The right team won. I was pulling for the Spuds, but they got outplayed in OT.

Boy, that OT was all Andover. For playing four lines most of the night the Spuds just had no zip at all there. That's such a tough place to be as an official. You lose sight, blow it, and then there is the puck laying there uncovered.

How on earth does that kid get out of the state albeit the region? A big kid with swagger that can skate and finish. I'm upset as a UND fan, how must the gopher fans feel?

Mahtomedi wins....surprise. I'll be following Ben Dardis down the road. 60 wins as a high school goaltender is a pretty good statistic, plus a fantastic shutout streak. Wonder where he is headed next year as far as the future of his hockey career? The likely Brimsek award winner.

Warroad up big on Monticello. A great matchup on Friday afternoon will be their offense against a great defensive team like Mahtomedi and goalie like Dardis. Gardner could have 7 goals. Guessing the d men he played and practiced against in the USHL for a year were slightly better than what Monticello has.

Yup, he is a bulldog commit. Great skill player for sure. Wonder if he plays in the USHL next year or finishes out his career in Warroad.

Omaha is better without Abate in the lineup. Completely Gabinet's fault for telling the kid to cross the line etc., but going forward its amazing what not stirring up your opponent and not having to kill dumb penalties does for a team.

Who is going to St. Paul you ask? Miami @ Denver. Ludvig is special but not happening for them. Denver sweep. Duluth @ SCSU. They are so even it hurts. SCSU in 3. Omaha @ Western. If it was one game on neutral ice I'd pick Omaha. Its Lawson, so the Broncos sweep. CC @ UND. @Godsmack tells me the Tigers are weak on the wall. Plus we get our "day to day" guys back. UND sweep. That sets up a Friday night special in St. Paul with UND and Western. That'd be fun.

Yeah, after that Cornell series I was burying this team and calling for the Swede full time. Two years ago we were supposed to be hosting CC in the NCHC tournament before Covid ended things. Now two years later we are back to the norm.
