It is past the point of wow. They came out flat last night, Cam Miller was way off on his throws, NDSU had no answer for the Word QB. They persevered and adjusted. Props to them. What they have done will never be done again at any level. As a Hawk, it sucks, as a fan of football its amazing. They beat us this fall because we continually get caught up in the fact they are NDSU, they won last night because they knew they were going to win. Sun Tzu.

I hate NDSU but you have to give them respect. They just do their thing and keep winning. Frustrating. We will get to have another 5-7 win season next fall.

Do we have anyone better? If we do, why were they not playing this fall. I knew we were going to struggle early on D with all the personnel losses from 2021, but the D never came together. Have we ever considered it NOT being the personnel, but the coaching on defense?

If we think we are going to make improvements through the portal, gonna be a long wait.

There is only one way this changes. I think we all know what that way is.

This may be the route. FBS is undergoing massive changes which of course will affect G5 and FCS football in a massive way. NIL, the transfer portal and the incredible TV contract $ are going to likely leave 4 P5 conferences which will have even more massive resources than G5 and FCS. Top FCS schools should go G5, including much of MVFC.

Jaxson Turner, Noah Larson and Ty Shannon. I knew the defense would take some time to rebuild, but it just never came together.

You need to look closer at his results and the context.

You make an interesting point about the transfer portal. How many of the really good UND players, and for that matter other great FCS players, would have transferred out in the past after a really good freshman year? Gonna be fascinating to see how this all pans out.

Giant Bingo, which was a secondary subject of the thread. To Bubba and the staffs credit, a winless season or a 1-2 win season is almost as unlikely as a national championship season.

I think things will be much the same as far as coaching and personnel. Here is a very early prediction on the 2023 season...
