Last post, then I'll disappear. The players have no idea how much this means to everyone in the fighting Sioux family. Talked to my dad tonight after the game and hearing the pride in his voice is a moment I'll always remember. I'm so proud of this group and everyone involved. One more time....SIOUX FOREVER

Well definitely a sad night for Sioux hockey. But what an effort. I'm still shaking from that hockey game, but the cool thing about hockey is that you see something that you've likely never seen before. That being said my time posting on siouxsports.com has come to an end. I want to thank you all for a lot of great times on the board, and a lot of great discussions about hockey and many other sports. Your passion for UND athletics is tremendous, and I enjoyed reading everyone's take on the ins and outs with this hockey team. Child number two for my family is coming in less than a month, and my job now takes more of my time than it did before. I promised my pastor I would devote more time to my family in passing a few months ago, and my son is starting hockey in the fall! I can't wait to have another tiny Wilbur running around, and teach that child my love for UND athletics as well. You all are the best. I truly wish all of you the best in the future, and even though I won't be posting, I'll be looking on from afar hoping we can pull the string and get a championship. God bless all, and take care! Wow......crazy crazy ending to a hockey game. Can't believe what I saw the last few moments there. Crazy crazy ending.

Again, can't say enough about the officiating. They've let both teams play hockey. Yeah there has been some of the interference stuff, etc, but if its not influencing the play, let it go. Its going to take a special one to beat either of these goaltenders the way they're playing.

Through two periods, nothing has been decided. Great effort so far from the boys in green. Playing toe to toe with the number one team in the country. Should be a good third period.

Had Drake scored I don't think it would have counted. Parks too much contact with Wilcox. Keep it going boys, nice work fellas.

Good play their post powerplay to get some grind time in goldys end. The boys are playing well IMHO. Pucks on net fellas.

Maybe I'm not for CC hiring Guentzel......boy does he have his defensemen playing gritty in front of the net. Tough nosed hockey in bloody nose lane. Fun to watch. Now about the heart attack....

I like that the officials are letting the teams play too. Very well done stripes.

Minnesota the more physical team in the first period. Unique because normally its UND doing so in this series. Period proved UND can play with Minnesota, lets see if that was the real Minnesota or it just woke em up.

Kind of sloppy play there boys.....two guys to one point....ufff....

So far the gophers have been the more physical team. No real physical play out of UND yet. Some checks and such, but we haven't seen anything to write home about. Lots of whistles....this is a good thing.

To say both teams are sloppy and a bit nervous would be understated.

Ummm....good series guys....clap.....ummm......ummm....way to pitch start.....no.....hmmmm. Way to hit the ball everyone not named Kubel....... Ummmm.......keep your chins up......its a marathon, not a sprint. The hunt for 100 is officially back on. I'm hoping for a crowd in the 15,000 range this year. Maybe that will evoke some kind of change.

Boy if BC had scored there Union could have had issues with the officials. I don't know who it was, but one of the BC forwards just about tackled the Union defenseman on the blue line which allowed Johnny to get the shot off behind him. Congrats to Union. One of the two evil empires is down.....now for the other.....
