Thanks Rick, it was Chucko who I was trying to think of earlier. Another big forward like Tallackson and Wheeler who didn't develop under Lucia and company. Eric Johnson had to leave early too so he could get proper coaching, forgot about that one already. Remember Jake Taylor? A few years of good development and he'd be a much better player now too. To an extent I am flaming the gophers because I really don't like them. Honestly though, there is enough material out there that Lucia and staff are not developing players adequately...I believe there are some pretty large problems at the U of MN-TC, and some healthy, mature dialogue about these problems is warranted.

I don't think Wheeler was worthy of a 1st round pick, but hindsight is 20/20. Gretzky and others saw the potential in Wheeler. I believe he failed to develop properly at the U of MN-TC. Could he still become a decent NHL player? Absolutely. He has the size and some decent skill to carve out a role. He is probably a really nice kid. He is yet another player who failed to develop properly under the Lucia regime. Things will get way better now that the evil Mike Guentzel has been fired...I mean resigned!

I wouldn't call him one of the best players in college hockey over the last 3 years...but since you are a gopher fan Dave, I understand your viewpoint. Barry Tallackson=Blake Wheeler

Actually, it isn't HIPPA in academics. FERPA is what you are referring to.(minor details) Watch any movie like "Blue Chips" or "The Program", and I believe it is a pretty accurate representation of bigtime college athletes on campus. You will have exceptions who are here to learn AND play hockey/football, etc. For the most part, these kids are here to play sports, get "the ladies" and have fun...I wish I was wrong on this, but I believe that is the general truth. (I'm not trying to generalize here, as there are exceptions to this) I spent a good number of years on campus and out socially back in the day, I know what Sioux Yeah Yeah is talking about. Again, this is my personal opinion.

If they were smart, they'd come back for another season at UND! They wont' be getting the attention(the ladies) as a minor leaguer riding the bus! College is the best time of your life. I can't imagine how good it is for a hockey player!

As a UND employee, I am outraged by the English department and these claims. Perhaps better than the word outraged is embarrassed. As mentioned earlier, for you non-UND employees, there are NORMAL departments out there, don't lump all instructors, assistant professors, associate professors and professors together. There are a few normal ones out there, but not many.

He always was jumping offside and had undisciplined penalties...I guess it makes sense. Boy, that court search tool is awesome by the way. Gotta love public records.

I was inspired to start this after reading a topic from the hockey board about the Ralph. The Alerus needs more UND flavor. How about some suggestions? Here are a few of mine. An easy thing would be to get a banner running the entire length of the stands on the bottom near the field that is green and white with UND logos, etc on it. You see this at all NFL stadiums and many college. The Bison have one running around the dome and it really adds to the facility. Second, the endzones need some more paint, the stenciled look of "Sioux" in white is very plain. Third, how about the goalpost pads? Get some with green and white and something UND on them. These few things would improve the place, a necessary change for the move up.

Well, one thing is certain: MSP will NOT be on the list.

There have been many instances with UND football players similar to this that have NOT made the paper. They are also University public figures.

Now Notre Dame fans can join us in our hatred of Greg Shepherd and Co.

There had been talk of the bus members "taking a vote" to consider coming back to GF if the Sioux lost game 1. So I guess that didn't happen.

Did the buses come back yet?

Holy crap, Notre Dame up 2-0 in the first few minutes. Sauer looking like the goalie who let in so many against the Sioux last year.

We will hear people flame lammy for "losing" this game for us. Not true. Our team played poor, BC played like Gods today. We wouldn't have been here if Lammy hadn't saved our butts in the regional. Tough tough end to the season again. I can't wait for next year!

I'm still proud as hell to be a Fighting Sioux fan!
