Yes, thanks Chris for the info and the answer to my email questions. Hope it's ok to post your answer to my "full screen" option here, in case others are interested. The Dataflix page and the official Sioux Media Player is the only way to view the games. Due to items in our agreement with Broadband Video, who runs dataflix, we can not allow any other way to view the game on your computer. Due to advertising reasons, we can not offer a full page option. We are currently trying to make a full page available that allows for the advertisements still to be seen. Realize the full page option would further decrease the image quality, but, would be nice to try it anyway. Again, thanks for the info. Does anyone know where a "discount code" for dataflix checkout might be found? Note to self: start new account- $150 - Sioux webcast (if quality is good) $2000 - new computer $unknown - better broadband provider (currently and probably forever unavailable here)

Jim, Does the quality of the broadcast have anything to do with it? I have broadband both at the office and at home, and since the stream is buffered, I don't get skips, etc. However, the quality of the webcast is still poor, just shadows, or very pixelated. The sample news conference is, however, very good, the hockey preview, poor. Slight difference in the office 'puter, assume slighty newer and better graphic adapter than at home, but still not good enough to watch. Bottom line, doubt that I'd watch for free, much less pay for it. Taz Boy apparently gets a fairly good picture?? What are the combos of hardware, internet speed that make this work well for someone, somewhere?

They could have picked a better portion of that game, not that I could see anything anyway

Interesting; the HOF game and Sioux/Concordia are listed as free. Good time to try it out. The preview game of last year's SCSU/Sioux game is not too good at this end; probably the quality of my broadband connection. The preview video (Chance's End), however, is very good. Guess the HOF game will help decide whether I want to pay or not, although I may just drive to GF to see that one, if I can get in.

Looks like we'll soon be getting the free first issue. Looks like it may be worth a subscription. Anyone get one yet?

Nice to see Goren with another chance. Here's the link: http://www.floridapanthers.com/pressbox/ne...dki_goren.shtml

If Goon were to go with you, would you be packing the chutes?

Comments regarding Paul Martins future

There is more than one way to argue intelligence. An extra year or two of compounding interest on 750k is huge 30 years down the road, not that a 20 year old thinks that way. -
Interesting article on M. Stuart after his selection by the Bruins: http://www.hockeyjournal.com/bruins/200307...7/stuart17.html HJ: It

I agree with you, Scott. Thinking about the NHL-like teams of the early 80's, they gave up almost no chances, and the reputation of goalie's Iwabucci, Jenson, and Casey is inflated, imo, due to it (they were all good goalies). I didn't get to see the Sioux much during Goehring's years, but in the games I did see, it appeared the Sioux played a much more wide open game, and gave up lots more good chances than the early 80' teams (and the 87 team). Karl's numbers behind that team are awesome, and because of that, I have to believe he is the best Sioux goalie ever.

Concordia followed by BC; looks like a big weekend to weekend shock.

I knew it

My guess would be God. In the law according to Hammy, who knows
-
Sounds like we'll see a tandem of freshman goalies in the nets this year

I know Bina was super defensively in high school, and really popped guys trying to get to the net; a much different level of play, however, than D1 (game I saw was against Minot, with not a real good team compared to Central). Anyone see him in juniors?
-
Even though you're undefeated at the new REA, it was not a real good Sioux team that you beat. It may take some time for the Sioux to get even, given the goofed up unbalanced schedule , but it better start this year

http://www.gpstorm.com/docs/2002-2003%20NE...20off%20to%20nd The Grande Prairie site has him coming in 04-05, although the Sioux would have liked to have him this year. He wants to stick around to play his final junior year in the Royal Bank Cup, which will be played in Grande Prairie next spring. "(The Fighting Sioux) kind of wanted me to go to them this fall, but they were content with letting me play here at the Royal Bank Cup," Radke said from his central Alberta home in Bashaw Saturday. "If we weren't hosting the Royal Bank Cup, I would have left this year, but it will be a great opportunity to get exposure and the experience of playing in it." As nice as it would be to have him on this team, this year, another year of Canadian juniors can't hurt. Another noteable Grand Prairie alum = Grant Stevenson.

My favorite period to watch is the 5 goal second period wipe-out of BU in 1997, an awesome offensive display, especially the 5th goal with the period about to end; what a dominating forecheck. Don't have the 80 and 82 games, however, would sure like to see them to compare to the 87 team (since I think the 82 team was the best ever).
-
So how many strokes to get it into the second hole

This article on Ziegelman's signing lists the returning goalies. Siembida is not among them. Seems that a I remember another GFH article concerning goalies that stated Siembida had left school (or maybe it was a student poster here)? Other than that, I don't think we've seen anything official (a GFH article isn't official, is it?).

Smiega (sp??) was the third goalie who apparently was a practice goalie only. Don't know that he dressed or played. According to POI, he looks better (to some) "out of" his jersey than "in it."
-
Seems that the extras to the east get stacked in nets with the puck bunnies, although I don't know if "like cordwood" applies.
-
That's where Gopher forwards (and dmen with their penchant for going to the net) will be stacked if they venture too close to the crease
-
I think this needs to be tempered a bit, I think the Sioux transition was very good for much of the year. Then there were portions of games, or entire games, when noone, dmen or forwards could put a pass on a stick. Seemed the talent to get it done is there, just a bit of inconsistency. No matter how many Goph fans post that the Sioux defense is poor, I don't concur. If the Sioux go through a portion of next season (especially late in the season) showing inability to transition and score, I may change my mind. The Sioux's ability to score through so much of the early home schedule (with all those games against Canisius) showed us how much talent is there, in spite of the schedule. At the same time, some of the games were closer than they should have been to due to soft goals given up by the goaltending corps. Could be that the team lost confidence during that stretch in keeping the puck out of their own net, and the lack of confidence really showed up late in the season (when Brandts goaltending was very good but the offense didn't show up). It will be an interesting season. Nice that the team will be more challenged by first half opponents than they were last year.
