    Internet Audio

I am sure it never got fixed, or at least not fixed correctly
  2. I think the only major affect athletics can have on schools like UND and NDSU is getting the name of the institutions out to other areas of the country. It gives the schools more name recognition so if someone from say Texas decides to go to school at UND, their is a better chance for people around them to have a general idea of what the University is like. Basically you wouldn't have as many people going, What! NORTH DAKOTA isn't that in Canada? If the University is known through athletics, at least they are getting some publicity. As sad as it is, if you live in another area of the country you most likely will not have a clue about the acedemics of those schools and without athletics and a few other programs these people wouldn't even consider checking it out.
  3. It was news to me until someone mentioned it is a post right before gametime.
  4. Just a guess, but if Bowenkamp was hurt last week they may have still started him due to the competition of Delta State. I am sure the coaching staff realized immediatly once watching Mesa's game tape that they were not very good and this would be a great opportunity to get JB some rest and Belmore some valuble game experiece with little to no risk. I was surprised that Dressler played. I am not completely sure about the redshirt rule, but if he plays next week and maybe gets hurt or the injury is aggrevated he could still get a medical hardship depending upon how much he has actually played during the games. I also think that UND never intended on redshirting him but didn't want to throw him to the wolves in the first game against fairly good competition. It is probably a good idea to ease any player into a major role on the team, especially if they are a true freshman.
  5. Is Bowenkamp really hurt? or did the UND coaches decide that Mesa stinks and this would be a good time to get the backup QB some game experience? Just asking because the Mesa radio announcers have said Bowenkamp has been in holding and I wouldn't think he would be holding if he was hurt.
  6. Whats the score? UNO's secondary is getting shred by IUP and they are losing 28-14
  7. I wonder why, it doesn't make sense to pull a redshirt on a guy if he isn't going to get some serious PT
  8. UNO is down 21-14, just got ripped through the air. 3 or 4 play scoring drive for IUP, 2 passes over 30 yards
  9. Wow, this is UGLY!! Even to read about it.
  10. Thanks for the updates IUP and UNO are tied 14 all, but looking at the stats UNO should be ahead.
  11. Has Mesa even got a first down yet?
  12. It doesn't sound like Mesa State's defense is very good
  13. I am reading because the audio I have is delayed and keeps cutting out and changing volume
  14. According to the Mesa broadcast, the game hasn't started yet. They just finished the national anthem
  15. The Mesa broadcast is on about a 10 minute delay, just great!
  16. http://www.gomavs.org./ The broadcast has been cutting in and out, and are just going through a bunch of old interviews right now
  17. The fighting sioux link isn't working yet and it's pissing me off. I email the athetic department this morning and they said it should be fixed, well I guess not. I am starting to think the old links are BS and they are trying to force people to pay for the broadcast.

    UND moving up?

Good post and I completely agree about supporting the other schools, I have had friends play at both schools and think we really should hope the other teams do well against any other competition. I do have a slight disagreement about ND talent and D1AA, IMO the only difference between a high level D2 team and D1AA team is depth. NDSU has done a lot of recruiting in ND and outside the normal recruiting area in order to build and better team and get more depth on the roster, but I would argue that UND is at least an equal if not better football team currently and has not had to do that type of recruiting.

    UND moving up?

I think you all are missing something, it's more than just the schools. It's the whole enivronment! Where I live and teach in the south acedemic standards and scores are at least as good if not better than most or all of ND. The reason is that the area has a very diverse population of people that mainly put a lot of value in education. These are people from Canada, India, China, the Midwest, and the East coast of the United states. In the district I work in seveal other schools get equal amount or more funding in some cases than the school I work at and yet the acedemics at the schools are terrible. The problem is really about individuals and individual families placing a high value on education and it seems many in the south do not. Take a rural school in ND that produces good students and sends many of them on to college. Now place that same school and teachers in Mississippi, do you think it would produce the same caliber of students. I doubt it, their would be a few but the school would be considered under funded and thats why the students don't learn. Do you think students at the University of North Dakota can't get as good an educations as someone that attends LSU?

    bison class

Who care's what some of the Bison fans do? I really don't care what a few fans do, and wish the NDSU luck in the new division. When we start playing them again, then I will worry about the Bison.
  21. Coach Lennon is a great coach and has the best philosophy as far as winning is concerned. I just wish they would not pull back the reins on the offense so much. UND has great players, they need to be allowed to go make some plays. Last year they would start slow and be forced to cut the offense loose, but only if they were losing. I understand that with this style of play you shouldn't turn the ball over as much, but that wasn't the case yesterday as they turned the ball over 4 or 5 times. I also think the team needs to develop a killer instict... put teams away when they have the chance! It almost seems as if the offense players are happy with a small lead and just push the game on the defense, and I don't like that. IMO UND could have one of the better offenses in D2 to match their defense. It's not part of the style of play for UND and that is fine, but please let the offensive players go out and make the plays they are capable of. Defense wins championships, but the team should not rely soley upon that because you have to score to win. When games are as close yesterdays was (and really shouldn't have been) 1 or 2 bad breaks and UND loses, and I just don't like cutting it that close. on the flip side, playing is close games will benafit the Sioux when it comes playoff time or at least when the UNO game takes place.
  22. I think the ball could still be picked up by a UND player and returned, but if it is not (and the whistle is blown) the play is dead and ball should be spotted where the Delta State player first touched the ball, unless it bounces in UND's favor. Basically Delta is not allowed to touch the ball and have it bounce, be kicked or pushed in a way that would give UND worse field position after initially touching it. I think the bottom line is that if the whistle had not blown, the play is still live. But if the whistle had already been blown the play dead before the penalty occured, UND shouldn't have been penalized.
