  1. Some would rather live in whatever make believe land Schlossman is going to write about. Now we're getting to a place where the pieces are starting to make sense. Theory, essentially, Jackson stabs Berry in the back. VERY interesting that Jacksons name was not mentioned at all in the letter he wrote. If Jackson noticed things were in bad shape last year under Berry, good on him to sound the alarm. Someone needed to. ***Just working on some theories***
  2. Fair. If you're hesitant, because there should really only be three people with true inner workings of this decision and how could they be so careless? You can be bold and careless if nobody will ask questions. Honestly, I'm 90% in the boat that this entire process has been a sham, which it would be if @RhettRingers is correct that it's been over for days. 5% that he's doubling down on an educated guess and the final 5% is it makes so little sense that it can't be true. It won't be Jackson. I also don't believe in coincidences. If Jackson ends up with it and by all indications, he's been #1 the entire time. Questions need to be asked.
  3. Until he gets one of these wrong. What a joke of a process, Chaves is so lucky the media won’t ask any questions. Turn the page, congrats to Dane! Onto the usual off-season topics.
  4. I'm going to have the popcorn ready for the press conference. Maybe that's what's taking so long, Chaves and Jackson are locked away with Schlossman, Ausmus and Schmaltz trying to figure out how they are going to explain this. Something is going to have to give. I don't think the fan base will be happy with, things were so great under Berry that we are going to keep the party going.
  5. What’s bothered me from the beginning is not that it would end up being Jackson, it’s that he’s been the wire to wire favorite. Given the state of the program and reminding all, his former boss was fired, you would think he’d have the most questions to answer out of anybody. Doesn’t pass the smell test. Could just the right people telling half truths. The only way it would make sense is if Berry himself was the sole reason and everyone knew it. Also, if Jackson had previous in-depth talks with Chaves prior to this.
  6. Go back and reread @mygarske post!
  7. Doesn't make sense to me that Jackson is a lock at this point, unless there were no other worthy candidates. Even so, who would be interviewed? Nobody? Only Jackson? The next three days just a giant waste of everyone's time? Logic says they still go elsewhere. Edit: Another reason I'm so skeptical is Jackson was really the wire-to-wire favorite? Rumors started as early as Monday that he was the guy. Who started it, Jackson? Every logical reason would say you don't know with the Assistant to the coach who was fired, but he had this locked up right away? Not buying it.
  8. We all hope it works out, but how embarrassing when Jackson gets the job. Qualifications include having support from current players, recent graduates & turned down an AHL job once. What an all-time resume!

  10. With Zmolek returning and Laurila coming in, something had to give. You weren't going to keep 10 D, with 9 expecting minutes. Wish him well, but looking at the numbers, not the worst thing.
  11. @siouxkid12 @siouxweet you're both absolutely correct that a big name is not going to officially apply for the job. Also, a big name isn't going to reach out at 4pm today and let Chavez know he's interested. Jax being the guy as early as Monday morning tells me anyone that Chavez reached out to couldn't have said no faster. His phone must have been lighting up with No's and laughing emojis from guys he hoped would be interested Monday morning.
  12. I hope this ends up being a unifying moment for the fanbase and that everyone gets behind Jackson. The more people that realize when this is announced that it wasn't a situation where a name appeared and stuck out over a list of high caliber candidates. By all accounts it's Jackson that is stepping up and taking a job nobody else wants. Us vs the world type of mentality. Let's go Jax, bring this program back to the top!
  13. Who would have thought the open FB Job would be 100X more coveted than the hockey opening. There’s so little interest I hope Jax doesn’t start second guessing this.
  14. Stay hot Chavez! Making the best of the situation. Can’t blame him that nobody wants the job. What do you think the $ amount would have to be for a guy like Barr or Raboin to even entertain taking this job? 2X the current highest college hockey salary? So like 4X what they are making now.
  15. Mods, can we lock this one up and delete it? It’s time for damage control and spin. I heard the reason nobody was interested in this job was because nobodies resume could match Jax. Didn’t want to waste their time. Was always #1 on my wishlist! Jackson > Barr > Raboin We got our guy!
  16. It’s Wednesday morning. Chavez is currently looking at the one resume he’s received on his desk. Going to spend this day instead of preparing for interviews, working on how to spin this disaster. I for one want to thank Jackson for applying. How embarrassing would it be if not a single coach wanted the job?
  17. Yep. How embarrassing.
  18. Does anyone know if Chaves is actually interviewing anyone else? Wild.
  19. If this is true, I would do a 180 so fast. If she’s donating large $ for NIL and wants Jax, let’s party.
  20. If it ends up being Jackson, the major frustration will be that this process seemed like a complete joke. Rumors started Monday that he was the frontrunner and haven’t stopped. If you read between the lines, Schlossman has been hinting for days it’s him. I would feel way better if after days and days of interviews and narrowing down the scope, Jackson was the guy. No issues. Either nobody applied or Chaves mailed it in. Crazy that apparently nobody could go head to head with Dane Jackson and his incredibly accomplished head coaching resume.
  21. Timeline. We know they opened it up nationally and that it closes tomorrow at 11:55 pm. Can interviews start before the job posting closes per University guidelines? Has anyone actually interviewed? Do you need three finalists? It’s not adding up to me how Jackson has this locked up. You’re telling me Chaves said thanks but no thanks to Blashill and his resume? I find it so hard to believe that this job wouldn’t be appealing to some very worthy candidates. Jackson and his resume is so far better than everyone else’s and he interviewed so well (at the minimum I hope he would have to explain how opposite he is of Berry) that he had this locked up as soon as Hak said no? Not buying it.
  22. Wait, did Chavez just do this exact same thing in Women’s basketball? Oh boy.
  23. I'll have to see it to believe it. Hiring the assistant coach from the coach you just fired is a bridge too far for me to really believe. Chavez has us rattled today, but he'll come through in the end. No way it'll end up being Jackson!
  24. Disagree. Who knows how it will work out and Jackson could end up being the right call, but if the two options were Jackson or anybody else. I'm guessing the fan base would prefer anybody else.
  25. From a timeline, no news is good news for those hoping it won't be Jackson. Prediction. Thursday: Jackson, Friday / Saturday: Someone else
