Hawks_Win_Again

I will continue to enjoy the position group write ups in coming days.... I have a few thoughts/comments/questions for the regulars here on the HawkNation site.... Comment 1. Let's ENJOY the invasion trolling from the goat ranchers south of us....You all do a GREAT job of loyally defending the UND tradition...The more they post over here, indicates we are a growing threat to their reign....( if we sucked, they wouldn't bother and although it HAS been more than impressive - ALL dynasties do end ). Question 1. Has UND ever had a schedule that included the Natty champ AND the runner up on the same scheduled year ? (Nationally only ourselves and UCD can say that for next fall.... Ammo for the playoff committee..... & Love it ). Question 2. With a coming schedule that is SO challenging.... should we be trying to add that 12th game (VS. say a D-2) to help qualify....or does a rest week help us more ? Comment 2. We have ALOT returning......a fresh new offensive scheme......and our southern rival loses MANY key people on both sides + a new coach ....we catch the "herd" EARLY in that transition which is KEY..... How much fun would it be to "shock" the FCS on 9/7 ? !!!!!!!!!!! I do know this from talking with several players recently.....our 2019 squad respects what SU has done, but are in no way intimidated and can't wait for the renewed "annual" opportunity. I hope we don't look past Drake and struggle with them week 1 because of our biggie on week 2 tho...... And finally .... Question/Comment 3. Will one of you kind, generous and wealthy Hawk faithful PLEASE pony up and help get the HPC project finished ? I would do it but I only have $60 in the bank after Christmas shopping. :) Merry Christmas from Colorado !!!

Both teams in DARK and in such similar uni's doesn't help defending them....Not sure why ISU isn't wearing white.... First time I've seen that in a while.....Cuz our front 7 will need every advantage locating - Dorian - Carlos - and "Turbo" .....they're 3 good backs......Also gotta keep Alexander's "escapes" from the pocket to a minimum..... He's a problem outside the hashes..... I don't think they'll be able to stop our offense, so this game may be up to Coach Schmidt's D, and I think they WILL -----> git 'er done.........Hold em to 28 and we win !!! GO Seniors !!! GO Hawks !!!

You do recall correctly....by game over I was actually inferring to it more of a sure thing, than a situational game ender. As mentioned often on this board..it's the little things that might seem unnoticed with our team. .....personnel usage.... fixable details..... that can add up in a close game. We were good enough to win all 3 of our close losses, and "details" make a difference... (along with a break or 2 from the "zebras"). ....or not....... Let's win these last two. Go HAWKS !!

Will be a bit of a homecoming for several Colorado Hawks.... expect a LARGE caravan of family fans from Denver area.... Griebel/Shannon families bringing "A BUNCH" of people.... GO HAWKS !!!!!!

Visitors section has traditionally been on the smaller campus side bleachers and on tbe southern most end toward the scoreboard. (Approx. 20 yd line).

Pretty sure this has been out there, but we will be facing their back-up QB this week, as Knipp injured his collarbone last week (done for year--- 3rd year in a row... terrible luck feel bad for him). Sic'em Schmidt !!!!!! It's bounce back week...Let's get on a roll !! Go Hawks !

Very true...still exciting to anticipate a big game with them and like most on this, forum, I believe we will show up strong, rep the UND-Nation & get a key win ! GO HAWKS !!!!

WAS going to wait until MV St. game was in the books, but it is an entertaining thread today, so I will share this early....SHSU is very concerned about the matchup for their lack of depth/experience at key spots and the fact that those starters may realistically only have a half a game under their belt coming into OUR game. They hope Washington will have kept us in some ice-packs til about Wed./Thurs. the week of our game. On their upside they are confident of the probable speed/quickness advantage, but concerned on the physicality side. An in all...they ABSOLUTELY expect a close one and hope it is at a track meet pace with high score and are GLAD it is at home. .......Doubt I will get much more intel/ details til post game (which will also be interesting to get their honest take on UND)....Nothing earth shaking, just some pre-season thoughts/info.

Our favorite Hawk flew back to Grand Forks last night.... Upperclassmen begin actvities (lifting/skill work) this week ...Incoming frosh still have 4 weeks or so. Wished him a healthy, fun, bounce back season..... GO Hawks!!!

Slow night......no practice report...heard it was full pads today.....hopefully Tom Miller will give an update after these first 4 practices heading into spring break. Did hear NO injuries so far !!!

Montana State does their LARGE fundraising banquet after a big scrimmage abroad in Great Falls.... then concludes at home in Bozeman with the Sonny Holland Game to conclude spring ball....It has been excellent state wide exposure, and amazing booster income from the G. Falls banquet....new AD might be all ears for the like here in GF and wherever for the other site.

Thru winter workouts, Griebel has been working punt ret. (with Santiago..).... and Mikey has been working on holder duties as well. Agree with above posts that "up"-ing the screen game with personnel we have is wise..... and agree with Lontime fan on 1st 3 games ....but I think we win 7 of the last 8 and make the bracket... GO HAWKS !!!!!!

Our older son played at Montana State ...we have been to the Inferno on game day... Very energized atmosphere ... Their tailgate grade was just ok... B- .... At kickoff though, the place rocks.. grades an A for sure... (although the stadium itself is not very impressive).... The EWU game day organizers (press box/announcer etc.) were the best in the Big Sky at energizing their crowd (music/interactive) ... That grade was an A+ .... Hope the new AD plans to bring some of that to the Alerus ... We are not far behind at all. . Add that to a bounce back season on the field, and 2018 can't get here fast enough... GO HAWKS !!

Along those lines....Hope our new AD will want one of HIS first action items to be phase 2 of HPC completed ASAP.... GO HAWKS.

Any intell on either of the 2 open dates in 2019 ? We getting a 12th game ? GO HAWKS !!!!

TEDDY MULLIN ....This is a GREAT get.... Actually 6'2" ....Rangey playmaker...... Will be a terrific OLB for Coach Schmidt..... That QB on his hudl video looks VERY familiar..... . That would be (WR) Griebel !!! GO HAWKS !!!!

The Hawks will show up to pull the Thursday "upset" ... But this game will be won/lost from the press box... Out scheme 'em (with no tendencies to refer to...) as they will believe base looks are good enough to beat us. Make them wrong....get them frustrated on both sides of the ball. Week one special teams are typically not polished either....we need to check that box in our favor to ice it. Can't wait....... GO HAWKS !!!! BRING IT !!!!
