Sorry for the delay, Here were the final picks for Round 2: Since I didn't get picks from luapsided and stickboy1956, they were elminated. Round 2: jodcon - Gregs, Kristo Nice pick... ;-)

KRACH is the only rating system not biased by humans. It now says UND is #1... 6 more wins to end the regular season in style. The 2 St. Cloud games are likely the toughest.

Knight Gregoire

I heard Bye's strength of schedule is near that of Yale.

My wife wins the championship. I wonder if she will taunt me?

Kristo is a pretty good 3rd liner...

Huh? Must be a recruited walk on / depth type of player. He is a 90 so he will arrive at about 21. From MD, and 6'2" 190. Wonder if there is anticipation of someone leaving early.

Interesting topic on FightingSioux.com. Go an vote for your all REA team. Here is mine. *2. Goaltenders (Choose 3):: Eidsness, Brad | Lamoureux, Jean-Philippe | Parise, Jordan *3. Defensemen (Choose 6):: Chorney, Taylor | Genoway, Chay | Greene, Matt | Hale, David | Schneider, Andy | Smaby, Matt *4. Forwards (Choose 9):: Duncan, Ryan | Oshie, T.J. | Parise, Zach | Porter, Chris | Stafford, Drew | Toews, Jonathan | Trupp, Evan | VandeVelde, Chris | Zajac, Travis I thought that 3 was too generous for goalie. I am pretty comfortable with my defensmen but had to consider #6 pretty hard. I would have liked to get Bina in there. Forwards were tough, The top 5 or 6 will be pretty standard, but after that there were some hard choices. Next year I could see Frattin, Malone, Kristo, Gregoire on the list. I did have a bias for 3+ years. I suspect the poll will have a bias towards more recent players except people like Parise.

Wow, when I read the topic I thought he might have pulled a Kessel...

Sam should fit right in... Q&A with Sam LaShomb of South St. Paul 01/04/2011, 2:32pm (CST) By Ron Haggstrom, Star Tribune What did you work on in the offseason? Getting better, getting stronger. Doing whatever I can do to set myself apart from all the other hockey players. If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Make checking legal in girls' hockey. Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux because that's where I am going to school and they have by far the best team name and logo in the country.

I was just looking at the PWR matchups and was looking at the Maine matchup. Those H2H losses hurt, but it appears that Maine has sucked against everyone else (different officials?). I also think that the second that Maine plays their 10th TUC game they are going to drop like a rock and UND will instantly flip that comparison. This will leave us 1 short of Yale's total. Assuming we stay strong we will be #1 in the west regardless of where Yale ends up...

I still think she could drop Cepis with 3 swings.

It was mentioned here that they are interested.

Here is an article discussing Archibald. Brainards wins championship. I went to the championship and watched Archibald again. He carried his team to a win against a far deeper team. Brainard played with 14 skaters. Archibald played all phases of the game and scored two brilliant goals one shorthanded where he skated by a defender like he was standing still and one blast from the point. He has a cannon of a shot, in the semi is look inaccurate, but in the finals it was much better. I don't think he left the ice much in the third period. If anything stood out it was how good of a skater he was. He also played very unselfish, sometimes maybe too much so. I am mor esold on him as a D1 player after seeing him the 2nd time.

I went and watched Josh Archibald and Brainard play yesterday. They were playing New Richmond, WI so neither team was world class. Alot of offense largely due to poor D and goaltending, Brainard won 7-6. Archibald was hands down the best player on the ice. Good speed and stickhandling. Hard shot, but so-so accuracy. Never passed up an opportunity to make a hit, nothing cheap, but he didn't ever pull up either. He played both ends well and moved back to defense for the last minute of the game. Brainard was well coached, and played Sioux hockey. Lots of diving to stop shots and hard hitting. Archibald was listed at 5'10" which is small which was harder to notice against a small, weak, New Richmond team. He is plenty strong, but would have a harder time in the WCHA. I was told there were a number of scouts including Hak at the Grand Rapids / Brainard team earlier in the year. In that game Brainard and Archibald really didn't play well and the game featured fights and an ejected coach. No word on any water bottles. Not sure if he has gotten an additional looks since then. My guess is that he will go USHL and may be a potential recruited walk / lower line or depth player on after a year of two of juniors. I would compare him to a less polished Brett Hextall in terms of size and style.

The recruiting pitch for Mario Lucia should go like this, "There is only one way to ensure that we don't do to you, what we did to your brother..."
