Wonder why the much discussed espn article critisizing USA Hockey's organization and comparing it to the much better Canadian organization didn't mention these Canadian methods: 1. Threaten Canadian kids and their families with barring them from future junior international competition (should the kid choose the NCAA route). 2. Threaten that the CHL will drop family member draft status. 3. Barring US born players from the CHL. Canada sees the gap closing between Canadian and US hockey, as US teams that were competitive only occasionally at the international level now compete every year. By closing their borders to young players going in either direction, Canada will hasten the end of the hockey dominance they still enjoy. Jonathan and family will be welcomed to the Sioux should he come, but I hope he and family aren't ripped by the fans and press down here should he choose the MJ route. They are getting plenty of that from their own country right now.

Not working so far here either. Mankato's link if needed: http://msustr0.campus.mnsu.edu:8080/KDOG

Agreed, couldn't remember all of them. I believe Kesler was a big part of the offense also, wasn't he? If there was one dman that got singled out during that tournament for getting burned frequently, it was Carle. Seems that the experience was a good thing for him though, since he finished the season as one of the blue line mainstays on the NCAA championship team, and by all reports seems to be as solid or more so this year.

Wow, was there enough criticism to go around for that writer. Did appear they could have used a couple good stay at home dmen, not sure if the 3 the writer says were overlooked would fill that bill or not. Guess we'll never know. I'd assume the organization, which got tons of praise last year, hasn't changed. May be hard to measure how much the leadership (and play) of Stuart and Parise meant to last year's team. Suter logged lots of ice time and was no doubt the best defensive dman, but he turned the puck over a multitude of times when trying to rush it up ice, including during the Christmas Day win over the Russians. Had the US put one of those great chances past Schwartz (sp?) in OT, I'd guess everyone would be happy.
-
I have trouble beleiving that point output for dmen is major in producing a hobey candidate, but no doubt it is. At any rate, imo Matt Jones is the Sioux's best candidate.

Wow, if you thought the US team sounded bad singing the US anthemn last year, you ought to hear this crowd sing Oh Canada. NOw back to college hockey.
-
BTW, I believe the all tourney team USA reps were Stafford, Fritche (sp?), and Suter. MVP Bergeron
-
That's it, 6-1 Canada. Shots 32-19. Dominated everyone start to finish. First time the gold medal game has been won by more than 3 goals.
-
The crowd is singing. PP over, under 2 minutes left.
-
Here are a couple others if you want to try them while you're "looking". http://www.fan590.com http://www.jr-digital.com/asx/cjcl.asx

Russians will get another PP with 5 minutes plus left in the game. Little happening in this period.
-
That one has worked best for me; the others rebuffer constantly.
-
Bet it's just another antic, to avoid being on the ice getting his arse kicked. He'll be the Koby of the NHL.
-
Canada in a Dahl stall, but they're good at it Better get the Oh Canada CD in at the REA; it's going to be playing soon. Sounds good in the background of all that noise in theralph. Ovechkin at the end of the bench with no helmet and gloves on, and arm in a sling under his jersey. Hasn't recorded a single shot on goal. Guess he is afraid to be on the ice.
-
Alone at work, or singing in the shower?
-
Third underway; remaining Canada penalty expires. Full strength both teams.
-
Canada, for the first time, does not score on the PP, and a 5 minute at that. They came very close, but the Russian goalie made the saves. Canada with a penalty (MacArthur, charging) with less than a minute left in the second. Period over, 6-1, shots 28-11.
-
Russian cheap shots Dawes, cuts him (face). 5 minute major. Canada may reach double figures before P2 ends.
-
Kneeing on Russia; Canada PP coming up. Phaneuf scores right away; 6-1 (clap, clap) Russia may have to form a search team to find Khudobin, who has disappeared after being pulled.
-
Canada shots now over 20, Russia still at 9, I believe. Russia has given up, Canada's hitting is destroying them Haven't heard Ovechkin or Malkin all period; don't believe they've had the puck.
-
Stewart scores, redirecting a Dawes shot/pass, 5-1
-
Canada getting a too many men penalty. Russia continues to look for calls on every Canada hit. Russia now gets a hit from behind, probably boarding? 16 secs of 4 on 4. Bergeron scores on the PP on a rebound of a Crosby shot. 4-1 Canada's hitting has Russia totally out of sync.
-
Carter makes it 3-1 3:33 in. Yeah. Russia changing goalies.
-
Second underway; Canada has the good chances early, but still 2-1. Russian is down acting hurt, but looks around to see if anyone in stripes is taking an interest. Guess not, so he has to get up and take part in the game. Canadian broadcasters are laughing at him.
