I'm curious to see what RIT can do against a not so scary Denver team that I saw last weekend. DU didn't bring their best hockey, and the "Chevy" was in the shop for repairs in that 3rd place game. It will be interesting to see how DU responds, but I saw a lot of things that reminded me of how UND finished last season at the Final Five and against UNH.

How about Ryan Cardinal for the color man? I suppose they want a former gopher player or coach.

Another great time at the Final Five. One of the coolest moments was after the games in the tent at Eagle street. Sioux fans were chanting, singing, having a great time. On saturday night after the title game in the tent, "Lets Go Sioux" got started up by the fans between every song that the live band was playing, and was thunderous!

Just about 16,000 there for the play in. Great turnout by Sioux fans, you have to think many more will show up tonight and tomorrow. Not too many gopher fans that I saw, but some might have been incognito.

That is the beauty of the Final Five, there are ALWAYS lots of sioux fans in your section, on the streets outside, at the various bars around the X.

We tried bringing in little flags on 1/4 inch wide poles and they had us take the flags off the poles. They said they were worried about the poles being used as weapons.

This surprises the hell out of me!

I'm sick and tired of talking about the Gopher series and the Frattin hit. This just serves to extend the Gophers season and relevance. They are DONE! Lets quit talking about them. This is me right now: I've had it with this M#%!^&^ gopher talk on this moth$&*!@$*&% board! (TV edit) For our Duluth fan friends on this board: how is your squad looking? I haven't seen them since the sweep in GF, and they were handled by UND quite nicely. What are your thoughts on the game? Will it be better than the weekend at the Ralph? How is Hjelle looking? Will he be the starter or the other guy?

I am ready to move on, but one thing that bugs me is this: Mcleod was asked for details about why Frattin was suspended. He declined to explain, instead stating "several" factors were at play. If nobody knows the details of why Frattin got the extra game, how is that going to help officials, players coaches, etc understand what they can and cannot do? This league is broken at the top, and needs a major overhaul. Bruce Mcleod and Greg Shepherd need to go. I think most WCHA fans would agree with me on this.

So let me get this right: Papa Lucia didn't shake Hexy's hand, and Baby Lucia hacked at a fan with his stick in the tunnel after the game eh? CLASSY! Anyone have a picture or video of this? AKA: Proof?

Sunday was louder. Especially during and after the 5 minute kill, all the way til the stick salute, the place went bananas!!

Absolutely. If you have never come down, this year figures to be the "safest" and most tame in a decade without the gopher fans around. Sioux fans will be the majority. Get your tickets now! (or this week)

Absolutely. Which brings on this question: how many gopher fans buy up the whole package? In the 18,000 seat X, I would guess 8-10K do. You are going to be able to get tix from Craigslist, or scalpers out front for wayyyy less than face.

Thoughts? I have one.... COME! No Gophers, this is a once in a decade opportunity folks. Tickets will be sold for less than face by desparate gophers fans. Come down to "College Hockey Mardi Gras!" GO SIOUX!
