Yep. How do they rule that the faceoff stays in the zone because Albrecht didn't skate into the net on purpose, but also decide that the diving stick swinging player didn't trip him? Can't have it both ways unless you are officiating by the scoreboard.

I don't know. I read all over these boards about how we keep missing the best recruits, and Sandy is a better coach than Berry. I know we're in second place in the best conference in college hockey. Earlier in the season we swept the team that's in first place. And this is after losing 14 guys from the team last year. Sure, we had a drop off in goaltending, but he seems to be improving quite a bit lately. I can't imagine why. We've had a lot of injuries and lately and our best d-man has been out for juniors and the Olympics. Sure, some of the younger guys have been stepping up, but that's probably just a fluke. Frisch is on a tear. Moore made a beauty of a move to snipe a goal last night. Gaber has become quite a player. We were one of the two or three favorites to win the national title only two seasons ago before covidism shut it all down. Covid had an impact on a really good run last season, too. There are a lot of other positive things happening with the team that could be discussed. No. We are all assured on a daily basis that Berry can't recruit. Berry can't coach. His system is the problem, you see. Elite players can't score here. Average talent can't develop here. It should be easy to get any player we want because we are UND. We have the best facilities and the best culture and the best fans. The only reason a teenage boy could possibly decide to play hockey somewhere else is because Berry doesn't know how to recruit. Everyone knows that teenage boys have the same priorities as middle-aged men. Teenagers are also known for making really good decisions. Yet some of them choose not to play hockey in the world class city of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Berry must be the problem. Now we have a thread suggesting Karl should be the head coach. Why? Because he's younger than Berry, and some young coaches have been hired in the NFL recently. Nothing is more important than following trends! Especially trends from the NFL! Fire Berry! Hire Karl!

Yeah! Looks to me like the team is starting to gel. We're starting to see the no-look passes and drop passes are working. Long passes are hitting sticks instead of skates most of the time. To my untrained eye, it looks like they've finally had enough time together to start working as a unit instead of five individuals.

Good point. UND has had a lot more success than Michigan and Minnesota have in the last 20-ish years. Just think how much better things would be if UND could recruit as well as them!

Great question! Back in the Fire Hakstol!1! days, around here the word was that you couldn't give Hak any credit for the talent that was brought in because in college the assistant coaches do all the hard work involved in recruiting. You see, it was Brad Berry that was the genius recruiter that brought in those high end players back then! All depends on who you want to fire today, I suppose. Unless there are still some former players hanging around, I would guess that almost (I'm tempted to leave out the 'almost') no one here has any clue what goes on behind the scenes.

I've been lurking on these boards for a long long time. I'm old enough to remember when you could almost follow a game by the updates posted here. An exciting game had dozens of pages of comments. There was NOTHING wrong with that play, but some of you jumped in here to bitch about Klevin when the refs went in to review. Why was that any kind of penalty, much less review for five? No, here in the UND "fan" forum we immediately start bitching about Klevin and his stupid penalties. In closing, I would like to point out how stunning it is to me how many people on these boards think would of/could of/should of is proper english. It is would have/could have/should have. When you are talking, you say "would've", not "would of". That is a contraction of "would have". Jeez. It's so common on this site... I had to get it off my chest.
