I would guess with a 5-3 they still have to make it to the X for the final five, and maybe even win the play-in game in order to get two more games against teams that are highly ranked in PWR. The big question is, can this team sweep Duluth and MTU at the REA? Maybe finishing at 6 and going on the road is a good thing, given the home record. It will mean going to either CC or SCSU, more than likely.

Again early in period 2 Sioux created some great chances. Little or nothing however in the last 10 minutes. Sioux are due for a deflection to find the net. Can't remember the last one, but they must have had at least one against Mankato. Schmidt has put away the whistle; don't imagine he'll get it out for the third.

That period was called much tighter than any period last night. SC must get a lot of favorable refereeing to be penalized so little so far this year. Lots of hooking, holding, and interference. To their credit no cheap shots or after the whistle garbage.

Me also; let's just not go into the Mich Tech series on the bubble. The 5 vs 6 WCHA series looks to be a tough one, no matter who gets home ice.
