  1. So we have a sell out. What will the announced attendance be? Need a full 3 sections of students.
  2. Last year the mods gave this troll a free break.
  3. Some biZon fans are posting and laughing on Social Media that this is a home game for them. Get up Sat and drive to the Hawks' Nest. While this Saturdays game is labeled as an away game on the schedule, they are traveling just 80 miles north and plan like they’re going to play at home by leaving the morning of. They will find out in GF that these fans will be unlike any others the players ever saw before.
  4. Grand Forks is getting ready for an influx of thousands of visitors this weekend. UND's hockey opener, the North Dakota football battle between NDSU and UND and an Eric Church concert — all making the Northern Valley the place to be. https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/7214886-Grand-Forks-prepares-for-thousands-of-visitors-during-the-upcoming-packed-weekend
  5. UND-North Dakota State football game is sold out and tickets on secondary markets are growing expensive https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/football/7212668-UND-North-Dakota-State-football-game-is-sold-out-and-tickets-on-secondary-markets-are-growing-expensive UND has won 12 straight in the Alerus. The last time UND lost at home was a 35-30 setback to Weber State on Oct. 27, 2018. Weber State was ranked No. 4 in the country at the time of the matchup. The Alerus Center is officially a 12,283-seat venue, although actual attendance can tick beyond that figure. The last two games with at least 12,000 fans were matchups early in the 2017 season, a year which followed the Fighting Hawks run to a Big Sky Conference championship. UND saw 12,057 fans against Missouri State on Sept. 9, then drew 12,342 on Sept. 23 against Montana State. The only time in the Alerus history UND has announced more than 13,000 fans was the first season of the building in UND's national championship Division II season in 2001. UND drew 13,500 against North Dakota State in 2001.
  6. Good question, maybe they are finding a way to sell more tickets? 1st challenge is standing room only tickets normally only works is you have a team that wins the big games each season to build up the fan base and have sell out crowds. 2nd challenge is if the highly desired standing areas are not designated by a specific ticket and then gobbled up by season tickets holders, what happens to that season ticket holders original seat? Remains open. Not a good plan when sellouts become the norm.
  7. Full House is what it will be. All tickets have been sold at least once, except for a few handicap tickets. So if you need a ticket and have a limp, get to the doc -skip the vac. (unles go n 2 Nashvil) and get a handicap sticker. Someone mentioned on here on one of the threads that the Alerus was at first supposedly been able to hold 14,000 for football. I don't remember hearing that? I do remember going to the SU game in 2001 and the crowd was reported at 13,500 and still is in the box scores. There were people standing all over the place. I remember after the game a few of us discussed the game attendance at way way over 13,000 without the suites. What's published on Wikipedia, UND website, and Alerus website all have 12,283 seats. I tallied up each section: Section Seats 201 508 202 749 203 750 204 748 205 728 206 749 207 750 208 749 209 508 210 491 211 727 212 726 213 726 214 705 215 725 216 727 217 726 218 491 Total 12283 That's what I come up with also, well - kind of. There are also 18 VIP suites. So that increases seating some. Plus the catwalk, which is apparently now expanding the ticket pool. Peterson Porch is a new seating area located on the second-floor bridge running along the south wall of the arena. There are 4,075 parking spaces available.
  8. GF Herald, Bubba says Weah plays in a week.
  9. I crossed out 5 of you words. It's been 18 years.
  10. Outside of our small Div I press box, we will have the best seats for the rest of the press in the country. Not even close. After we win in a week, the press from outside of GF will be stopping in more frequently. They will write kindly of us.
  11. I've 20 tickets for the HOF game at the end of next month and so far we're all going. If this game somehow fizzles out or even the attendance turns out to be fractional of the sell out it became, it will hurt our fan base.
  12. It was 50 years ago, Oct 16th a cold rainy day, and my first game at Dacotah Field. Bison were ranked #1 in the Nation, hosting us for their Homecoming game. Sioux dominate in a 23-7 win.
  13. I mentioned some of this yesterday in another thread, but much more appropriate here. It's been 18 years since NDSU has been at the Alerus. Bison have never beat the SIOUX in the Alerus, slipping in 2001 & 2003. In fact NDSU hasn't won in GF since 1997, which was at Memorial Stadium. For the Hawks fans attending that have never been to this Rivalry game, you will be in for a treat.
  14. Has anyone tried putting 2020 in rice?
  15. There's nothing longer than Microwave minutes.
  16. Look Back at the 2003 North Dakota vs. North Dakota State Football Matchup in the Alerus.
  17. This thread asks "What's Needed At The Alerus?" Little history first: Alerus opened in Feb 2001. Record crowd last weekend 22,000. Record FB game crowd Oct 6, 2001 of 13,500. What Alerus needs is welcoming back our little brother to the south. It's been 18 years since NDSU has been here. Bison have never beat the SIOUX in the Alerus, slipping in 2001 & 2003. In fact NDSU hasn't won in GF since 1997, which was at Memorial Stadium. The Hawks can make my day on Oct 2 with the W.
  18. That would be a thread drift. This is a "former players" thread and those that were successful did it through hard work. I tip my hat to them.
