A lot more Penn State fans in the building tonight at Mariucci. In fact it looks almost 50/50 in terms of crowd. Is there a place you can buy Penn State looks like an empty brown seat jerseys? USCHO?

No jinxing us tonight. Ryan "SHUTOUT SHUTOUT SHUTOUT" Faragher is back in the nets for St. Cloud. I see a repeat SHUTOUT performance. Would be surprised if we scored.

Did they really play almost a whole 20 minute overtime period? Says 16:56 was the time of the OT game winner? Hockey east have different overtime rules?

Eastern Washington tied it. Why wouldn't you let him drive baseline on that play? They need a three to tie the game and you over commit to the baseline and give the guy an open look. Basketball....uffff.....

Count me as one of the surprised as hell that Rocco works with Pattyn. I mean talk about different end of the spectrum when it comes to talent and even the type of players that they are. Thought I'd never see Pattyn on a scoring line. But credit goes to the coaching staff for finding that chemistry. I would have loved to be in that meeting. Coach A: How about we throw a physical body in Pattyn with Rocco and Luke? Coach B: Really? You want to throw a guy who isn't a goal scorer on one of our scoring lines? We struggle to score.... Coach A: He'll free up some space for them, and he's a separator on the wall. He can skate with them too. Coach B: Alright, but when it doesn't work you get to call Eades and beg him to come back....

I can't see anything other than SCSU coming out like a team possessed in the first period. UND needs to weather the storm in the first period. I'm not saying sit back, I'm saying playing a smart penalty free first period with an emphasis on puck possession will go along ways towards winning a trophy. Everyone was hoping UND would get 2 of these four road games. Never in my wildest dreams did I see them winning all four of them. I like the way they're playing, and I think they have a great chance of getting the sweep tonight.

They'll be in trouble in a sold out XCEL energy center on a Thursday afternoon against Penn State for the right to play Wisconsin on Friday. I assume extra seating will be added for the Michigan-Wisconsin semifinal game. Likely have to do it the night before for Michigan St.-Ohio State.

I'd like to think Siembida joining the cats was the start of a major turnaround at Quinnipiac. Almost a Shattuck to UND type pipeline of good players.

Thoughts: ~Second period was the best I've seen this team play all year. That was fun to watch. ~Tough to pick a standout line.....all of them were pretty good. ~Glad they shelled Faragher.....thats been a long time coming. ~Zane steady and good. Just doesn't lose I guess. They are playing for hardware tomorrow night. The trophy will be in the house.....a ton to play for.
