  1. Thank you! We will always be UND Fans. Everyone treated Jack very well during his time as a Fighting Hawk! We will have great memories from our time in North Dakota. I have enjoyed participating in the Fan Forum. G
  2. He is coming off of the IR this week and will be available to play. Yes, he needs to stay healthy! Availability is the best ability. G
  3. Do we need to do another Help Bubba 4.0 project for a new helmet to run through?
  4. We'll see this weekend vs Eastern Washington. Sam Herder predicts a 45-35 victory for NDSU. If they give up 35 points to a 3-8 team from last year then their defense could be vulnerable. Teams have to prove that they can beat them on the field though. This includes UND. Go hawks! G
  5. KK is actually one of the fastest guys on the team. Up close he is a physical specimen. I know that he has made some serious mistakes during his career. However, I am hopeful that simplifying the defense is the key to his success. I think he questioned what he was supposed to do and that split second delay cost him and the team! The talk with new DC JS is to simplify the defense. If this is true I think KK and Fort (plus Ball filling in as needed) will have a solid season and the safeties will make significant improvement from last year. With this improvement from the safeties plus really good corners our defense should be much improved. We will see! G
  6. Thanks, are they doing it in person or zoom again?
  7. Do we know when the MVFC Media Day is? i have been trying to find a date and haven't been able to as of yet.
  8. My disappointment from being a recent fan is that the students don't come to the football games. It looks like maybe 1,000 students come to a big game. In the last 4 years the home record for the football team 18-2 (only losses to NDSU and SDSU) so the record is outstanding. The games have been exciting as well! If they could coax 2,000 students to a game then the atmosphere would be electric! I think the Athletic Dept., coaching staff and players should do more to get the students out to the games. Go to the frat and sorority meetings to let them know they are wanted and needed. Go to freshman orientations to get them hooked early. Need more buy in! I think the program is set up for a really good season! I'm looking forward to it!
  9. UND #16 in Hero Sports Preseason Top 25! That is the highest preseason ranking that I have seen in several years (except after Spring 2021 season). A little respect for the Hawks! https://herosports.com/herder-2023-fcs-preseason-top-25-bzbz/
  10. The QB from last year, RJ Martinez, which was really good transferred to Baylor. So they will have to find a new gunslinger to throw it all over the yard! Additionally, the altitude was a factor for our players. I was at the game and was surprised at how hard it was to catch breath at times. With that said, the speed of NAU was an issue for our Defense. Hopefully, Fort, Ball, Siegel, Buckner, Ocansey and Kaden are all ready to roll!
  11. I disagree. We have a favorable schedule next year. We play 5 teams that were the bottom of the mvfc last year. Western Illinois, Indiana St., Murray St., South Dakota and Illinois St. We obviously have to win the games we are supposed to win. We made some improvements on road games last year so I think we can be in the 8-3 and 7-4 range if we stay healthy (if not better). Our offensive line was really gelling last year before the injury to Lotysz and illness to Kilty. I see the OL being a real strength this year. We need to tackle better on defense as well which hopefully they are addressing in practice. I think our back end will be better with fort returning and more experience from new corners/safeties ocansey, hembry and buckner. I am going to watch practice on Friday and Saturday so I will be able to get a better feel for how everyone is looking then.
  12. They added Griffin Jr from Northern Illinois. He is listed as the 2nd NT. He is listed at 305! Hope he can help the team on the interior D Line. Also, safeties not listed due to injuries that will be available for Fall are Sammy Fort and Ethan Ball. Both played last season with Sammy being hurt fairly early last year. Both of these players will add depth and experience to the Safety position. My assumption is that Sammy Fort will be one of the starters. Last comment is that i think the 3-4 does work against most teams in the MVFC but not NDSU. I would love for them to throw in some 4-3 wrinkles vs them. Try something different and make them beat you with the pass.
  13. Spring practices have been moved back 2 weeks from what I have been told.
  14. so did Missouri St. last year. We should be ok but you never know. I like our chances at home though! G
  15. It seems like everyone is talking about how great Weber St. is. The hawk talk with Brian Shaw, everyone saying they should have received a bid, how great the Big Sky is. They played Northern Arizona last week and only won by 2 points. We can beat these guys! We were missing our right tackle due to illness on Saturday and that really affected what tommy could do looking right. Looking forward to a better start and get Hoosman/Smith going and then getting the play action going!
  16. Unfortunately, the offense (uncharacteristically) helped SDSU with 14 points. The pick 6 and the fumble to start the 2nd half allowed SDSU's offense to get rolling. The defense had played very well before the pick 6. We have made some good in-game defensive adjustments to slow down the offense. I would say that we have struggled more with the wide-open passing offenses than the more traditional run game offenses. I think we can hold them to 24 offensive points on Saturday. I think NDSU is going to try and limit possessions and play keep away from our offense as much as possible. We need to get off of the field when we get them to 3rd down. Just my 2 cents.

No, the narrative that the MVFC is down this year is foolish talk. The non-conference wins by the MVFC speak for themselves. Mo. St. beat UCA and UT Martin- undefeated in the OVC- 2nd place in the OVC- almost beat Arkansas Southern Illinois beat Northwestern (Big 10) North Dakota beat ACU- WAC champions probably NDSU beat NC A & T- MEAC champions probably SDSU beat UC Davis (darling of the FCS media)- almost beat Iowa I think we should be good to get in at 7-4 but I think we will win and end up 8-3!

We need to end up 8-3 and get out of this bracket! We need the upper hand in the draw. I believe we can do it! Beat USD!
  19. You have to remember that 2 of the defensive backs that would have played significant snaps transferred before this season. Caleb Nelson and Sam Robertson would have helped a lot on depth at CB. One of them would have started. So the staff has been working to fill this gap. Hopefully, the group continues to improve throughout the season. They showed some improvement in the Mo State game! Hopefully they will continue to improve and the team will come home with a victory. Heading into a bye week with a 4-2 record and SDSU would be huge! Fans should be up to support the team for a huge game vs the #2 team! Just win Baby!

    Homecoming

Has a MVFC team with 7 wins ever missed the playoffs? Let's not just shoot for 7 wins though. Let's try and win each week! Beat YSU this week! G
  21. Our guys will be swooping in from all different places to sack the qb! The team is focused!
  22. I watched a few practices and Isaiah Smith and the new UNI RB Tyler Hoosman looked really good. I think both of those guys will do very well! I was also impressed with what Ziebarth did last year and in practice. Also, Skokna will provide a great option for catches out of the backfield. Isaiah has great burst and vision. Tyler also looked very fast and powerful. I think both of these guys can run inside and also get outside if needed.
