  1. Miami goes 0-6 against Duluth this year. SCSU gets them next I think.
  2. And a game suspension right? Direct contact to a goalie's head in the crease. Ciskie had plenty to say about Mismash so I'm sure he agrees with the five.
  3. Wait a second? A kid would lay on the ice in order to sell the fact a 5 minute major should be called??? Keep this up and they will start reviewing these majors! That'll stop it!!!!
  4. How I see the EDC qualifications going the next few years. 1. RR.....Every year.... 2. GFC.....Every year..... 3. Fargo Davies.....Pretty close to every year. 4. Toss up among the rest, with edge to the Fargo/West Fargo schools. The AA bantam programs of Grand Forks and Fargo are just too good, and the programs that don't play AA bantam will have a hill to climb in high school. I don't think Grafton will win another state championship.
  5. Funny how some teams get majors in Denver and some teams don't...
  6. After Duluth beats Miami tomorrow that will make 6 wins against them and 18 league points Duluth got playing Miami this year. Maybe they should of had more cross division games at the POD?
  7. Badgers lead Gophers 2-1. And as I type that its now 3-1 badgers.
  8. That could be. I've always been amazed that a small community like Grafton could keep producing good hockey players and good teams throughout the years, and the surrounding communities of Park River, Minto, could throw in some good players as well. Used to be you expected to see them playing on Friday night in the semifinals every year, now unfortunately for them its a question of if they even make the tournament.
  9. GFC puts up 8 goals in the first period against the Spoilers. At some point I'm going to need an explanation of what is hurting Grafton hockey. When I was reffing a few years back one of their coaches told me politics was to blame, another said it was the numbers. Likely to not make the state tournament this year. Made it one time in the last 8 years?
  10. I think the scales were already tipped towards sweep for Denver this weekend. Saville could save them, but now he's on the road in an arena he isn't as comfortable in against a team that can bury their opportunities. If any of those three players is Ward, Primeau, Weiss or Saville Denver could have a good weekend.
  11. Now the Twins add Colome. That makes the bully.....or possible bully..... 1. Rdgers (L) 2. Duffey (R) 3. Dobnak (R) 4. Robles (R) 5. Stashak (R) 6. Colome (R) 7. Thielbar (L) Taxi Squad: Smeltzer, Thorpe, Alcala. Will be great competition for bullpen spots.
  12. Well.....a UNO sweep would just about dagger Denver, but I'd put a friendly wager with anybody that UNO doesn't go into Denver and sweep. Just doesn't happen at Magness arena. A Denver sweep gives them all sorts of life heading into Valentines weekend at REA....... I'll say a split would be ideal for UND.
  13. IMHO that is a disaster of a matchup for UNO if UNO gets home ice. UNO can hang with a team like UND because we are all sorts of dumb with the penalties this year. We are in the top five in average penalty minutes per game in the NCAA, and I believe we lead the NCAA in total penalty minutes with 252. Denver doesn't take a lot of penalties and when the teams got together at Baxter a few weeks ago from what I watched 5x5 Denver was better and Saville bailed Omaha out on Saturday night. UNO going on the road to Denver this week will tell us where they are at. They've only played two games this year in an arena not named Baxter, and they crept by a CC team in the Springs that @Godsmack will tell you should have won Saturday night. Denver Sweeps UNO and they are only three points back.
  14. I was nervous as hell last year that UND would end up in Colorado and end up playing Denver in that regional. We would of likely had more fans in attendance than they would have, but in the one and done format they are scary as hell. Denver would be a great team for BC or Minnesota to open with this year if they get in.
  15. Twins resign Cruz. I like the move. Guy is a great leader, and an even better humanitarian. 1. Buxton-CF 2. Donaldson-3B 3. Cruz-DH 4. Kepler-RF 5. Polanco-2B 6. Kirilloff-LF 7. Sano-1B 8. Garver-C 9. Simmons-SS You could have Arraez play left field too to get his bat in the lineup. If he's in the lineup he leads off and you move Buxton down to 9th. The lineup looks pretty good from a distance. Rotation: 1. Maeda 2. Happ 3. Big Mike 4. Berrios 5. Probably bring in another starter. Or Dobnak, and they keep Thorpe or Smelzer in the pen as another lefty. Bully: 1. Rodgers 2. Duffey 3. Dobnak 4. Robles 5. Stashak 6. Thielbar 7. Alcala
  16. EGF, after getting swept by the two high schools on the west side of the river, goes to Warroad and beats them 3-2 all the while outshooting them by 20. Maybe the way to do it is just keep the other team away from your goalie.
  17. I'm all for Omaha getting better each year. A big step for them would be qualifying for the NCHC tournament in St. Paul. I believe (without checking google), they are the only school who has yet to make an appearance at the frozen faceoff.
  18. Until the Mavs: -Find a way to break a UND player's neck and have their fans tell me our guy isn't hurt. -Stick a disturbed hockey illiterate 45 year old man behind me at the X for a weekend with BO like I'll hope no one ever has to experience again. -Have a gopher in skates running around on the ice. -Have one of their fans call in to a radio show and take shots at a kid with a life threatening condition. -Have one of their fans write a four page diatribe on head injuries after one of their guys gave our guy post concussion syndrome causing him to medical redshirt a year. -Blindly back the idea that the Big Ten hockey conference was a good idea. They'll not be a heated rival......
  19. @crb1 and @yzerman19!!!!!! You guys (I think both guys) are famous!!!!!!!! This Mav fan got like ten likes calling you two bozos out!!!!!
  20. Saw that the girls and boys State A tournaments don't have consolation rounds, yet both the class B tournaments are three consecutive days at the same site with consolation rounds.
  21. Those numbers say the tournament could go back to normal. How many total locker rooms are there at the REA outside of UND's? At least 6 for the main and four at the Olympic rink?
  22. Just thinking out loud, but why not host the consolation round at home sites as well for the state tournament? I mean they are okay having teams travel all over the place on a Tuesday, why not host the Consolation first round on Thursday, and have the consolation championship game at the Ralph on Saturday morning, or the higher seed's home rink Saturday? There is the "it doesn't matter its the consolation round" argument, but these teams have already lost enough games, why not let them play it out for at least one or two more games? If it ended up being a Fargo school and Williston, the NDHSAA should rent some ice in Bismarck and call it good.
  23. Goodbye Eddie Rosario. Cleveland should work out okay for him. I get that we are updating our team defensively with Simmons at short, but moving Polanco to 2nd means they don't have a position for Arraez other than utility. And they need his bat in the lineup.
  24. I've seen Jekyll and Hyde with Omaha. Based on where Denver sits I'd say Omaha has a great chance to be at home in the postseason hosting Denver in the first round, unless they go on a terrible run losing 3 of 4 to UND and getting swept at Denver.
  25. I'll be happy when we're done seeing UND legacy kids on Omaha. I mean I understand one every so often. Yet it's Archibald, Zambo, Ward, Morelli, Balfour. I'm sure I'm missing one somewhere in there too. If these kids sucked it wouldn't bother me too much, but all are pretty good players.
