Ahh yes......Denver has to move on after life with Cheverie........They still have some great players, but I don't see them finishing in the top three of the WCHA.

Boy, the Malone-Trupp-Frattin line is going to be huge for the sioux this year. They could have five or six goals through almost two periods...... I predicted 9-1.....could get there....

Thats a bigger crowd than they get for the boys state hockey tournament championship game. Great crowd. Hopefully tomorrow a lot of people come for the doubleheader. Could be a great crowd with no Vikes football tomorrow.....4,000 maybe?

That was my exact reaction. These are the same friends that in college drove down to Alabama to watch the sioux play in a couple of national championship games...... Must be something about those Lamoureaxs.....

If you would have told me five years ago that the Sioux women's hockey team would be getting more attention than the football team I would have called you nuts. I have a number of friends that constantly travel to close sioux football games, but decided to attend the women's home opener today instead....wow.... I'll bit## a little about Landry too. He got a lot of credit for last week when he tore up a DII type defense that had no clue what their assignments in the secondary were at times. He could have had like four interceptions today....lucky it was only two...

UND should have done the same to Toews, Oshie, Frattin, Brandt, Parise, all those college students that decided to drink.....of all things to do while in college!

I know shutting a team out is tough to do.....and I also know its the first game of the year.....However, I really expect the sioux to not give up a goal this game. With the defensive core we have I would expect the sioux to give up an average of 25 shots or less the entire year. I'm betting Manitoba may get 15 shots at the most. I'll say 9-1.....with Manitoba getting a cheap goal........ First goal bets? I'll say Trupp....bank on it!

I was at the Bronze Boot last night and met some people from NW state. It was my Grandma's 85th birthday and a couple of people from Louisiana came up and wished her a happy birthday and they were extremely friendly. I can't believe how fast they say the name of the city where their university is located......wow..... That being said, they didnt' seem overly confident in their football team. That being said...... UND 42 NW State 10

I thought the toughest group to pick was at WR. Lot of great ones over the years. The other positions were pretty easy.

UND is playing a school that they should beat. What I want to see is a lot of guys getting playing time in the fourth quarter because the score is out of reach. Some people may hate playing a DII school, but its a great opportunity for a lot of guys to get important reps for the future. Nobody really remembers the records during these transition years, lets just get better!

Moral victories suck, but at the same point in time, the Sioux represented their university a helluva lot better last night. Lets hope they can win the home opener next weekend.

I watched the Sioux Falls game on TV last year, and the attendance was horrible (maybe they shouldn't show games so lazy fans like myself actually go to them). As a student I didn't miss a single home game, even the ones on TV, and the Alerus was always packed.... I know that the Sioux play Montana at home in a couple of years. I know for that one that if Sioux fans don't fill the Alerus center, that the Montana fans sure will....

Very good point. Didn't know the rule on that one. If thats the case it makes more sense if he will contribute right away to pull the shirt. He's a good athlete, lets hope he doesn't need the medical redshirt at any time. Here is a question. Has the average attendance at the Alerus gone up or down since the transition? I would assume that with better opponents it has gone up? Anyone know?

Two more years of no postseason....argh......I miss the NCC..... I saw someone mention that Miller's Redshirt was lifted.....don't understand that one. You would think you would want him to have three years left of eligibility when the sioux can make the postseason. At least the sioux men's basketball team plays the Bison this season.....although I can't name more than four players on our team.....

I feel like I just lost my dog....Someone asked me the other day who the sioux played in their season opener and I had absolutely no clue.... There was a day when I knew the entire sioux schedule right off the top of my head, the record of the team they were playing that week, the specific cities the sioux were traveling too, the 11 starters on offense and defense, who was injured, what the key matchups were, and I could tell you the scores of when the teams played the year before......I wish that the sioux played NDSU this year or something to spark the interest, but it just isn't the same right now... Stupid question of the day (very ashamed of myself for this)...but.....when can the sioux qualify for postseason play in football again?

Or the sioux could finish in the top three in the league to avoid the three games!!!! All kidding aside I think that the way the format plays out right now is perfect. Yeah the Sioux had shaky legs, but they also had 6 days off between games. Maybe next year the sioux will get the twelve day break that they've missed out on these past two years....

I'm going to miss the rug, and the wooger. Unless Anthony LaPanta has been holding back all of these years, the U of M, broadcasts will be taking a couple of steps back...... Its almost like FSN is blaming the poor crowds, and three years of poor performances on the ice on the broadcasts...
