And Carle had a lot to do with it, which is why he was given the job.
-
Hmm...four and half years under Montgomery, yet he turned the DU ship around and proved to be possibly the best recruiter in the land. I'm throwing my hat in the ring for Dane. The players like playing for him and have confidence in him (meaning they won't bail) is all I need to know.
-
How did Carle get the job at DU, and how has that worked out?
-
Spoken like a true dipsh*t.

I'm confused. How hard is it to coach a team to park a couple guys in front of the net and shoot from inside the blue line? Both teams scored that way last night. And it tends to draw penalties as well. Western and UNO are really good at it.

I'd love it if the boys went on a roll like that, then faced the Goobers. -

I see it finishing like this: 1 Western, 2 ASU, 3 Denver, 4 Sioux, 5 Omaha, 6 CC, 7 Clowns, 8 Miami. Plan for 4 or possibly 5 games in a row with Omaha at the Ralph. Then on to play Western in first round of Frozen Faceoff for 5th time this year. If we win that game it'll likely mean playing Denver for the 5th time for the championship. Rough row to hoe, but it can be done. -
Need to play well enough to get Omaha at home in the playoffs...whatever that takes.

Duluth is a very well coached team but with far less talent than UND. We'll see which matters more this weekend. I'm nervous.
-
Good things happen when you play strong net front hockey. That had been missing all year. TJ played well but he had open sight lanes all night. On the offensive end strong net front hockey got us a goal from Strinden. Watch the films over and over, boys.

The boys stepped it up with a key trio out last night. The key was their work in the net front. DU plays a low to high game and we were ready for it. Nice shot blocking and clearing their guys out. Also helps that TJ had a strong game, but the boys gave him a sight lane all night. Hopefully we can build on that. -
And yet it did zilch to our PW rating.
-
So what if that split includes a sweep of Western?

Important update: the online version shows UND's tournament probability at 4%. Now we're talking! -

So now the Pairwise ratings are showing UND with a 100% probability of making the NCAA tournament (on the PW mobile app). What's up with that? Computing error? Carryover from last season? Heartless prank? -
Not sure Hedquist could have stopped that one.
-
UND score for CC. Nice. What an embarrassing season.
-
Let's face it. This team sucks.
-
Looks like TJ is back in the nets tomorrow and perhaps the rest of the year.

I mean, what exactly does messing with a teammate's girlfriend mean anyway? Are we talking doing the hokey pokey here, or something lesser like badmouthing? Sending the 5th home for the weekend sounds like we're talking more along the lines of the former. If so it takes two to tango...or hokey pokey. -
Just doing a little math here. A win tonight gives us a 5 point weekend and shoves us all the way up to 25 in the PW. This would put our odds up to about 1 in 30 of making the national tournament. On another note it's looking very likely we end up playing Denver in the first round of the NCHC playoffs, meaning we lose to them 6 times in a season. Has any team had that honor before?
