  1. Thanks for the tips. Added here: http://wiki.siouxsports.com/doku.php/sioux_recruiting
  2. Yeah, I listed many players that I didn't really think would be there, I just wanted to show potential numbers. Not that I am a nerd, but I keep a spreadsheet...
  3. Yup, like rebuilding a once great program...
  4. I went to my first ever women's game at Mankato. Kind of nice to walk in and sit right behind the bench and cheer on the Sioux. The game was Sioux domination, but I can see how a good goaltender can steal alot of women's games. The twins were the best player on the ice hands down. I was also impressed by the Sioux goaltending and also Jordan Slavin. Throw a few more Olympians in and WOW... I did think it was funny that the coaches always seemed to be yelling to Jordan about her positioning. It occurred to me that the first Mankato game may have been the first without TV timeouts which has the effect of greatly reducing the twins playing time.
  5. fail... For all we know he has already committed or decided not to come, we don't always know right away. Further with today's commits we are pretty full until 2013.
  6. And while we are at it here is the D picture. 8 is typically the desired number. 2011 (7) Ben Blood Andrew MacWilliam Joe Gleason Ryan Hill Dillon Simpson Derek Forbort Nick Mattson 2012 (7) Andrew MacWilliam Joe Gleason Ryan Hill Dillon Simpson Derek Forbort Nick Mattson Jordan Schmaltz 2013 (4) Dillon Simpson Derek Forbort Nick Mattson Jordan Schmaltz
  7. I count 18 possible forwards for 2011: Mario Lamoureux Jason Gregoire Brett Hextall Danny Kristo Mike Cichy Corban Knight Brett Bruneteau Carter Rowney Derek Rodwell Brock Nelson Taylor Dicken Rocco Grimaldi Mark MacMillan Colten St. Clair Michael Parks Brendan O'Donnell Danny Mattson JT Miller Figure that Gregoire and Kristo COULD go early. Mattson will likely come and I have a hard time seeing who defers a year. Similarly the Sioux have the potential for 16 forwards already in 2012: Danny Kristo Mike Cichy Corban Knight Brett Bruneteau Carter Rowney Derek Rodwell Brock Nelson Taylor Dicken Rocco Grimaldi Mark MacMillan Colten St. Clair Michael Parks Brendan O'Donnell Danny Mattson JT Miller Stefan Matteau And already there are potentially 13 forwards in 2013: Derek Rodwell Brock Nelson Taylor Dicken Rocco Grimaldi Mark MacMillan Colten St. Clair Michael Parks Brendan O'Donnell Danny Mattson JT Miller Stefan Matteau Miles Koules Jack Rowe And yes the Sioux will lose some forwards early. That said I think that we are near the end for forwards until 2013...
  8. Needed to start this thread, and let us never speak of this last weekend again. I predict the Sioux come out with something to prove on Friday and take 3 or 4 points on the weekend. Frattin for Hobey?
  9. Haven't had a MacMillan update for awhile, is he healthy then?
  10. I think your Kelly green shaded glasses have you a little delusional when it comes to the Lucia family. Keep in mind that Tony was one of the few hard nose Gopher players on some pretty underachieving teams. The game plan in the playoffs last year was to pound Tony. A family member has told me that Mario is the best player in the family, hands down. Mario will have his choice of a number of schools and where ever he goes, they will get a smart, well coached, hard working kid who also has good size. Should he be interested in playing in Grand Forks, I suspect that we would be happy. Also, just like I said with Tony, if he did play for us every time he scored against dad it would be like ripping off his arm and beating him with it...
  11. 613 on DirecTV with the sports package.
  12. Completely ripping off AZSioux... The Sioux will try to keep pace with Michigan Tech. Fighting Sioux Hockey home page Beavers Hockey home page
  13. Time for us to win 28 in a row...
  14. Cepis is such a POS... Contact to the head, but a nice acting job as well, and another penalty...
  15. Friday - Knight Saturday - Frattin
  16. Team bus rear ended , no team members hurt . http://undhockey.areavoices.com/2010/10/14/team-bus-rear-ended/ I supposed players get much worse from MacWilliam in practice.
  17. No goal on the scorers sheet = no goal...
  18. Wow, 2 minutes into the season and I have exceeded last years best performance...
  19. Fri - Malone Sat - Hextall
  20. If LaPoint sits for Simpson I'll eat my shoe...
  21. Good call, definitely a goal.
  22. Wow, not a bad start. The passing and positioning was not always crisp. It was hard not to be really impressed with Forbert. He looks 100% WCHA ready. He created the Gregoire goal, and had other flashes of brilliance on both offense and D. Gregoire was the best player on the ice. Knight was not far behind. I COULD see Kristo on the 3rd line. Genoway, looked good, but not yet the brilliant player we saw 9 times last year. The shot and timing were a little off. I was a little disappointed that Rodwell did not dress, but that tells me he is likely a project this season. Simpson looked like a 17 year old, but how many 17 year old players dress for the Sioux. Nelson had a few flashes, and it was hard not to see TJ Oshie out there. He has that same stickhandling in a phone booth skill set. Though he played well last season, it looks like Gleason will be the odd man out to start the season on D. Frattin's goal just didn't seem fair. A rocket shot in a perfect location. Malone was a man among boys. Trupp was a little quiet. Blood didn't take long to get his first crushing hit of the season. McMonster was his normal rock solid self. Cichy got alot of time including PP, I don't know if that was to earn a spot or a sign of more to come. Davidson will make some of the scholarship players work hard to get him out of the lineup. Hextall and Lammy remain an annoyance to other teams. Bruneteau, Rowney were not too noticeable. Eids was great Dell was OK.
  23. There goes the season...

  25. One of the finest professors of Engineering I have ever met. His loss is a terrible loss for all in the community. UND is better for having had him, even for far too short of a time. Very very sad...
