I guess this is part of the reason I don't understand why you would want to attend UND. You obviously feel the name use is racist as well as most if not all of the University. So why choose to attend a University that you feel is racist toward your ethnicity and culture? Just to let you know I have been egged and spit upon and I am confident it had nothing to do with my race. So what make you so certain these things happening to you was just because of your ethnicity? I am not saying these things don't happen because of some stupid people, but many things like this happen without race being part of the equation. I think this thread has been very interesting and informative but I can't agree with you until I personally see a few things change. This is not likely to happen anytime soon because I now live so far away from UND and North Dakota.

Maybe it's the Sioux fan in me, but I think the situations are a little (extremely) different. Unless of course Hirsch has an actual mental disorder or problem.

Just call up a sports bar, I am sure they will have the game. It's on Fox Sports North so you could watch it anyplace that has the sports pack for direct tv or dish network.

I might agree with you if had been an extended period of time and in that time he made better decisions about what he should do and not do. This isn't very far in his past and shows a pattern that he cares little for other people. His attitude seems to be I want it so I am going to take it or do whatever I want no matter what happens to other people.

Your actions have consequences, and I don't know that he feels bad about it. Has he made an apology? and if so was it sincere? If it was me, and I was truely sorry I would do something to show it.

Everyone to ever play hockey has it drilled into them that checking from behind is very dangerous and is known to cause serious injuries including paralysis. So the guy has no excuse for what he did and proving intent might be difficult, but anything short of him being retarded he knew what was likely to happen from a hit like that. I can stand people defending someone like this, try look at it from the perspective if someone did that to you or your child.

That is crazy talk, it's just more info proving the guy is a thug and probably should be locked up or at least booted out of college hockey. Can he be charged for the hit on Bina, similar to the situation in the NHL with the punch to the back of the head? Also would Robbie have legal recourse against him for intentionally injuring him and effectively ended his career?

I think he could help get people in the seats and increase interest in Northern State Football, but I will be surprised if he gets the job.

I recall an incident that happened at the end of a game in Grand Forks involving Martay Jenkins.

Saying Moss is the best WR is the NFL is a joke, he may be the most talented but he isn't even close to the best. If I was a GM I can think of at least 10 WR's I would rather have because they are better all around players (all area's a WR needs to be good at, not just running down field) and far better teammates as well. He could be the best, but I doubt his attitude and ego will ever allow that to happen.

If Minot can get by the first game they have a good shot to win the tourney, but that is a huge if because they always seem to struggle in the first round. The safe bet to win is South, but you never know what will happen.

It doesn't matter if Minot is the best team in the state or not, they always find a way to screw up at the State Tourny. The West will probably never be as consistant as the east is as far as quality teams, but they do have some good teams from time to time. IMO if Minot had better coaching, they would be one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the state on a consistant basis.

Link to Canisius story I think it might be just a little over the top to fire a couple AD's for the actions of a couple college students. I would think the responsibility should fall directly on the players (as they are supposed to be adults). If anybody other than the players are going to be held accountable, it probably should be on the coach or coaches, unless the AD was along as a babysitter.

To me the bad part is that he has been spouting this crap to college students, and will likely continue to do so. To a lesser degree almost all Universities have faculty like this (just not as crazy), I even remember a few at UND.

I think if the state is going to allow a Casino in ND off reservation it should be a state run casino. The profits could be used to help influence more technology and better types of business to the state. If it is going to be done (I am not really certain if it would be good or bad) the state and all people in the state should see a some type of benefit.
