  1. 1:30PM Friday in the Olympic arena vs LA Kings, Sat. and Sun. TBD (Sat will be in the Olympic arena, Sunday in the main arena).
  2. It's unlikely that 4-6 will change, given the remaining schedule, the real battle is for top 3 and bottom 3. One more nit to pick, however, messed up my vcr and got just 30 minutes of the Goph/MDU second period on Sat. night. 3 goals, however, 2 for UMD, 1 for MN. Some time after the MN goal FM mentioned an assist had been taken away from a Goph dman, and DW began complaining about it, which led to DW discussing the "always 2 assists" at Grand Forks topic, yet again. DW has a problem with the Sioux, not sure what it is, but he's usually talking about something Sioux, no matter who the Goph opponent is. Usually he brings up the Sioux having no offensive dman; thought he was going there Saturday night again, but cut it off at saying UMD has no offensive dman (at least on the 30 minutes I recorded). Always think DW is funny in a bumbling sort of way, but can't figure out what his problem is.
  3. Interesting, the article predicts that Reaney and Kozek will finish 1 and 2 in scoring. This is, however, before Sunday's SA game where Duncan had a 3 point outing in a 3-2 SA win, and now leads the BCHL in goals scored, tied with Kozek for total points. Kozek had 1 goal in a Surrey win. Nice to have two future Sioux battling it out.
  4. The Gophs are currently the strong front-runner for first-half excellence, second-half swoon award. In fact, noone else is even close. They may get to lose a couple to the perennial winner, SCSU, in a couple weeks, although SCSU is not in the running for the award, given their rather poor first half
  5. Doesn't seem like the apparently easy schedule means anything, does it? We'll see how they do at Wisco this weekend.
  6. Dubay has just predicted that Duluth will pass the Sioux for home ice and will be at the final five, while the Sioux will not. Although Duluth's play has improved, still a tall order to make up the 4 points by which they trail the Sioux in the points lost category. May be just as good a chance, given the recent play of the Gophers, that the Sioux make up the 3 points by which they trail the gophers. Would love to see both the Sioux and Duluth pass the Gophers, but both (UND, UMD) have a tougher finishing schedule than MN does.
  7. True, do we even know if there are any more scholarship spots left for forwards on next year's Sioux team? Could be the Sioux would welcome him as a walkon or partial, but don't have a full scholly to give. Then again they could be like other programs and be holding on to a scholly in hopes of landing a particular player?
  8. It seems strange, given the scoring he is doing. Many of the BCHL message board posters scoff at Reaney, and make fun of him being fat, etc. Course, what do message board posters know anyway? We've gained a boatload of questionable posters here this year, many with sioux-fan like usernames, who do little more than flame the Sioux, including one posting in many threads today (scorengoren), not to mention the poncho, lefty, and sal combo.

    BSU Saturday

Sioux climbed without the Maine bonus, although the bonus would bump them up a bit higher. Maine hangs in at 15 RPI so the 2 quality road wins are still there, but barely. Right now a 3,2,1 bonus bumps the Sioux from 11 to 9. Big help is that both MDU and SCSU have climbed above .500 RPI, and are now TUC's, and the Sioux gain a PWR point on each of those two. BTW, BSU remains a TUC, although barely, so the Sioux currently have a PWR point vs them also. The Sioux still can't afford many more losses; could be that the first round of the WCHA playoffs, if it ends up being MDU vs. UND, could mean the loser out of the NCAA's. For Duluth it will very likely mean just that, and the Sioux could play their way to that scenario also.

    BSU Saturday

That is bad news; had forgotten about the first DQ. Bad penalty to take leaving the team without him next weekend. Seemed like a two team race (MDU, UND) for the last home ice spot, but MN has now made it a three team race for 4th-6th. Sweep the Gophs next week, Wisco, make it even more interesting.

    BSU Saturday

Someone who was at the game will have to tell us what happened, didn't see it on TV.
  12. True, Radke got the second goal, off a Zajac faceoff win back to Stafford who dropped it to Radke for a screened shot from the point. Nice shot. No minute by minute updates on scoring anywhere that I know of, except in the score updates threads, here and at uscho.

    BSU Saturday

JPar in net tonight. Sedevie for BSU.
  14. Streaming audio from the hockey link is up and running this morning, after a lengthy absence. Audio
  15. So who wins the beer on a tie?
  16. Beavers totally backed off the forecheck in the third protecting the lead, and it cost them. After the Sioux tied it, Beavers were immediately all over the Sioux on the forecheck again. Beavers forecheck was very effective, Sioux's was non-existent. Not a good show, in spite of the comeback.
  17. Sioux look similar to the way they played in the 6-0 butt kicking by MN. Have to hope BSU goes into a prevent, although I'm not sure the Sioux could score even then. For guys that were anxious to play again after the 1-0 loss to CC, looks like they've lost interest in the week off. Maybe an entire team ice fishing hangover.
  18. THe ice stinks; basketball has to go back to the arena that was built for basketball Not a good defensive show by the Sioux. BSU saved a goal by Spirko late in the period by holding his stick. BSU was the better team for most of that period. Sioux have to start dumping and chasing. Passing and catching are near impossible on this ice surface. And you're right, Schneider didn't show much interest in tieing up anyone in front of the net.
  19. another question, will streaming audio ever work again this year?
  20. BTW, the siouxsports ringtones and wallpaper work on my Verizon CDMA LG phone.
  21. Posted in another thread but the AHL all star game will be shown on ESPN2
  22. Roche Named to All Star Team And, the PlanetUSA team. Bochenski and Parise both named. The game will be televised on ESPN2, Feb 14, 7PM EST
  23. Sounds like Murray may not be back for the Denver series. I was at the CC series and will be at the Denver series, both without Murray

  25. You mean like the poi crew is doing You'd like to see similar nonsense here. I'd guess you and partners didn't go out for a brew after a game you attended in GF? Winter weekends without hockey appears to be "not a good thing". I'm sure Greene will get what is deserved, as do many college kids.
