Getting rid of ALL mascots associated with the Native American heritage, to me, just pushes the whole culture one step further off the map. I guess if people want to forget about the Native American culture all together, they are going in the right direction. I'll admit, I think the "Redskins" need to drop that name, like, twenty years ago. That one even offends me, and I have no Native American blood in me. "Indians" gets to me, as well, since the Native Americans weren't actually from India (dumb explorers). I'm sad that the native people of this land are taking one more giant step in the direction of being forgotten . . . but hey, we can name teams after thieves, murderers and rapists and it's all good (Vikings, Raiders, Buccaneers . . .) Do you suppose the New England Patriots are welcome to play in England?? You know, they fought and killed a bunch of their ancestors and gave a big middle finger to their whole country.

It's the part of college sports that i despise . . . polls, voting, etc. Why keep score in a game then?? Let's just have them play and then vote on who with think did better at the end

I'm hoping the Bye week is like a "reset" button. Between the bye week and this last win, maybe the UND team from week one will re emerge!

Yep . . . I agree with geaux_sioux 100%. UND would have been better off to lose the first game or two of the season. 4-4 would feel pretty damn nice if that had happened and everyone would call it progress (even though it's the same 4-4). I'm bringing the whole fam damily to North Dakota (from Iowa) this weekend for the game no matter what the record is!

As someone who does marketing and advertising for a living . . . I feel kind of bad for those of you who are voting. There just really isn't anything there that's exciting and dynamic. (my opinion . . . but I don't get a vote) I always look for the "hell yeah!" That one idea that is just so good that nothing else even comes close. Doesn't sound like anyone here has any of these names down as their "hell yeah".

Maybe go to the Alerus, and not go to this forum. Don't punish those kids (and yourself) because of some cyber-coaches. i certainly don't take anything posted on a forum as anything more than light reading. As a longtime MN Vikings fan, I stay a fan whether they are 3-13 or 13-3. I'd be discouraged if they were losing games by twenty or thirty points every weekend.

What is this . . . my second post I think? Let's all just agree that nothing on this board will be (or should be) taken into consideration by anyone of importance. Good god, and if it were, what kind of coaching staff would that make for!!?? Anyway, I think UND shows up for games better on the road for some reason. Maybe they concentrate and focus just a bit more before the games without all of the "family in town, girlfriend, party the night before" distractions. I have a feeling UND will put up the good fight this weekend at Weber State.

Maybe more correct to say it was on everyone. I watched UND linebackers dropping back into coverage WAY more than in any other game, which I assume was in response to whatever the saw on the practice field this last week. They were not playing their typical UND style defense, and it didn't do the job. There is more to the game than just what we see on saturday, and I, for one, have to trust that the coaches felt that running their typical scheme would have rendered even worse results. But I'll be honest . . . they sure are fun to watch this year! It's like Christmas every weekend . . . you just have no idea what you're going to get

Watchin Weber vs Griz . . . no buffering, and the feed is fine. Wish that was the case for the UND game.
