This is a FB attendance tread, so I think it helps. Being homecoming, distant alumni show up more so than other FB games. The hockey game can help draw more alumni to GF, therefore even to attend the FB game. If a local fan was to choose between one of the games, this FB game is a Biggy.

We did have our inconsistencies (I'll use Duluth again, below). Yet with all these SOG, puck possession, were we mentally ready for each game? Something missing? Killer instinct? or ?? I am a Sioux fan and now also a Hawk fan. I have close friends that played with Berry and Sandelin for this U. My loyalty is to this U. Making positive comments about Sandelin UND '86 isn't about hurting anybodies feelings on here. A group of us (all cheered for UND) went to Duluth last season and watched a 5-0 shellacking. Made a post on this board prior to Saturdays game something to the effect that the consensus was that we beat Duluth in this next game, mostly because of the way we got thrashed (embarrassing) and our intensity will be up a notch all game long. CONSISTENCY. We need to thrash Winnipeg and Canisius to open this season. The mind set moving forward from there will pay dividends.

We don't have to run intentionally into a goalie or flop on the ice pretending to be hurt. We need to play with some serious intensity.

Not a problem. How many stupid penalties did we have the last few years, did we get our monies worth with them? No. Duluth did? Have you watched the Sioux play 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years ago? No holding back, those men played like with a chip on their shoulder! Have you watched Duluth play at all the last couple of years? Good to see the season approaching! By UND, there were over 100 shots taken toward the goal (only 55 considered SOG) and a 2-2 tie after regulation. Little did we know that was going to be part our game for the rest of the season. We need to spank the Bisons and also the Griffins the weekend after to start the season on the right track.

This is now a pressure win game. To get us back on the wining track, and not into a slide. To have a better chance to finish good - playoff potential. To keep building the fan base and attendance. Recruiting!!!

Sounds like a share of tickets purchased were not brought to the game. That 20 mph wind with a few snowflakes had to have a impact. I still wonder if we were mentally ready to start this game with the way the cold and wind was?

GF had 5" to 7" of rain, varying through out the city over the past weekend. The city is going down the streets/alleys with pay loaders and trucks and picking up water damaged property that home owners are throwing out. My nephew (high jumper) has teammates that had water in their cars. HPC had some water damage due to sump pump failure, the tracksters were called in to help move stuff.

Harbaugh could retire and watch dolphins swim somewhere. Mich much overpaid for a head coach.
