noticed several times when they were just cycling away in the offensive zone. Brad and Jayson made good points in the chat about Gersich sitting...he hasn't been producing the past month, and maybe the coaches sat him because they expect more out of him. Either way, having Sanderson in there wasn't a bad thing, especially since he's a quality PKer. LJ drives me nuts with his stupid penalties. A tripping penalty on the end boards of the offensive zone? Definitely not needed. The CBS line continues to amaze me. Schmaltz stole the puck several times by catching up behind someone on the backcheck, including on Cags goal. Boeser's awareness to dive onsides plus the subsequent goal. In addition to Caggiula's snipe, there were many other times when he drove hard to the net to create chances. I'm thrilled Pogo is getting his groove back. The first few weeks of the season, I couldn't believe the improvement from last season. Then, he kind of disappeared for awhile. Maybe it's just a matter of finding good line combinations. I also think this was Chyzyk's best game in awhile. He seemed to have some decent chances. There was one shot that he batted out of midair, but it went just wide. I like JJ as a top 6 forward. I think he has the skill and tenacity to be up there, and he's significantly more noticeable in that role. I didn't expect a sweep, and I certainly didn't expect a sweep in such decisive fashion. This season is fun
  3. Maybe innovative wasn't quite the right word to use, but Hak definitely adapted, which is not something he often gets credit for. Just look at Montgomery's quote from earlier in the week about how DU had studied UND's PK last year prior to the series. DU's first powerplay went well, so Hak changed the PK system in the middle of the first period. DU's second powerplay was completely stymied.
  4. Exactly. Let them be the hockey reincarnation of the 2007 Patriots. I'm fine with being the Giants in that scenario.
  5. I'll take Boeser. Interested to see the % of picks the CBS line takes the first three rounds...
  6. Have to think the CBS line is improving Drake's chances to sign a contract at season's end. There was an offensive zone play in the third when he had the puck with two DU players right on top of him. Drake fell to the ice and still stick handled away from the DU players while managing to get back up and get a pass off. It was unreal.
  7. You answered your own question as to why teams would do it.
  8. Christian Heil out 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle. And the times just keep getting tougher for CC...
  9. I wouldn't say never, since Sanderson absolutely lit someone up at center ice last weekend. But, yes, he looked very lost and slow last night.
  10. Just sloppy play this game. We're lucky Michigan State is not very good.
  11. Yeah, he's definitely not having his best game.
  12. If this proposal passes, I wonder how it would effect hockey player graduation rates. I don't think schools will actually stop bringing in 21-year-old freshman. That means that freshman only gets to play 3 years of college hockey. Does said player stick around for their senior year of college and pay their own way to get a degree? Doubtful.
  13. That's a great, informative collection of tweets right there. Thank you for posting.
  14. Anyone know the reasoning behind the Friday/Sunday game schedule? Do they schedule around football?
  15. Nice center ice check by Sanderson. Who said he doesn't finish any checks?
  16. You might want to change this one quick, Blackheart. I don't think he's going to score from the stands.
  17. That's if Haviland himself decides to stay for the possible turnaround. I remember looking at his experience when he first got the job...lots of 1-3 year stints at places. As someone who moves a lot, those tendencies always stick out to me on a person's work history. CC the lone winless team remaining in the nation.
  18. I expect Gwoz will already be at Wisconsin before Haviland is out. Eades?
  19. I wouldn't mind seeing them each play a game every weekend. The main thing Sanderson brings that Janatuinen doesn't is quality PK time. SCSU essentially had 6 minutes of straight PP to end the 2nd period, so having an extra PKer on the roster can be vital. Agreed that having solid D gives this line more freedom. I also think their speed and effort helps too. Those three are some of the best backcheckers on the team. I continue to be amazed at some of the defensive plays they make, especially Cags and Boeser.
  20. Though keep in mind that the 'FAQs' themselves are likely to randomly change at the discretion of those in charge of this process.
  21. I stll remember back when the NCAA started their nickname campaign, and I thought, "What gives them the right to judge what is and is not acceptable?" Technically, they may not have to sign off on the logo. But I still wouldn't put it past them to try and pull more sanctions if they don't approve.
  22. Agreed. A bird with feathers isn't an issue. A bird with feathers that remind the NCAA of Native American headdresses? Nope.
  23. Heaven forbid people try to bring some humor to the situation. It is actually possible to make a joke about the Fighting Hawks nickname while also realizing that any of the 5 nicknames left would have prompted the same and, at the end of the day, we'll support the University of North Dakota. A sense of humor and a sense of reality are not mutually exclusive.
  24. A few opponents' fans have actually said on twitter that they'll now call us 'the angry birds', so that logo is fitting.
  25. I actually didn't notice Caggiula much on Saturday until the third period. Then he became noticeable. I definitely agree about St. Clair. Our PK only gets better when he comes back.
