I'm in the minority here, but as long as Rudy is being dumped, Schmidt should be too. I'd love to see 2 young upcoming coordinators take over with Bubba as the main face of the team, the PR guy and the one whose love for UND is obvious to every recruit but who turns the game days over to the coordinators. Dabo Swinney has effectively done that at Clemson. He's not the guy calling O or D in any significant way. UND Defense stats: 3rd down conversion rate 37% for 59th in the FCS. 4th down conversion rate 53% for 79th in the FCS. It constantly bugged me the D could not get off the field in the most critical times. Total Defense: Yards per game 52nd in the FCS. Changes need to be made on both sides of the ball.

It seems to me that the OC must have the type of QB he wants. Does UND have QBs in the system that a more dynamic OC want? Of all the play calls to criticize, for me it's been the QB draw with a relatively slow, not very elusive or quick QB. Just HATED that play call. Would love to see a no huddle O from time to time too. BUT...that's NOT BUBBA ball. I agree with the critique of Kett, but what in the world happened to the OL this season. Major decline from the first half of the season.

This is a prediction not my hope, but … Win or lose next week, Rudy is gone and Kostich is moved to some other part of the program. I believe he's a good recruiter and has value there. Lose next week, and it's all over for this group of coaches.

They spent 33 minutes on the field because they gave up gashing runs by a QB that the coordinator didn't understand was killing us until the 4th Q and the times players had a shot at him, they couldn't make a freaking tackle.

The lack of a spy on the QB is beyond belief. They had a 50% 3rd down success with ONE GUY SCRAMBLING THROUGH OUR D. Where's the spy?

I didn't see the game last week, but was the OLine this bad last week? This is a huge regression from early in the year. Kett looked out of sorts all day. Bad decisions with some bad passes. Yes he was rushed and a couple times didn't even get to look at a receiver as the D was on him so fast. Still needs to do better, though.

I appreciate your sentiment here. I replied only due to the use of the word "fair" as that is now the code word that gets my attention in this and any discussion. What's fair to one is not to another and fair is only fair if the individual thinks it is. It's subjective in a way that defies meaning.

By the same token, lots of schools bring back former players to be in that department. Lots bring back former grads, coaches who have a familiarity with the school. Corporations do it too. Is that a bad thing really?

"some guys"???? It's a guy on a forum pretending to have influence. In the good ol' days a GOBC may have existed, but you hit the nail on the head here, money talks. However, I'd be careful to think that money influences who is hired as a HC. I do believe they want someone who will bring money to the U.

Also Williams the LB from MN is a SR.

And Dijon Murray. ST guy now, but always thought he looked like a LB.
