Hopefully his decision making and accuracy is on point, otherwise the rest won't matter

Anyone know what to expect from the true freshman? How is his mobility, accuracy, and arm strength. Most importantly how is the mental side of his game?
-
Stuck at $3.29 here in Bismarck
-
He made a huge impact offensively for the twins. They were far more aggressive on the base path because of him and also were far more productive at the plate. He has been my 1st choice since Gardy has been gone. I just hope they hire a pitching coach that doesn't just teach this pitch to contact crap. Beyond excited that Rick Anderson is gone! There is no way Terry Ryan will ask for special permission for that, especially if it is an internal hire. Really no point in rushing it.

I remember Braden Hanson having a fairly week arm as well, but he made up for it with his accuracy and mental game. I am by no means saying Bartels will ever be anything close to that, just the same type of thing. I am just sick of seeing bad snaps and missed open receivers or overthrown passes. We aren't good enough to keep helping out the other team with that kind of crap.

Mollberg seems to have the size and strength to be the popular choice but at the end of the day we need an accurate quarterback that doesn't turn the ball over. Joe has certainly shown some improvement, but Bartels just appears to be a better fit for this offense.
-
I was saying let him watch a week or two and put in Bartels, thought that was fairly obvious. Bartels has always been more accurate and safer with the ball. He makes much more sense in this offense.
-
Based of what we have seen this year from Molberg, there is a reason why. He can't complete passes or stop the turnover problem, and holds the ball to long when he does throw. Right now he is like a lost puppy out there, give him a break as his head isn't there right now.
-
Molberg, it doesn't matter what you draw up if the quarterback only completes 2 passes the entire game. There is constantly 8 or 9 guys in the box which for a bad offensive line makes life awful. We don't need to be a great passing team, but you do need to complete enough to keep the defense honest. Until we can consistently complete a pass our running game will always be trash.
-
The real question mark I have always had is if Molberg is even a fit for an offense like this. If we are trying to be a run based and defensive dominant team, we need to have a quarterback who is accurate and doesn't turn the ball over, Molberg doesn't do either of those particularly well. Good play calling and efficient quarterback play can make up for a subpar offensive line. Put Bartels in the game and do more 3 step drops, screens, and draw plays. If you make the quarterback get the ball out of the hand in around 2 seconds it will take a lot of stress off the offensive line. That being said, we are 2-2 after 4 games. To me that is a great start for a rebuilding program.

I am absolutely stunned to see the turnaround the offense has had this year.....Between Arcia, Santana, and Vargas it sure has been fun to watch most nights.
-
I'm more concerned with technique and closing speed as opposed to a 40 time. While important, it is one of the more overrated stats out there. After all if he ran a 4.4 40 at 6'1'' he would be an FBS recruit.

Does the Hockey Team Have a Disruptive Alcohol Culture?
Csonked Out replied to Cratter's topic in Men's Hockey
I went to college at UND and knew quite a few of the hockey players and no this doesn't happen. Kids got busted before school even started for having some beers. Let's get off our high horses here and just admit it's kids having fun. They will be punished internally and we will move on. -

They are 18-22 year old kids having fun. Let's not make this more than it really is. -
I was expecting a blowout this game not because I am not a fan, but because you don't play 5+ true freshman, turnover almost a 1/3 of your roster, and have a new offensive line and immediately be successful. I was hoping that secondary play would be a bit more aggressive and improve, and that tackling would be better. I also was looking to see about in game adjustments by the coaching staff and how play calling would go. Here are my thoughts: 1) We will not abandon the run. It was refreshing to see us continue to try and make the run work instead of just giving up after half a quarter. They tried to make some adjustments after the 1st quarter and did find some success in the power running game. This line just isn't athletic enough yet to pull very successfully against FBS dlines. The line is young and inexperienced and will improve, I was just happy to see them stick with it. Simmons will be a decent player as well, will be good enough to give the ball to 15-20 times/game. 2) Corners are much improved You can tell the improvement with your own eyes. They are being coached to be more aggressive and jump routes, the timing just needs to improve though. I expect to see far more interceptions this year, and I also expect to see teams struggle to throw against us as we get to the back end of the season. 3) Tackling is improved Is it where we want it to be? No, but the games were almost unwatchable last year it was so bad. The guys aren't missing as many tackles, although position on some of them is still a problem. We certainly have work to do and limiting YAC(yards after catch) and the linebackers pass coverage should improve this year. This defense is going to be good, Tillman is certainly capable and Brown and Carter did a fine job on the other side of the field. I was a bit concerned about the Dline, but the true freshman was making some noise last night and Hinojosa was doing a good job in the middle. We have things to build off of guys, I was expecting a 3-8 season and that is fine by me as long as we are improving day by day. I am happy that a lot of Bubba's players he brought in are already making an impact and am excited to see what he can do with another years worth of players to build around. The compete level is up and this team cares. It is only up from here. Happy Labor Day weekend everyone and thank god football is back again!

It's been a long time since I have seen successful in game adjustments, I just want to see the running game get going and see the lines start to steady up a bit.

Summer school.....maybe he got caught cheating or wasn't going to class. You have no inside knowledge, just a website showing any legal charges. I am sure there is reason for it and no it is none of our business.
-
If he left for personal reasons that is fine with me. We don't need to criticize him on hear and assume when we have no idea. Best of luck to him.
-
While we lost a ton of talent on WR, I hope this group has better hands. We had play makers last year but there were a ton of dropped balls as well
-
Ya I heard FCS wasn't an option. It was a Big 10 school or hockey. Great get for the goofers
-
Did our secondary just go from our biggest weakness to our biggest strength? If this team finishes at .500 with such a late start in the recruiting process it would be an amazingly good class. I was surprised at how many young guys, but with how terrible we were last year it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also, Carter will be starting by game 4. He is just to good to keep of the field.

I am curious to see if our true freshmen DB Carter has earned a starting spot

I heard rumors of compliance issues being a reason as well...not sure to the truth to that though.
