  1. Per Gabinet regarding the REA pod... “It’s been the same thing all season long,” Gabinet said. “We’re going to play wherever we’re playing and we’re looking forward to it. They have a first-class facility up there and my expectations are they’re going to do a great job hosting the playoffs and it will be a great experience for everyone involved.” doesn’t sound like he’s been made out to be. I was trolling through the other teams as well, lots of excitement about that weekend. Should be great hockey as single elimination, every game do or die and Pionk won’t be there! Wolfe either! My two most unfavorites... ok, throw in Scott ‘hit em from behind’ Perunovich.
  2. Warmed my little black heart it did! *bows to the crowd as the ovation reaches it peak*
  3. My point was dominating 5x5 doesn’t mean sh@t if you don’t do anything but pass the pick around and hit the goalie in the chest protector.
  4. Denver looked good this weekend but that was against an Omaha team that hasn’t recovered fully from covid protocol impacts. We’ll know by the end of the first period, game one.
  5. No fan speaks for a fan base anyway. I’ve seen a lot of jabber with no real counters to back it up. Just want everyone safe before, during and after.
  6. Two years ago we “dominated 5x5” outshooting everyone and couldn’t put games away. Good teams bury chances, regardless of situation. That’s not to say those who don’t are bad teams, they just don’t.
  7. A lot of interesting comments about Omaha’s conditioning issues coming off protocol. Tychonic lost 20 pounds? They haven’t been playing well since the pod ended and this could be the reason. 2 weeks at home may help but they are still missing starters from 3 of 4 lines as well as 2 semi-regular defensemen. Gonna be a bang up finish for sure. Hope we don’t see this...
  8. Well, the pxp guy was awful so he had to say something. The really screwed up with Holden.
  9. Denver guy falls down on his own, Ward gets hooking with one hand on his stick and no contact with same.
  10. Omaha just got raped.
  11. That’s hysterical. Sullivan gets a 5 for ‘nothing’ and Prokop a blatant hit from behind and gets 2.
  12. I don’t understand.
  13. If we’re not careful, they’ll start reviewing icing calls...
  14. I wasn’t sure it was a penalty at all, same with the play on Conley. Both were missed hits in my book. Now TWO hits on Kothenbuetel were high, with gloves contacting the head. One was reviewed with no call, other than interference (with the puck carrier!), the other was no call at all...
  15. No, he decommitted when he found out we didn’t fire Barry and it wasn’t Thome’s net...
  16. It was a joke.
  17. Aside from the referees inconsistency, Omaha was missing one from each of lines 2, 3 and 4. Their offense looked out of sync and they didn’t mount much of an offense. Agree with the weird schedule in the pod, some teams get an easy sled in the back half. it’s been noted that after playing UND, both CC and UNO have had Covid issues. Do we have an asymptotic carrier?!
  18. Abate out means less penalties. Brushett really hasn’t contributed. sundberg is a loss. Reminds me of UMD Tufte...
  19. Abate Brushett Sundberg
  20. And the better, more exciting, games week in, week out, we get to watch.
  21. One thing is true, Omaha fans do want their team to be taken seriously. ‘Average’ in these days is seen as a negative comment. Someone said it, average isn’t necessarily bad, but it is average. I was serious though, an ‘average’ NCHC team is pretty damn good. The comments shared after the Saturday night loss were complimentary and I liked that. It’s easy to be gracious after a win, less so after a highly contested loss. I though I saw that here and it made me proud...
  22. So that means I’m no longer number 1? Gosh, I thought I was the number one pot stirrer. And I’m not even a troll, I just like to debate. Well, shucks...
  23. I agree with that, but this year more Jekyll (assuming the positive) than Hyde. The pod was a great venue to see teams consistently and I thought they look much ‘different’ this year. The ‘fold’ seems gone and they are winning games they wouldn’t in the past. Used to be get one against them in the first 2 and put in you backup goaltender for reps. I didn’t mean to imply that they are a national power, but they are going in the right direction. Whether that continues will be seen over the next 2-3 years. We would benefit from that, able to watch 7 or 8 potential national championship games a year! I see the split the balance of the year based on their late month off and the confidence builders against DU and us...
