Great win for the U.S. over Russia today! Sets up another big matchup on Saturday against Canada. Anybody else think the U.S. should have declined the penalty shot and made Russia serve the penalty late in the game? Tough call, but I think given the situation and crappy ice I go a man up for the remainder of the game. Doesn't matter right now, but a talking point.

Former champ could be out as early as tomorrow. Wow.

Losing Stecher and LaDue would hurt any goalies GAA. That being said I haven't even looked at Cam's stats compared to last year. USA-RUSSIA today!

37 shots on goal for the U.S. 32 saves for Tomek through two periods. Some goals he'd probably like back, but he hasn't been bad. Nothing about his game leads one to believe he couldn't get into a game for UND the second half.

Matej may have got caught a bit deep on goal number four. Get out there and be big Mates. This makes me want to see him in a game for UND. He hasn't been bad.

TSN has a video up about the relationship between Tyson Jost and his mother. It's a must see UND hockey fans. I'd say a bit of a tear jerker..... Glad they let us see that side of him. Great story.

Regardless of who is the Slovakian goalie the U.S. needs to win that game by 5 or 6 goals tomorrow. With a game Thursday against Russia it'd be nice to get up big and just roll four lines and 6 d.

How does Huska not get player of the game for Slovakia?

If Huska is starting tomorrow his coach did him no favors letting him get hung out to dry for 60 minutes. All Canada in that one.

If they plan on Huska tomorrow against the U.S. then I'm guessing Tomek in the third. If they stay with Huska it could mean Tomek tomorrow night.

Saw the first period, didn't see first two goals on him. I'm thinking Tomek in period three.
