The top team in the land visits the Ralph. Denver @ UND

Bubs finally started reading the forum and agreed to put Omac at center. Stick tap to @Oxbow6 for emailing the coach to get the job done. -

Several of the lines didn’t change for a few games in a row and once berg was out we had no choice but to shuffle the deck. Especially when Andrew is in, he can’t just slide onto a line where berg was. It’s a lot tougher than saying “keep the lines together” when you lose your top center since one of your next best options at center happens to be the wing on a different line (although it seems like Omac should be the one sliding to center). Therefore you have to change 3-4 lines. -

Even Littler with 8 and 27 was a good trio in Duluth with good size. But I 100% agree that we need a line to load up some offensive lines. They may not be as defensively reliable as a line but we haven’t been defensively reliable half the games anyway so we might as well put a few more pucks in the net haha -

Did you see what led to that “softie”? We allowed an even strength cross ice pass down through the slot that they one-timed. Goalie had to go post to post and still got a good piece of it but he was badly hung out to dry. That’s on the D and forwards in our zone blowing coverage and having poor positioning. -

I’m about 90% certain that guy is a troll pretending to be a former UND athlete. It’s a ruse. -

I don’t think it was a passengers thing so much as chemistry issue and lacking the ability to work together as a unit. Can’t believe the score wasn’t worse than it ended up being because we gave DU a lot of good looks. -

The empty net goal doesn’t change the outcome but seriously just hold the puck for the last 10 seconds instead of passing it right to them for a free goal. Wow -
Robert morris, Cornell, and BU all losing tonight doesn’t help us at all. But if we can’t help ourselves I suppose it doesn’t matter much haha

I’m sorry everyone but if you think that TJ is tonight’s problem you haven’t been watching. We are having one defensive breakdown after another and have given DU close to 10 grade A chances. It’s unbelievable we are only down by 2 with how badly we are getting worked over. We could have Mbereko in net and would still be getting beaten right now -

We are lucky that our 2 most challenging series through the calendar year (Denver and St Cloud) are at home so that we can dictate some of the matchups. Of course the other side of that is it hurts the pairwise more to lose home games so it may bite us hard. I'm concerned that we will drop at least one, maybe 2 games during the sequence of RMU, BSU, and Miami. It almost seems like a given that Bemidji will snag one due to them always playing us hard. They aren't that good but they are good enough to grind out a win against us and worsen our pairwise problem against the CCHA. RMU and Miami scare me because I'm not sure how mentally tough we are so those games will be a test of how well we can get dialed in and not have moments of complacency. -

Monty will for sure play over Komzak but yeah we’ll want Strathmann back in at D with Monty as extra skater maybe alternating D reps with Jubenvil -

Definitely. Perron’s speed is on another level this year. With James being our fastest skater, that line is a great fit since they can push pace so well. Once Perron can start utilizing his shot with his speed, that line will become even more lethal. -

This was an interesting weekend because the line that was so good last weekend (James-Boisvert-Perron) produced the least this weekend. The 4th line was a force to be reckoned with, though. -

Seems like at least one of our guys has a hot hand in the dot each night. Schmaltz didn’t have a great night but it didn’t matter much since Berg was solid. That’s an area Boisvert needs to pick it up but he’ll get there. -

Too soon. Too soon. Please wait another 20-30 years before bringing it up again -
Cornell better not lose more than 1 game the rest of the calendar year. Then I’ll give them 3 more after the new year through the regular season but they are only allowed to lose to good teams and not any of the weaklings they play on a regular basis haha. They’ve got Yale Friday and Brown Saturday and if they play their game there’s no reason they shouldn’t pull it off.

Prediction: We're coming away with at least 4/6 points this weekend to get some momentum back. Win and a tie followed by a shootout loss since we can't score on a breakaway no matter how much time is available. In the tie game we will dominate play and outshoot them by 7 or more shots but won't be able to get the winner in regulation. Even with the boys being very dinged up on the back end I feel confident going into this weekend.

This has nothing to do with the team’s product on the ice. But I’ve gotta say that our team has some real duds when it comes to being interviewed by the media (they are hockey players and not news anchors, so they are forgiven). But Monty was great at the media day interviews today. He can deliver his message, is comfortable at the podium, has a sense of humor, doesn’t stumble constantly or say the same thing over and over, and is honest. I think Jammer is a good interviewee as well but Monty getting more games in might mean better interview options for the media team -
