  1. Looks like you and I were basically in agreement 22 hours ago, yet you and others keep quoting and arguing with me. You can't call it a conspiracy to purposely piss off fans for having fun and then hours later say what you just said in this quote... unless I've helped you change your mind. Because that was my argument. You're welcome. BTW, just yesterday Dr. "I am the Science" said that Covid isn't over. There are still people out there that are hanging on to it. Maybe the staff at the Al just wanted to be prepared for the worst. They certainly don't deserve what has been called for here.
  2. *shrugs* They said that was the idea. No one said the out of town media actually went along with it.
  3. Beer Grandma has to be the dumbest controversy to ever come up in these pages. Why is it so important to you to see an old lady take a drink of beer? Why is it a surprise to you that in a time when a ton of attention is paid to binge drinking and underage drinking that a bunch of teetotalers would piss and moan about Beer Grandma and the Ralph would get tired of hearing about it and just stop doing it? I don't recall; did anyone ever ask Beer Grandma? Maybe she got tired of it and asked them to stop?
  4. I think they said that's leftover from the Covid era. The idea was to keep the two media groups separated? Now Tom Miller points out there is plenty of room in the box and people here add it to the conspiracy. The original idea wasn't about needing space in the press box, it was about keeping the visitors away from the townies.
  5. What, specifically, were you told when you contacted the appropriate employees at Alerus or UND?
  6. And I already acknowledged that I could have chosen my words better more than two hours ago, but you go ahead and keep pilling on with these rapier-like witty replies.
  7. Wow, what a witty reply. You people let gfhockey lead you around in circles getting pissed off about this stuff... Yes, yes, Biz. The Alerus was pissed off that people were having fun at football games, so they decided to put an end to it. Holy !@#$.
  8. So, without the snark; Yes, there are multiple rows of chairs. Thank you, I missed that detail. Seems like a bar rail with a set number of ticketed seats would be the ideal solution. Maybe next year. I suppose people could politely make suggestions to decision makers at UND and the Alerus.
  9. Yep, you got me. I could have chosen words more carefully. I guess my whole line of reasoning is gone now.
  10. If I enjoyed standing there, instead of buying a regular ticket and hoping my favorite spot was open I would prefer to buy a ticket for that specific spot. Are these spots set up so that the ticket holder can't stand?
  11. UND tried to scrounge up some extra ticket revenue by investing in new seating in an area some people like to stand in for free. Yeah, its disappointing for people who enjoyed standing there, but can you understand that for the good of the program they are trying to monetize something that some people consider to be a superior game experience, and it is in short supply. You wouldn't be standing there if you didn't agree. Maybe they didn't come up with the best plan this time, but at least they recognize what they have and they are trying something new. As I understand it, it's been a thing for one season plus one game, right? And this season it has been improved over last season? Can any of you that are upset about this see that changing this after one home game of the season isn't a great plan? Maybe after a few games the word will get out, and people will start buying the tickets. Maybe it won't catch on, and things will go back to normal.
  12. Great idea! Too bad Heavy Metal Hockey is already out there in the public domain. That would be a huge hit at the Ralph. LOL! But seriously, any lawyers around? Seems like this could actually work since the Ralph is a separate entity from UND.
  13. I'm glad you briefly sobered up enough to type that last sentence out. That could have really gone off the rails with a few typos.
  14. Blinders on... no football money until hockey is paid for... Some of you love to hate your favorite University so much that you won't believe what you read. YOU, yes you, can start one of these things and fund the third string place holder if that's what you want to do. The university CAN NOT be involved.
  15. That could be an electrifying half of football.
  16. First thing I think of is the game late in the season when UND had to kill off a late PP against St. Cloud (it was 5x3 for a full two, IIRC). UND was trying to clinch the season title and maintain #1 PWR. The roof had to be jumping for what felt like five minutes of hockey. It was loud, and every time a UND player blocked another shot the fans found another notch on the volume knob (it went past 11 that night). Didn't Mark Mac take a shot to the lower leg during that kill that ended his season? I seem to recall everyone holding their breath watching him limp around, concerned for Mark of course, but also wishing he could just get the hell off so someone else could jump on.
  17. Walter Cronkite was just as biased as any of them are today. The only difference is there weren't so many other sources around to highlight his distortions. His most well know distortions were regarding the Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War.
  18. The woman you quoted said false accusations of rape are not a problem. I am suggesting that false accusations of rape, or any crime for that matter, are indeed a problem. To be clear, my argument wasn't with anything you said, it was with the quote you posted. I see now that the "quote" function only carried your comments over to post, and not the quote you had in your post, which was my intended target. No arguments with you.
  19. False accusations of rape are "Not a problem"? Ms. Archambault compares false accusation rates of rape to false accusation rates of car theft to prove some sort of point. Here's a huge difference; Around college age, almost everyone is out there trying to get laid. Just doing-what-horny-young-adults-do can open you up to being on the wrong side of that 2-8%. I can't think of any circumstance in my life when someone could have falsely (or justifiably, lol) accused me of stealing a car. Did any of you ever "get some" from someone you just met after a night of drinking at a college party? That's why there is fear of false reports of rape. In addition to that, on the internet all it takes is an allegation and you are branded for life.
  20. Uhm. What? I was replying to a comment about how people are treated in these situations, even if the accusations are false. It was a long time ago, maybe my memory has failed me. Did I say something untrue?
  21. A case of false accusations leading to the accused being wrongfully expelled happened right here at UND about 12 years ago. His expulsion was eventually overturned and an arrest warrant was issued for the liar. I don't remember if she was ever brought to court. *edit* I purposely left his name out. Let's not use it here. He doesn't need yet another internet search result linking his name and the false accusations against him.
  22. Oh, you're right about that! Okay, Minndakota it is. Besides, this way when UND dominates it over and over again, we will have North Dakota, South Dakota, and MinnDakota. The three Dakota's!
  23. What, are you completely nuts?! What a horrible idea for the name of the tournament. Obviously it should be the Dakminn tournament! Otherwise, I like it! Very intriguing idea!
  24. At least they can actually survive long enough to be in a winner-take-all game. /Minnesota pro-sports fan
  25. A white flag!?! So, no confederates, just plain old white supremacy. LOL. The world has become a clown show.
