  1. Totally agree, Danny had great initial script for the game and had the Jacks off balance. The pick 6 changed it all. Even on the 3rd TD drive Belquist made a great catch on a long sideline throw(25 yards) and then we got incredibly lucky on that long flee flicker to Wright(34 yards), Tommy should not have thrown that ball. We need to learn how to play with the lead. SDSU was very well prepared and made some solid adjustments.
  2. We KNOW they didn't practice that play(its an option play, tommy decides based on what he sees to hand off or throw it) enough with #84 in the middle of the trips set and a DB in tight coverage over the top of him. They had run same play near goal line on second drive and Tommy handed it to smith.
  3. It’s obvious they did not practice it enough with that personnel, against that defense enough. I’m not trying to be difficult, when mistakes are made that obvious, it’s on the coaches and lack of preparedness. The UND360 guys infer the WR had a brain cramp. That’s not how football works. That’s not how life works. There was nothing “lucky/unlucky” about the punch-out fumble either. The only luck involved was that SDSU recovered it.
  4. Are you inferring the dback didn’t recognize the play? If you know as much as I think you probably know about the Hawks, you likely know what the play is by formation, personnel and/or motion. That mistake isn’t on Tommy, it’s on the staff.
  5. Of course I’m with the Hawks. Next four games are huge on multiple levels.
  6. But it did happen and it can be directly linked to coaching. SDSU recognized a combo of personnel and formation and knew what was coming. Tommy had not practiced the opponent recognition on that play enough to recognize the danger signs and throw it away or tuck it and run. You are correct, it was a HUGE play in the game.
  7. 3 plays?
  8. Yeah looked awful, feel bad for him. Will give krzanowski another shot at the field? #44 has not been much as much of a factor so far this season, not sure what has been going on there.
  9. We have to win 3 of last 4 to make playoffs unless one of those wins is in Fargo, otherwise our resume is not good and best win could be against Abilene Christian. Right now we have no wins against “good” teams.
  10. Lots of great points as usual. No other sport is as determined by coaching as football. Luck can be involved in certain plays(sometimes momentum changers) but over time luck is made not found. I would argue the pick 6, the pick before the half, the punt return, the fumble in 2nd half and the Ko return had more to do with preparation than anything else. Mid 2nd quarter I was telling myself we had finally “rounded the corner”, this morning a sober Hawk knows we haven’t…and quite frankly, that sucks. If we win 3 of the next 4, we should be in the playoffs, at this point that will not be easy, but IMO it is mandatory for the program, the fan base and recruiting. Go Hawks!
  11. I’m sure you are correct, but a 42 yard fg is not automatic for us. A 10-15 yard completion there improves our chances at a FG. Gave them momentum going into half and we never got the momentum back.
  12. Danny did a great job scripting the first drive+ of the game. The pick 6 was huge and Gabe the Jacks soem life. We did respond a couple of possessions later with a fantastic drive to go up 21-7. I thought maybe we had recovered. I was wrong. I don’t understand the play call before the half . A FG would have been huge to go up 2 scores. Instead we threw a very low % pass which was intercepted. That was bad football. A question for all of you, is Danny’s offense built to keep us in games ? Does it have the ability to keep and build in leads and put teams away?
  13. The Hawks playoff run officially starts on Saturday. Lose any of the next 3 games and the playoff quest is over, barring an upset in Fargo. It seems we have watched this movie before?
  14. This basically tells the story of the game. UND had a great drive to start the game had a drive on a very short field after a great punt return and then had a great drive in 2nd quarter. After we got up 21-7 the offense faltered badly until we were behind by 21. At that point, the only thing SDSU had done was take advantage of a bad throw by Tommy. SDSU obviously made some adjustments at halftime that helped theri cause and UND made a lot of mistakes. The pick before half vs points for UND was the turning point for me. The second half we just pissed the game away and gave them points and a short field. SDSU had 3 good drives the entire game.
  15. Disappointing day to say the least. We caught SDSU napping and then pissed it down our leg . Offense was awful after we scored 21.
  16. USD beat SIU today.
  17. I agree. We had them with a hangover, had them down and then they put it to us.
  18. White is bad. That’s sucks.
  19. Much different now that we are behind than when we were up by 14. That’s when you pound it with your biggest back.
  20. TD drive now!
  21. Happened so fast. Someone needs tot take charge now!
  22. Still time, but how does this happen?
  23. Unreal.
  24. How about we run hoosman more than one play on a row.
  25. WTF is going on. Let’s play some ball again.
