You are right I do think Mal does look very angry out there and does complain about every call. When you do have an actual legit gripe, refs wont listen to you. Yes BOTH Meyer girls are huge floppers and get away with it. We had the Big Meyer center in foul trouble last night. Prime opportunity to get her fouled out and we didnt take advantage of it.

She has done nothing in college coaching. Couple good years with a high school team. We hire her and then extend her after many years of terrible teams.

To be fair I did think we got a few calls that were questionable and I dont mind a coach standing up for her players. AJ has been in this league long enough that he always gets a few calls. Plus I think half his practices must be teaching the girls how to flop. The slightest touch and they are on the ground like a truck hit them. I have seen that many years of his players, not just this year. Refs in womens basketball dont like a girl falling hard and usually call a foul. My opinion.

They are close only because they hired Hutter. I have seen things from this year that I've never seen the previous years with Mal. Better rotations. Making adjustments. Better offense. Looking at scouting reports and making adjustments. Like tonight how they double downing on sdsu big. Mal never did any of this before. Not a coincidence it's happening this year after the hire.

I think Mal looks at the forum. Took my suggestion to play Demers and Ibrahim at the same time. Hope I gave her good advice !

I see it does make a difference if we make coaching changes. We can recruit athletes to grand forks, just need the right coach. Now we need it for a few other sports before our culture is destroyed.

Where are you hearing this from @gfhockey Have you heard if they will be contributing tax income to the city?

What I heard was that they are asking the city to Annex the land into the city. This couldnt be considered sovereign land at that point. They would be paying taxes like any other business in city limits, unless the city gave them some sort of break. They give other businesses breaks for bringing the economic impact that this could bring to the city. The biggest hurdle for them will getting approval from the State and Federal to build a casino off the reservation. I have to think that they have been given some kind of confirmation that they will, otherwise why go through purchasing the land and going to the city.

I dont see how the dead Columbia Mall and the Casino have anything to do with each other. The mall is owned by a out of state company that clearly doesnt put anything into and is losing renters by the droves yearly. Until now where there is very few businesses left in it. I have seen people online bashing the mayor and city about trying to do something about it. What can the city and mayor do with a privately owned business? The other is a casino which is trying to bring a economic impact to our community. I believe if the land is annexed into the city they will be contributing to the tax base. If this casino fails, the tribe will be the ones baring the economic loss not the city. The owners of the mall dont care about Grand Forks or what they are doing to the city, the tribe building a casino will contribute to the betterment of Grand Forks. Yes I know they will also benefit, but I also believe they are trying to bring some new forms of entertainment to Grand Forks which we dont have. I seen the axed the water park to not compete with the Canad Inn water park. Until the owners of the mall finally sell there is nothing the city or mayor can do about it.

I agree with what you are saying. When Mallory won 2 games for her interim season, I thought no way she gets this job. Then it came down to her and one male coach. I was surprised she made top two, but figured they were doing it to save face with a former athlete. I dont remember the male coaches name, but remember thinking he had some experience that could have helped us. When she was awarded the head coaching job after winning only 2 games and being an assistant for the coach they had fired I was floored. Since then she has proven she is not a D1 basketball coach. NDSU made a bold move after hiring two female coaches that basically took their teams to the toilet in hiring Jory Collins. He has turned that team around and has made them a contender. I have no problem with a female coach, but I also dont think there should be preferential treatment for a female to coach a female team. Best candidate should get it period. I also believe Coach Hutter is the reason this years team is showing some signs of improvement this year. Time to move on.

I dont think so. I think right off interstate with easy access for passing traffic, especially Canadian traffic is smart. Besides where down town would be big enough to have a casino like that? Parking would be horrible. They have 146 acres now to build on. This is suppose to be a Vegas type casino.
