Seems like they were in the 7-12 area late in the season, before the conference tournament. Not sure it's ever happened that only 1 team (Canisius) not in the top 16 pwr stole a slot in the tourney (at Western Michigan's expense). Here's the number of wins by teams in the tourney, in order of seeding , 1 through 16: 3-0-2-0-1-0-1-1-0-0-0-1-2-0-4-0, or, 1 seeds-5 wins, 2 seeds-3 wins, 3 seeds-1 win, 4 seeds-6 wins Have to admit when sitting in Fargo and heading to watch the Sioux/Niagara game, when I saw the Gophers had lost in OT, couldn't help but think, The Sioux are going to the FF, now can they beat Lowell if Lowell gets there. Same way I felt when HC beat the Gophers in GF.

Based on one and done results it would appear the EZAC is the best conference this year. Better than the WCHA, HE, and CCHA. now lets see if SCSU or Lowell can prove that wrong, at least for the best in HE and WCHA.

Can ESPN make it any more difficult to watch NCAA hockey. Fargo bars are loaded with Sioux fans, hard to find a place to sit, but we got a place in BWW yesterday, kind of a neck crank to watch, Bulldog Tap looks like a good place to watch, but better be there way ahead of time or you can't get in. Please give this back to Fox, so we can see hockey wherever we are.

Good the games are early in the day, as you don't want to be in any kind of bar at night in any of these oil towns. Two more killed in Williston/Tioga last weekend.

Right in front of us, not a 5, at best a weak 2. Expected it to be at least a 2 given CC was in the lead and it was the Gophers. Not surprised the 5 was given for the same reason. Big Shep must have thought that gift was enough; if the Gophers couldn't come back with 5 minutes, no more freebies.

The dead silence in the St. Paul streets going back to the car last night was pleasant compared to the loud "Sioux Suck" that was going on Thursday night. Will also be odd to have both fan bases cheering for the same team on Saturday night.

Recipe for winning so far, good goaltending,for losing, giving up one or more weak ones. Much more obvious this year than in any year I can remember.

Would be fun to see a future B1G matchup in the first round of the regionals, much as I'd like to see Michigan stay home altogether.

And we hope they don't bring out the lumber in the third, but I suspect it may happen. Don't need injuries or fights at this point, they are toast.
