I have said many times and I maintain that we would be lowering our standards to let that mediocre institution in. I would rather play with 6 than invite these clowns.

I just wonder who will be a surprise much like Rodwell shocked many of us with just how good he was.

Thanks or the analysis +1, I am a little disappointed that Nelson is only up 7, it seems he and Simpson needed it the most. In fairness he entered the summer hurt.

Don't ruin my buzz...

I agree, this NCHC is HUGE, we don't NEED anyone at this point, perhaps we wait for a future program that would bring national exposure like Iowa State, St. Thomas, Marquette, Colorado, Texas, or a PAC 10 school.

Yeah if I were a gambler I would say Fasching to the gophs, but I hope not...

All that the site said was what was posted, no name given. Just a local 16 year old.

Cross post... OK first caveat, Walters is a stark raving idiot... But I hope he is talking about Hudson Fasching. I also assume that they are not talking about Voltin as that ship has sailed... Here are the possibilities. Goaltenders Hunter Miska 5-10 150 7/7/95 L North Branch, Minn. North Branch High School Defensemen 44 Clint Lewis 6-2 180 1/12/95 L Burnsville, Minn. Shattuck-St. Mary's U16 Forwards 55 Hudson Fasching 6-3 190 7/28/95 R Burnsville, Minn. Apple Valley High School

Thinking about it, I would rather have Tech than St. Cloud, at least Tech has a proud history, a cool trophy, and far fewer hypocritical anti-Semites... I can't get past my dislike of that school...

I'd rather have 7 teams than St. Cloud.

Oops, thanks. Did fargo draft him?

I never realized how big Fargo getting a USHL team would be for UND. Every player in the USHL Including the USNDTP players has an easy 80 mile trip to do an informal or official visit to UND. In addition to Zane, and Coach Marks, Charlie Pelnik is also there. Blake Clark is another big young kid in Fargo, I believe. If you want one more connection, I believe that Gabe Guertler also played on Team Illinois with Jack Rowe. I other semi-related news, I am still waiting to see where Hudson Fasching and Seth Jones end up. I mean seriously Seth, you are a 6'4" defender, there is only one place for you...

Relief...

Even though I only spent 2 years there, I can't imagine how anybody who is part of the Grand Forks community would ever not want to be a part of UND hockey.

Right on. Some players are recovering from injuries, but the cool thing here is that the players we have coming in are quite likely 3 or 4 year players.

OK so losing Miller (as well as Gregoire) like we did really stings, but we should still have a solid team by the end of the season. I would go so far to say that a top six of Kristo- Knight-Grimaldi, Rodwell-Nelson-Rowney might be one of the best top 6 forward lines in the nation. Add the potentially best defense and goaltending and we have a shot...

We could be the first rodent free super 8...

The reality is that the 5 remaining teams in the WCHA will never, ever, ever play consistently at North Dakota's level. Sure there might be an occasional great year, but how many titles do those schools have in the last 30 years? Tech has some history, but other than that it is a group second tier hockey schools. They can now compete for an auto bid. Niceties aside, I am not sure that BSU hasn't beaten UND in my lifetime. On another note St. Clown who has banned announcers from saying, "Sioux" can now kiss our a$$... I expect the new league will invest in NHL quality refs, a real media campaign, and major market penetration. I also expect there to be much less WCHA style mugging by weaker programs. Look for a faster paced, more skill oriented, more offensive game. Also recruiting will be better hear than a watered down WCHA. My favorite road trips, UNO and UMD are going to be yearly.

These guys can probably come off the future recruits list.
