  1. Doubt it. Has BIG written all over it. Kraft to MN would make sense as well.

    2026 Recruiting

Were Buhr and Wunderlich the only two on campus this weekend that had offers previously? Would love to see a commit tweet from the coaches sometime today.
  3. I'd move on Spicer and Jack Smith if I was Jackson. Both played center in NCHC. They are going to be as good as it gets for Center via the portal it appears. Pencil those in as your 3rd / 4th line Centers. Bring in two of Schultz, Simpson, O'Neill. One more Portal forward (JR / SR) and one high-end CHL. Note: Of the three O'Neill, Simpson, Schultz, I would start with the one you think is most ready and give them the choice. Then the second and so on. MN / ND guys. There's optics here. If all want to go back, then no worries.
  4. CHL players would all be FR. @nascar99 I don't disagree. When I talked optics, I think it's incredibly important right now. IMO, you cannot recruit a CHL player when you have an equivalent in O'Neill / Schultz. Both were mid-term in the 50s / 60s for upcoming draft (North American). I would agree, the CHL recruit needs to be very high-end. You need to try to balance your classes. That's why you need a handful of Portal guys.
  5. What I'd like to see. Forwards (15): SR - Strinden, James, PORTAL, PORTAL JR - PORTAL SO - Swanson, Littler, Croal, Andrew FR - Zellers, Klee, Zakreski, O'Neill, Schultz, CHL
  6. Physically, O'Neill would be by far the most ready. Ideally, I agree they would all play a year of Juniors more, but would like to see at least one come in. I would also say, it's tougher to judge NTDP guys as well at times. The reason I would be adamant for at least one (maybe two) is optics. Hope they bring in both O'Neill and Schultz.
  7. No question UND needs the most help at Forward (especially Center). I'm looking at it from a standpoint of, if you add Ralph, would UND have a topflight D-core next year? One move. Add Homer. Solidifies Goaltending position. In two moves you would have a very high-end D / G. Working backwards. NFL draft philosophy of taking the best available player.
  8. Putting it as a preferred qualification for the candidate was idiotic.
  9. Laziness with recruiting / NIL, imo has put this program in this situation. Beyond frustrating how completely avoidable this was. Even the NIL piece, is it too late for this cycle? I'll reserve a lot of judgement until Jackson's press conference. He better hammer both those talking points.
  10. I hope UND’s #1 priority from the portal is Colin Ralph, followed by a goaltender. Work backwards.

  12. Schloss, thank you! I and others have been pretty critical of what I believe is following the company line to the point of detriment. This is an incredibly insightful piece of information that will help the program.
  13. Great point. I wouldn’t include Croal, but maybe switch out for Andrew with that three.
  14. @brianvf based on Schlossman's article this morning, it would appear there are three decisions that are still up in the air. Perron, Boisvert, McLaughlin. IMO, the Boisvert one seems to be a bit "media driven". Of course, every team wants him, but with Jackson in place, not sure how real of a threat there is. It'll be a nice momentum boost though when the article comes out of him staying.
  15. Two known publicly or two mentioned by Darnell yesterday?
  16. Morning after reaction. I’m excited. Some current / former players really are sticking their necks out that Dane is the right guy. I love that. Everything will be heightened next year. A lot of pressure. Imo, we’ll be able to tell next year if this was the right hire.
  17. Cannot only be amount the $. If current coaches actually fundraised, easily covered.
  18. Would be interested what they really thought of Berry, Goehring, Simpson as coaches. % chance Berry was the weak link? Which coaches idea was it to continue to put Kunz on the 1st line and PP? Warming up to Jackson if Berry was the one making all the awful decisions.

  20. If the reason Jackson is appointed HC has anything to do with that, then UND will stay a Tier 2 program. Edit: I may have mistaken your post. If you’re talking two candidates you feel are the same, then I would absolutely agree. Tie goes to the guy who has the higher % to keep current players.
  21. For Chaves. Why stay in house, after letting Jackson’s predecessor go. What differences do you expect to see from Jackson.
  22. Yes. Schmidt’s was a few days prior to his press conference. Slightly different since Jackson is already in town. Announcement on Sunday / Press conference Monday.
  23. @Siouxdaddy a list of some questions to ask Jackson on Monday? • Will there be a change in style of play / philosophy from what has been in the past. Ex: Dump and chase vs more free flowing (we can workshop this one) • In the NIL era, how closely have you been working w/ 1883 collective? Is that going to be an emphasis moving forward.
  24. Chaves / Jackson / Schlossman rehearsing for the press conference on Monday? Even with softball questions, fascinated to see some of the answers. It’s going to be @Siouxdaddy time to shine!
  25. Fair. We’ll be able to tell in a few years if it was the right call. I did edit to add. Hiring Jackson will also lead to most uncomfortable questions at the press conference on Monday.
