The home games aren’t up to him, the Olympic curling trials run in Omaha and they don’t have ice. Kind of puts them in a bad spot I think, what with all the road games between now and Christmas. On the flip side, my bet is it’s a small group willing to travel to Omaha noncon and they get who accepts.

Went over to the game with the missus. Omaha looked flat out of the gate and didn’t recover. Cloud looked like they were fired up from the drop and it was all over. Interested in what tomorrow brings, but the drive killed me. That Roden, the back up goalie, looked lights out for Omaha.

My unimportant take is either it's no overtime, or, a 10 minute 5x5. End it in a tie if the "lesser team" deserves it, or, play hockey not some bastardized street hockey match. In a lot of cases, 3x3, one school is significantly favored based on grinders versus blue 'chippaz' as I heard it said often...

On your first point, I agree, get rid of overtime and accept ties happen. On your second point, may I suggest seeing a doctor...

Olympic Curling trials make it that way every few years. They go on the road for a stretch to start league play. Lake and Maine might have poor records, but who can call that 2 years out? And Alaska? Always a tough to call out. Focus on facts, not feelings. They have a pretty good roster this year, 4 solid lines.

From what I read, he's got elite skills but some real rough spots in terms of a complete game (like work in his own end, setting up team mates, making good decisions). Oh well...
