Congrats to the hopefully 2, maybe 3 seniors. Tough loss, Yale played really well and deserved the win. I think that big picture we will look back at this team as a team that really overachieved. 25 wins with the youngest team in the WCHA and without your best player is a point of pride. Some programs would kill for a WCHA Final Five Championship. Sioux Yeah Yeah

I will miss Woog, he was a little bit of a homer, but genuinely loved the game, and gave credit where due a number of times. Also a great guy. Last night I watched the recording of the 2nd and 3rd Sioux Gopher playoff games. Frank, don't let the door hit you on the a$$ on the way out. He was completely out of line and borderline delusional in his ongoing whining. On another topic, I will be counting Cepis dives next year. Somebody needs to pound that guy into a new sport. Somebody needs to go Rylan Kaip on him...

Sorry to waste a thread on this, however as stupid threads that I am responsible for go, this wouldn't make the top 10... I will be in DC this weekend, and relying on public transit. Is there a place where I can catch the games? Preferably walking distance to a subway stop.

OK so here is my NERD take on where we stand. The short answer is yes, we can quite easily move up. We are almost certainly going to lose comparisons to Denver, Wisconsin, and Miami, but we can still get a #1 seed with #4 overall. Right now we are 2 comparisons behind BC, and are losing 5 total. The three above and BC and Alaska. I we flip the BC comparison we gain 2 and pass them up because we will likely have the better RPI. The TUC system is really dumb and arbitrary because there is a cutoff at 25. If you look, BC wins this but almost all of there wins are against the teams currently ranked 23-25. I would expect that some or all of these teams will slip (one of which is actually playing BC). Then UND very well could flip TUC, that matchup, and become #4 overall. If BC wins this weekend it helps the Sioux and if BC loses this weekend it helps the Sioux. Alaska is in a similar situation where there just aren't many TUCs they have played. In Northern Michigan can eliminate Alaska this weekend, look for that comparison to flip. Bottom line is that the Sioux likely control their own destiny for a #1 seed. This is important because I think that there are only 2 teams in the nation that can beat the Sioux if the Sioux play their best game. Denver and Wisconsin, that doesn't mean they will, but these are the class of the NCAA and if we get a #1 seed we can avoid them until Detroit. My guess is that if UND wins out we will be the #1 seed in St. Paul. Bottom line, people sitting in a smoke filled room SUCKS, PWR SUCKS less, KRACH rules and takes human bias out of the picture.

Here is a player to watch from a younger Shattuck team. Taylor Cammarata F 9 5/13/1995 5'8" 150 Plymouth, MN 58 92 78 170 8 92 goals and 170 points in 58 games for the 9th grader. The next closest player on the team has about 100 points.

I remain a strong supporter of Hak and this team. Real fans check in here. This is not the best Sioux team that I have seen, but the best team I saw lost 1-0 on Denver and did not win a title. If healthy this team can put together 4 wins against anyone and therefore is a title contender. Go Sioux...

It's been tough so far, but take away the blown call in Duluth and we would be 3 points out of first.

Wow, who would have though that a blue chipper like Nick Mattson might end up as the 3rd best d-man in his class... I think we may see Marto at forward, perhaps even if Chay comes back this year.

Friday - Kristo Sat - Malone

ND is down this year, but may be good. Maine is way down. This is the weakest non conference schedule I can remember.

Ok Big Picture. Sweep Cornell (maybe get 2 points) and we basically will walk into the NCAAs. We have a very good goaltender who can get hot for 4 games. Our team would be MUCH better with Hextall, Knight, and Genoway, obviously. Based on what I say on the ice I also question if Rowney, Trupp, and Marto are healthy. I was wondering who would sit if Chay can get back and after attending both games in MSP unfortunately the choice is easy. LaPoint is not giving this team anything, he is not hitting, skating, passing, or shooting well, I don't know if the injury is still an issue, but he was awful in MSP.
