This is awesome! Youth baseball could really use some help around here. My son is in Cal Ripken bb. They set foot on a real baseball field for the first time this season just yesterday. Because of the weather, they'd been practicing in Gambucci all spring. GF baseball is way behind other cities because we don't have any indoor baseball facilities. Big shout out to Coach Dunphy for getting the ball rolling on these upgrades!

Doesn't the Ralph use Engelstad money to do an upgrade almost every summer? The score board. A few years ago was new boards. A major locker room remodel some time ago. I'm sure there are many projects I am forgetting or never even knew about. I don't understand why so many around here insist on feeling embarrassed by decisions made by other people.

Like every other person here, I have no knowledge about how this went down. If someone told me that the "true inside story" is that the Spicer's tried to throw their weight around to get their boy in before Berry thought he was ready, and then he decommitted just to prove a point, I would have zero trouble believing that story. But some around here automatically jump to the opposite conclusion that Berry is arrogant and doesn't care about his local recruits, when there is no history to suggest that is true.

This time of year is when you can come up with fun statistics; 1. Buxton is on pace to hit 121 HR's and drive in 162 RBI, which is good news because... 2. The Twins are undefeated when Buxton hits two or more HR's in a game, and they only win 33% of their games when Buxton hits fewer than 2 HR.

Sucks that Denver jumps back in front of us in the Title count. The good side, the ESPN crew had to suffer a Final Four with zero east coast teams and the Michigan Dandys couldn't even pull it out for them. I hope Melrose will retire and live a long and peaceful retirement. Enjoy your last years with your family. Keep your hot takes out of our college hockey. Looking forward to next season. If anyone will be looking for the championship broadcast on an old-time radio that still requires radio waves, the Westwood One broadcast with Starman was on AM 740 yesterday. I didn't listen long enough to hear if they are carrying the championship game, though.

I hate to ruin the fun, and I hope I'm wrong about this, but the rumor mill in my corner of the world says it's going to be converted to a bank. Seems like an odd choice. It would be akin to opening another Mexican/Tex-Mex joint at this point. The market seems very saturated to me. I would love to see some sort of authentic German place open in town!

My wife is the GM of a franchise store in town that has not re-opened the lobby. It is purely a labor shortage decision in her (technically her owners decision, not hers) case, and the corporate directive is to leave lobbies closed until you are absolutely sure you are staffed sufficiently to maintain a clean and orderly lobby. No, she is not losing business. in fact, sales are thru the roof because of Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc. Customer preferences have changed. If they weren't overly busy trying to keep up with delivery services they would have more manpower available to staff the lobby. Yes, she has raised wages. A high school kid with zero experience can now earn $15/hour, and it goes up from there with experience. Believe me, these people are just as frustrated as everyone else with the current state of things. They are working harder than ever to keep understaffed stores running after two years of dealing with customers complaining about covid stuff that they had no control over (Corporate policy; follow, or lose your job. period). Please have some understanding, and be kind. Thank you.

Does it matter? Yes, I had an account back then and only posted a couple of times. It was before online viewing and before (or maybe early days of?) listening on Iheart Radio. I was a regular lurker. I tried to recover that account one particular evening (nothing special going on that night, right?) and was unable to, so I started a new one. Then I lurked for a few more years...
