  1. I like all of the talk on the football section lately. I think there is a good amount of interest about the team building. It is good to see.
  2. And what about "Tank"?
  3. So he will play this fall?
  4. To buckysieve and others like you, this "there's nothing to do in (insert any city in ND, SD, WI, IA, northern MN here)": I live in Grand Forks. I attend, on average, 1 viking game, 2 twins games, 1 wild game per year. In addition to that, I attend all UND home hockey and football games, a few road games as well. I attend concerts in GF or Fargo, visit the bar occasionally for a few brews, hit up a local restaurant when I can, take in a movie, grill on my deck, golf several area courses, and visit the lake as much as I can in the summer, head to Winnipeg 1 time a year. I believe people living in GF, Fargo, Green Bay, etc have it way better than you in the twin cities... sure, I have to drive 4.5 hours to go to a game, but that absolutely beats dealing with 1-2 hours round trip of traffic per day just to get to work, as well as a myriad of other reasons. Some of you idiots in the twin cities metro have this superiority complex, when in reality, we in these "hickville" cities enjoy all of the same things YOU do. Remember, I live in ND because i CHOSE to. How many of you folks in the metro area live there because you HAVE to. (in other words, you are there because you found a job easier, you get paid more, etc, when you would love to move back to your hometown such as GF or Fargo, etc) End rant.
  5. I hope it works out for Mr. Hagemo.
  6. I don't care who you are...that's funny right there!
  7. Not to get off topic here, but as a Vikings fan, there is no doubt in my mind that Packers Fans>Vikings fans.
  8. I think a better indicator of how great UND fans are is the road support. It doesn't matter if it is in St. Paul, Denver, Milwaukee, etc. The road support is simply awesome. Anyone who has been on a hockey road trip knows what I am talking about. Check out Mankato, St. Cloud or Duluth this year, I guarantee it will be fun, win or lose. Try out Al Pearson's bus too! Those older folks know how to party!
  9. Certain upper level corner sections are available for season tickets. The "waiting list" is for the more sought after seats in the lower bowl.
  10. Dave, I don't typically agree with you, but you hit the nail on the head with level of competition. Using division nomenclature, the Bison had a better year I schedule. Competition-wise, I believe UND and NDSU's 1st year schedules are nearly identical. To the UND fans: don't let this bison rhetoric disuade you from going to UND games this fall. We need butts in the stands now more than ever during this transition. By the way, anyone else think a game featuring UW Lacrosse and Valpo would result in a UW victory? I sure do.
  11. You wish... Our schedule this year isn't the best, I agree. Remember, it is our first year as a DI program. Both you and I know that in a few years, UND will be right up there where the Bison are. If you are thinking (hoping) UND will go the way of Northern Colorado in football, you are wrong. In a few years, if we aren't playing the Bison, we will surely be sharing the spotlight with your team. I hope you have enjoyed that past few years alone in that football spotlight, because your big brother is back!
  12. I agree! Lets get some advertising and EXCITEMENT going for the upcoming season!
  13. One never knows what to say in a situation like this. Stay strong! Your little one will pull though.
  14. You said what I was thinking...so now I will bite a bit also. I attend all UND football games and also basketball occasionally. I go to as many vikings, wild and twins games as my friends who live in the cities area. The only way you could attend more of those pro games is if you are in the upper income brackets. Also, I am very apathetic about pro sports in general. Here we go again...
  15. Not gonna bite on this one...you can talk all you want about the reasons you cited, some are factors, some are not. The attendance record is nice, but what makes me so proud to be a UND fan, a Grand Forks native, etc, is the passion that our fanbase has. Like the article says, Chay Genoway basically challenges you to find a better fanbase, folks...it just won't happen. God Bless the Fighting Sioux!
  16. Bickel appeared cheap at times, but he was one of those guys you love to have on your team. I saw a bit of "Prp" in him when he played the Sioux. This has to hurt UMN-TC, who lose a tough, gritty guy with experience on D.
  17. It's because: "we don't have anything better to do!"
  18. I got that as a text message a few months ago, it is awesome!
  19. I agree 100%. Yes, I know we had the interlocking logo first, but the false perception that we are ripping off Notre Dame is reality for most folks nationwide. Maybe keep it on the shoulder pads, but get something different for the helmet. (please) Example: when you see the University of Delaware's helmets, what is the first thing you think?U of Delaware
  20. Oh yay. I guess Gaborik is pretty good...actually, this is great for GF, it's just too bad I'm not a Wild fan.
  21. The staff at Overtime mentioned that someone from Fargo had bought the place. Other than that, I have no idea. I also heard a rumor that they were going to allow smoking again, whenever they reopen.
  22. Check out the link. The picture they have up of "Chorney" is Chris Porter. You can only see the #4 on Porter's jersey, but it is him.
  23. With the stories about Okposo leaving, possible lack of development for certain players under Don Lucia, and the Mike Guentzel fiasco, late season playoff "collapses", one has to believe recruiting will take a hit for your program. It might not show up immediately, but the next few years have the potential to be interesting for your school. Luckily for the U of MN-Twin Cities campus program, there are under 60 DI hockey schools out there, so there are only so many schools for blue chippers to consider.
  24. See, good discussion. One thing you can't deny, Cardinal: Whether the problems are real or perceived, they are damaging your beloved "U"'s reputation.
