Don't forget Hain too. Those guys being out has really allowed some others to step up and mature. Guys like Bast and the entire freshmen crew have really upped their game. And yes, Driscoll has put the team on his shoulders. It's fun to watch. Give Bubs and his staff a lot of credit. What we are seeing stems from a lot of drills and discipline in practice. The naysayers being damned - the system works.
I see both UND and DU dropping one game to UNO in their barn, where they play well. For us to take the cup means we have to sweep Western in our barn, and I see it happening.
I'm gonna say it. This team's success is a result of coach Berry and his system. Period. The checking tenacity and D has put a mediocre talented team at the top of the NCHC. Go ahead and throw flames, Berry doubters, but you are dead ass wrong.
Exactly. A slash is a slash, intended or not. And if you accidentally trip someone it's still a trip. The refs missing that was bush. They were bush all night.
UMD certainly DOES NOT out-recruit UND. Just look at their NHL players vs. UND NHL players. What UMD does is recruit players with low flight risk who remain and play 4 or 5 years. Overall UND has to compete with freshman, sophomores and transferees. That's a tall coaching task for Berry and his staff. I give them mega kudos.
Gaber had three points and was the spark to the win, including the nifty toe drag goal to put us on the board first. He deserved first star. Driscoll played well but only made 26 stops. Deserved 3rd star.
