  1. Oh I completely agree. I just used Duncan as an example of sometimes it's smart to jump when you can.
  2. Duncan was a pretty good example of this. I was a bit surprised he stayed for his senior year, knowing his point production would drop significantly.
  3. If Luke Johnson can play throughout the season the way he played at the end, especially in the tournament, that will definitely help.
  4. I'd add Stecher to that list of possible flight risks, though I wouldn't be surprised to see him wear a letter if he does stay.
  5. Andy Kollar actually made a joke on twitter about that mistake. He said, "Oh wow. Just saw the highlights of the providence game. How can u let in a goal from that far away........Wait, Nevermind! Congrats Prov!" Gotta love that he can laugh about it now.
  6. Vandevelde was voted most improved on the Flyers squad. Matt Greene won the Kings award for most inspirational player.
  7. That was undoubtedly the most entertaining and enjoyable non-Sioux hockey game I have ever attended. As far as I could tell, every non-BU college hockey fan rooted for Providence. Sioux fans, Gopher fans, Wisconsin, Lake State, Denver...we all screamed and jumped around as if our own team had scored. Eichel is incredibly talented, but he's also a whiny little bitch. He threw several punches that he never got called for. We laughed and cheered with O'Connor's gaff, and I'm so happy Providence won that game. That being said, I can't even imagine how that kid feels right now. His name is trending on twitter because of his mistake. And after the game, he sat in his stall and answered endless media questions about that goal. I'd imagine it's going to take him awhile to forget that moment.
  8. I saw on Twitter that UNO has 3 student buses making the trip out to Boston. For a state that tends to only support Cornhuskers football and Creighton basketball, that's pretty cool.
  9. I think 800. UNO tweeted that their allotted 800 sold out in about 3 hours.
  10. Mike Matheson leaving BC for the panthers.
  11. My issue is that he changed his tune on it. It went from a very public "Woe is me, we're dreaming if we think Anas could possibly play" to "I will not comment on injuries or the line-up." when he thought Anas might play. If you don't want to comment on injuries that's fine, but be consistent.
  12. Twitter is all abuzz saying jr goalie Stephon Williams is ditching Mankato too.
  13. I agree with Red. What I don't agree with is him airing this all out for the public. By all means, tell the kid you don't think he's ready, etc. But ranting to the media about how he should have stayed crosses the line in my opinion.
  14. Considering Rocco missed almost an entire season for the same injury, there's no chance Mark is playing again this season. Let it go.
  15. We will crush the spirit of our enemies, see them driven before us, and hear the lamentation of their women.
  16. Every team in this regional lost their most recent game. The sioux just happened to have lost the last two. I picked the Sioux to win today in my picks, but I have a bad feeling in my gut...
  17. So if they play each other in the regional championship, do they still fly back together? #awkward
  18. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather crush BC in the final. But that doesn't fit with the General's Revenge
  19. Wisconsin was the host in 2008, so obviously they would be in that regional. I can't find who was the host in Worcester, but UND was a 2-seed. Miami, as an 1-seed, gets rewarded by playing against a non-host 4-seed who gets hometown advantage. That's getting screwed. Providence has no business being allowed to play in Providence, IMO.
  20. I wouldn't mind Sioux Falls as a regional site should the NCAA refuse to go back to campus venues. I just don't think it can hold up to an annual Frozen Faceoff.
  21. The problem with campus sites is that the event needs to be prepped ahead of time. Could you imagine planning for the Frozen Faceoff on the Omaha campus only to have Omaha not make it?
  22. I'm not saying the Target Center is the perfect option. I'm just saying I don't think Sioux Falls is the answer.
  23. Not necessarily. Teams that miss out on their conference tourneys often still do well. Teams that win 2 games of their last 11? Not so much... Brad mentioned in an article that Zombo may actually be back, but Harvard has been red hot lately.
  24. I think this is the key problem. Sioux fans who live in Grand Forks or the general area would fill it up, as perhaps would Omaha fans and the like. But for your average fans living in Minnesota, you lose out. You also lose out on a lot of long distance Sioux fans. Minneapolis is a reasonably easy airport to get to, whether you live in Phoenix, Denver, or Boston. But moving the tournament to a more rural location with a much smaller airport means that you likely lose out on a ton of those fans.
  25. If an NCHC team can't win it*, I'm rooting for Mankato or Tech. I think Omaha continues their Zombo-less slide and drops an egg in their game. *This does not apply to Denver. I hope they whoop BC and then promptly lose the next game.
