Wow, I can’t remember us getting 3 sacks in a game for a very, very long time.
-
Montana must have heard me! Or read my message.
-
Crowd energy and my belief in this game is starting to pick up, KO be in bounds and D let’s get a stop. Help me get off this bipolar ride.
-
If Jerry does not get reps this game or this season and he is as good as he is said to be, Freund could steal him to SDSU or he leaves all together.
-
Yeah our defense stunk it up the first quarter, however that first drive fiasco ruined any momentum we got after the poor KO, then when 14-7 we kick it out of bounds again. 2nd quarter D started to be able to show pressure and get some stops and then the offense stunk it up. I understand this is the 4th best team but if we want to be that top tear consistent program we need to be better than this.

If it was that close of a competition, should have played both, especially after seeing this the last few games.
-
I stand corrected this may be likes Mussman’s last year where we lost 55-17 at home.
-
This may have the same score as the 1986 game (if lucky) ….that year I think UND was 2-9.
-
Montana started the year off slow last season, hopefully history repeats! UND wins 25-24; crazy score for a crazy game. As most said this game will see where this team is truly is at and where they may go.
-
Big question for me how will UND’s D handle the athleticism of a mobile quarterback? We limit the big plays from that so the crowed can stay engaged, we have a shot.
-
You prediction may be right, UNI lost to them 30-9 last year.
-
Moral victories suck, but I do agree with your post.
-
Jerry should be in, I like athleticism at QB. My guess why Simon won out is he is better at the short passing game, and if that is the majority of our passing game. That’s what our coordinator will go with.
-
Defense should not have give up that 95 yard TD drive. As I think the mentality is control clock, limit possession. We controlled clock, we need a gamer or two for wideout to stretch field.
-
As I posted with my prediction part, hopefully we see improvement to next week. I do think this will be our offense, where we do short yardage passes against better teams. If your defense is not good, you control the clock and limit other teams posessions. This seems to be the philosophy again this year.

Down 18 and 4th an 15. (analytics?) need a FG some time. However, kicking from the hash is not easy unless they are good. I don’t like the call but I do understand.
-
Hopefully this is our break! Let’s go D! Please!!!!!
-
I agree except amend it as inconsistent special teams and a defense that has become more porous for the last few years.
-
Just when I was thinking defense was about to turn the corner that TD drive happened. O-line is scrapping and good with run, but lack of experience showed on obvious pass situation because of the 3 man rush brought extreme pressure before half. Out D-line needs to be bullies like that on obvious passing situations. FG drive I just wish Romfo would have thrown it out of bounds. (Lack of experience, need to fight another play) If it wasn’t for the sack we may have gotten the first, worked off more clock and got a TD. 2nd half, we will see how our offense adjusts. Defense we need to find ways to get them uncomfortable and throw off their timing.
-
Now ISU offense off the field that long, hopefully a deflected pass and INT.
-
Not sure what we will get, my hope is we see great improvement week one to week 2. Tough to beat experienced team like ISU. 9-49 loss. If offense can move ball and defense improved I could see it closer game but still 17-35 loss. Only way we will win is a cleanly coached and played game (no dropped picks!) and ISU looking ahead for next week (go too vanilla on offense) as they play against Iowa.

Colorado’s 3rd down defense reminds me of what I have seen from us the last two years.

GFC (UND Commit) Ethan Thomas was 2 inches shy of state meet record 63-11 and threw over 190 feet to win shot and disc. Today he could win javelin and be the first Thrower to win all 3 in class A since 1915. He has a lot of upside, not sure how long he will stay at UND, I can see Nebraska or other big schools try to land him.

Schiller has quickness and is a state champion 400 meter runner. Most get players to compliment her and be able to play some defense.

2024 UND Football thread may just as well be called. 2024 UND Football who the Hell did We Lose Now thread.
