  1. I think BH got out while the getting was good, but time will tell. How do we think this team will stop the run next season? The offense will need to score 35 a game to win. Anyone have any updates from Spring Ball?
  2. Are we sure Holinka didn’t get out on his own terms before next season? Without major upgrades at LB and S(I don’t see it at this point), how is the defense going to be any better?
  3. Bubba is a great man. I am just tired of being 1-2 games over .500 or 1-2 games under .500, with games lost to questionable coaching. Facilities have nothing to do with X’s and O’s. Washington is a great example . Only thing which changed in Seattle, is X’s and O’s, culture and game management. If being a the best man won championships, we would need a gymnasium to house all the hardware won over the last decade. We should be in Frisco today. We should be there 25% of the time, minimum.
  4. Coaching doesn't matter...
  5. @UND1983 etal : "The coaching staff along with Baukol consistently develop the worst talent in the MVFC into a team which is consistently a game over .500". Credit where credit is due...
  6. We are a game or two over .500 or under .500 every season because we are not lucky and NSDU and SDSU battle for championships every season because they are just "lucky"...
  7. Both bad, but we went for it at our own 20 yard line on 4th and 1...with the lead... in the 3rd quarter...against NDSU...with the lead. I don't think the NDSU debacle will ever be topped, but the double reverse just reinforces my overall point.
  8. How does that contradict what I have said? Danny called the play, Danny works for Bubba. Why do so many of you make excuses for mediocrity over and over again? Over time there is NO LUCK involved in winning and losing football games. The 4th down vs NDSU is probably the worst situational football move I can remember. If anyone can think of a worse situational move by a college or NFL football coach, let me know.
  9. I agree, I m sure Danny called the play. I’m sure Bubba saw it run in pravtice, I’m sure they speak on Sunday game-planning, during the week and pre game. The debacle vs NDSU was a “trick play” too. Burned badly on both. Neither involved sound situational football which reinforces my larger point.
  10. I am saying that play was not run enough successfully in practice and that is why it was a cluster.... in the game. That is how football works.
  11. The first play lost the game . That’s not championship football. It’s a BS play call and happens all the time. Like I said I would be the farm the play was run less than 5 times in practice that week and likely successful less than half the time.
  12. In case anyone has forgotten UND was dominating the game at that point, up 28-17 with 6:32 left. 4th and 2 at Missouri State 29 yard line. We direct snap to Otis, he hands it to Bo who is going to throw a pass to Q. I would love to know how many times that play worked flawlessly in practice. As for fault, its Bubba's fault. That is how football works.
  13. I watched him on a few plays, one being where he lined up on the right in unbalanced and he was 20 yards downfield blocking a DB. Very impressive every play I watched him. Was he a 5 star recruit? Why don't we ever develop any lineman like that? If we have lately, someone please remind me.
  14. I disagree on the recruiting(it can always be better). Look at this fall. Look at last fall. Which had better players. It's easy to make the case that the coaching decisions were directly responsible for a minimum of 2 loses in 2021 fall season. Who were all the great players playing for NDSU Friday night? A LT who came to Fargo at 225 pounds? Is the the great recruit or was he developed? The QB who completed 1 pass? I saw a team which used home field advantage and some great coaching adjustments to beat a superior team. I hate the frickin' Bison with a passion, but that is what I saw.
  15. Go back and look a the film. Two handoffs and then a throw. Q was going out for a pass. I admit, Friday and Saturday was tough for me. We are not only the little weak brother to NDSU at this point, we are also the little weak brother to SDSU. This staff has reached its Zenith, however long it is in place, we will be treated to frustrating 5-7 win seasons, with an occasional 3-4 wins and if everything falls into place 8-9 wins. It could be worse, we could be Indiana State or Western Illinois, but that level of football would not be accepted in Grand Forks.
  16. The entire season was lost on that play, probably the pinnacle of his career at UND. I love Bubba as a man, but that was an indefensible sequence.
  17. Do you forget the first fumble was a trick play?
  18. Do you think we could have beaten Weber? Even with some weakness in Defense? Were we prepared? How did we do in the first half? Many of the same tendencies, especially on the road?
  19. Just being honest . Bubba gave the game away vs the national champions last fall, win that game and everything is different. The game was also given away at MSU, horrible game @USD, could have won at SIU? after a decade of this, the alternative is that we have woefully inadequate players, facilities and the staff is all that keeps us from being a bottom dweller. You get to pick which you think is closer to the truth. befire making you decision, make sure you watch fall if 2021 games vs The SU’s….
  20. Last falls team. Yes. This years team would have made it to today with either staff.
  21. Yoo are just showing how little you know about football. Cheers.
  22. Bubba handed the game to Petrino in 2021. No idea why you are so riled up by Petrino or myself? No idea why you would defend Bubba as a football coach vs Petrino. Petrino soring 2020 team was terrible and yet he still won a MVFC and made the playoffs. If Entz and staff or steiglemeier and staff had coached UNDs team they would have still been playing today. 2021 team would have been in Frisco. Some of you will lose your mind over this, but coaching is supreme in football. If you disagree with it’s me are you saying that Bubba is taking a less talented team and getting to .500 via coaching supremacy? Is that really what you think?
  23. If we are talking about building an FCS program for the long term, I agree. A guy like Petrino who has coached at the top is never going to be satisfied coaching in the FCS.
  24. Unfortunately they don’t go hand in hand . You all forget Petrino took over a perennial doormat and instantly made it relevant winning a conference championship in his first year and qualifying for the playoffs 2 of 3 years . As a football coach there is no comparison . Again I would much rather have Bubba as a neighbor or relative. Petrino wins football games. did we all forget he did this at Missouri state? Yes that Missouri state. They had one win seasons how many times before he arrived?
  25. I said football coaching not character. Bubba is a much better man, I thought we were talking as a football coach.
