So not only is he leaving us at the worst time possible, he is now going to raid the cupboards? I sure hope he doesn't take much.

I'm just glad that we fired Buning so that we could keep our top coaches happy and here.

DeBoer has a pretty impressive record at USF. Many successful seasons as the offensive coordinator before becoming head coach. And in his 3 years as head coach: 2005 National Semi-finalists 2006 National Champions 2007 National Runners-up

I don't think too many people say that the North Dakota high school tournament compares with the Minnesota tournament. But i think that most would say it is getting closer. Considering that Eastern North Dakota has been the king of hockey in ND for years(decades) but Western North Dakota is finally starting to catch up. Neither East Nor West may be there quite yet but North Dakota is certainly getting there.

Personally, I like the outdoor, horseshoe stadium better. What's the point of building an indoor practice facility for millions if we are going to have a domed stadium literally steps away? And the outdoor horseshoe leaves the train whisles, northern homefield adavantage and room for growth in the future. University of Montana Wash-Griz Stadium The thing that is great about Montana's stadium is how close it is to the field!

I'm at home visiting my parents for the holidays and I had to check online and see what the score of the UND/UIU game was. I was extremely happy to see that UND had just won it's 9th game in a row. And then I read further into the game summary and ralized that UND had just beaten a winless NSIC Upper Iowa team by 13 points. While I am extremely happy that the guys have won 9 in a row after starting out 0-3, I am still trying to figure out if we should claim a NSIC championship or a DAC championship. I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out how anyone could be against the move to DI. Especially for all of the people who are complaining about our schedule. All we have to do is look at the last 4 years and see why the move was going to eventually be a given. First off, When Morningside left I thought it was a blessing. Bring in UM-Duluth and the conference is stronger than ever. Brings in name recognition and a WCHA hockey school on top of it. But then UNC, NDSU and SDSU decided to make their move. Not a big deal, we will just find replacement schools. Winona has had football success. Unfortunately not against NCC schools, regular season or playoffs. Their men's basketball team grew into a national champion and runner up. But I can't imagine the casual Sioux football, hockey or basketball fan in Minot, Bismarck or Dickinson had WSU at the top of their NCC wish list (let alone knows who they are compared to SDSU, NDSU and UNC). Add on top of that the fact that once these 4 schools left, we had to look to the NSIC EVEN MORE for regional games in all sports. Alot of fans already hated to see NSIC games on the schedule. With the loss of these 3 schools, it was a given that we would see even more NSIC schools on the schedule. However, at the same time the NSIC was adding 2 schools itself (Upper Iowa and UMary for those who don't follow college sports as close). Not only do Sioux fans not want to see too many NSIC games on the schedule, with a fuller conference schedule in the NSIC and a smaller schedule in the NCC, it makes it even harder for us to schedule the few NSIC schools we want to. Enter the DAC. There is a reason we are now seeing more and more home and homes with NSIC schools that used to just come to Grand Forks for one game a year. Not to make this post any longer but the point is even though with our move to DI we may still be competeing with NSIC or DAC schools in basketball, baseball or volleyball for the next year or two, in the long run it will be worth it. (End of Rant! Go Sioux! Go Comets!)

Have they ever? Everyone should cancle their subscriptions to the herald and be sure to let them know why. It is getting sickening reading all of their biased "news" articles. Leave that for the editorial pages. I love Grand Forks. It's just disappointing to me that it has this as the daily news paper.

Apples to Oranges. They weren't just beginning a transition from DII to DI, we are. They are both established Big 10 schools, we're facing an unknown number of years of being a DI independant. They both have huge fan bases relative to UND's. If we were just looking for an AD that could be a great fund raiser, Blais would be one of my first choices. However, this transition is going to be very difficult and scrutinized by fans of not only UND but many other schools. I would just prefer that we look for someone that has a little more experience on the administrative side, book keeping and conference politics.

UW - 4 UND- 0 Final. Today's score doesn't show the effort the ladies gave as much as yesterday's 3-2 loss did. The difference in shots on goal looks to be the biggest concern that the team needs to work on. Both days you could see the difference in team speed start to show up about half way through the second halves. That is evident in the fact that UW scored 0 goals in the first periods, 4 in the second periods and 3 in the third periods of the weekend. Although, I do have to say that the team is playing together so much better than past seasons and the defense has definately stepped up in front of some very good goaltending. Unfortunately the offense just isn't quite there yet. Definately a tough weekend against the defending National Champs but the improvements are coming!

UW - 3 UND- 0 End of Second.

The herald already covered it's @$$. Just to make sure that everyone knows that they are not going to drop their anti-name stance they were sure to throw in this paragraph in the very beginning of the article. To that guy a few months ago that was mad people were saying the herald was blantanly against the logo and never runs an unbiased story, here is what we were all talking about. The herald could not write a single article that showed there are people who support the logo without throwing in a statement like this. They had to just drop it in there to create some doubt and make it sound like they were paid for their statements. From now on when they print articles stroking the ego of Ron, I expect a similar paragraph stateing that they did not invite any name-supporters to give quotes for the article. There is a reason I will never purchase a herald/forum or watch wday/wdaz.

Game 2 UW - 0 UND- 0 End of First.
-
Now this is the time that the entire arena needs to be ON IT'S FEET!!!
-
Penalty coming on the Gophers. Holding.
-
Our passes are horrible! Everytime we get a stick on the puck we create a bad pass or skate away without the puck. We can't keep control of the puck at all. And where are the hits? The guys look tired and like they have given up already.
-
Nothing like letting them score with 2 seconds left in the period. That is going to help the momentum.
-
Frattin had a big chance there but missed the back hand. That would have been huge and brought some excitement back to the building!
-
HAHA. I was trying to figure that one out too. So UM has won more games against the Sioux than they have even played?
-
OK. I have seen way too many passes that have gone directly to wide open Gopher players with no Sioux player in the area.
-
The guys sure didn't come out in the second period with the energy I had hoped they would. 3-1
-
No kidding. When they said that they were going to have Lennon on I was getting excited that we might actually get some news about the upcoming transition. Maybe confirm a game or two. Drop a hint about upcoming construction. Lennon had a HUGE audience around the region watching right now and they missed an opportunity to get people excited about football at UND.
-
How did they miss that off-sides?
-
That was kind of a sad PP.

Woooo Hoooo! That better count.
