UND volleyball: Sioux to have new coach To go from being a VB coach at a school entering Division I to a position in another school's admissions department, seems very odd. Seems like someone's heart wasn't in the job. I wish her well, but

Has anyone heard if Bamba will be red-shirted this year? I just watched his hightlight reel again from last year and he looks like a very exciting player. I can't wait for the season to start.

Cuil came online today. The format is completely different from what search engines have been in the past. At first glance it seems to operate more like a sophisticated program, with drill downs, than other search engines. Here is an example of what it looks like for University of North Dakota. Pretty neat.

I can see the loss of these two men being a concern as to where UND ends up in the Great West, but what does that have to do with SUU? Are you saying that UND will finish last and that is why you don't see SUU at the bottom?

I like the content, but I agree about the voice.

Ms. Irle also has extensive experience in the S&D world, as the coach at both Fresno State and Tulane. I'm sure she has plenty of connections for scheduling and conference membership. Daniella Irle Profile

Did he ask to be known as the "very capable..."? I remember it like it was yesterday. When I was in elementary school, our school had no nickname and we had a contest to come up with one. One of my friends was a huge wrestling fan and thought the Lewis and Clark Crushers would be great, so all of the boys in the 5th and 6th grade voted for it. Somehow we ended up with the Lions. I don't think the faculty was supportive of his idea. By the way, his son now plays hockey for the Sioux.

One of my co-workers and I were just discussing watching wrestling when we were young kids. I still remember the day when I was about 6 when I learned from older wiser cousin that it was all fake. I didn't want to believe it, but when he showed me what was "really" going on, I had to accept it. Do you remember names like Verne Gagne, Haystack Calhoun, Dr. X?? Verne Gagne was one of my favorites. Enjoy....Lee Henning vs Verne Gagne

I live in the South, where Division I football is everywhere. Most folks call it Division I and I-AA. They don't call it FBS and FCS. No spite involved. I would venture to say that most people nationally don't call it FBS/FCS. It's just the way it is.

I give up. You win. You are going to keep this thread alive with troll food. Therefore, I'm going to lead the charge for UND to drop down to NAIA and eventually eliminate all sports at UND with my ulitimate goal to abolish sports on the planet.

A group of schools come together and sign a pact with a promise to abide by the pact for three years, the teams for these schools schedule each other in a number of sports, a won/loss system is put in place to keep up with which teams are doing the best and worst, at the end of the season a game or a series of games is held to determine which school had the best team in each sport, rules and procedures are put in place, a group of people in Chicago (the same folks as the Summit) oversee the operations of this group of schools and to assist in compliance with NCAA rules. This all sounds eerily similar to a conference.

Just poking around over at The BoardsRoom and found this. Nice list of celebrities coming.

What difference does it make to you what the GF Herald calls it? If it isn't a true conference in your mind, why is it bothering you? To those 'SU fans that are saying the GWC is the "same thing we had", why did UVU, NJIT and UTPA all hold press conferences claiming that they were in a new conference and how wonderful it is? This article claims that UTPA had been without a conference for 10 years. Did they not view their prior arrangement with NDSU as a conference? UVU views this as a big step according to this piece. Did they just not understand that they had the same thing with NDSU? As I've said before this is step 1 for UND and a probably a necessary step.

Six months ago I felt like UND had a unique opportunity with a new president and a new AD coming on board. I know that it is early to judge them, bu thus far I'm pleased with choices by both of the selection committees that chose Kelley and Faison. UND's membership into the Great West Conference is just one step along the way. Nice job guys. Not a bad first 10 days for President Kelley.
