SD won despite having 132 yards of penalties to 55 for und. They also lost the TO battle …one to zero. Home game for und. SD played an ok game. If these two teams played 10 times …SD wins 9 all day long. More than likely 10 but giving und benefit of doubt for one game ? Und is not in the same ballpark with the other Dakota schools. Und has to have every thing go just exactly right to be competitive. Today …Und had nearly all the intangibles in their favor and still failed. Told my wife today …..I need to think of something positive with und football. It’s been too many years of Americas funniest football in grand forks. It then occurred to me … if you’re a young individual that aspires to become a head coach at one point in your life ….please watch bubba and do the exact opposite. That’s as positive as can get.

Listened to the pregame talk show on 96.1. They interviewed bubba and he said defensively they need to get back to fundamentals on tackling …lol. Eleven years into coaching and the players just need fundamentals on how to tackle !?? Cmon !! What an insult to the previous players/winners at und. Don’t think the 2001 team needed fundamentals on how to tackle in game 11. Complete waste of money und is wasting on this guy as a head football coach. If the team needs to learn the fundamentals on how to tackle …well …no words. THAT fundamental staple should not have to be installed into a players psyche and will…. just a given. But I guess not at und. Question for Chavez…...can you look in the mirror and truly say ….you made the best decision for und football, und players and und fans ? Or did you make the best monetary decision? Easiest decision?

I want und to move on from the und connection. It has done absolutely nothing in the D1 era. I know you are advocating for Freund but I’m skeptical. My only positive with him is that he now has a year under his belt with a winning culture in sdsu….could that propel him in a positive direction ?? Possibly. The thing with is that he’s never experienced competency in a head coach or staff until this year. Too many years of “good enough” attitude. I just believe that his brain is wired with bad bubba influence for horrible in game decision making. I think he is an upgrade from bubba just unsure of how much ? Think he needs a good 5-10 year re-set from bubba ball to move up any higher than where he’s at now. I would like a national search. At some point und has to compete with the other Dakota schools and top 10 teams. There has to be a D2 coach that is having great success that is looking to climb the ladder. Perfectly fine with a proven d2 or NAIA coach that has a proven track record. Aka DeBoer . Nothing like what bubba had in D2 but an actual winner. Haven’t done any research so I couldn’t give a name If firing bubba tonight was a possibility I would take Freuchte. He isn’t a und connection. Yes he is the current und oc but with less than a year of the bubba influence ….my hope is that his mind hasn’t been altered to und reality. Think he has the fortitude and drive. He seems very confident and looks like he can connect with players ? Overall ….it looks like he “gets it”. Would he be the answer??? All of my opinions of course

South Dakota taking care of trash teams like Indian st 35-0 4 mins 3rd qtr. Indiana St had -2 rushing yards 129 total yards. Ass whooping again next week. Lucky for und today. Mason ….a qb for sdsu isn’t playing today but averages 10.4 carry and second leading rusher for them. Had he played they might have kicked unds ass …oh wait. .

Right on par for bubba ball. We get to witness some of the best uninspired no heart lack of confidence football on planet earth Couldn’t talk myself into going today. I was not happy in my decision and very frustrated I didn’t but the alternative on witnessing this in person was not worth it bubba showing his best for the cameras by wearing out his fingernails. Sad Und is so far removed from being a top 25 program. Not just this year but EVER!

IMO ..this photo was taken in part because the players /coaches are fed up with the entire situation and the fact that they cannot verbally speak out against it without repercussions? This was the outlet. Could this be another photo cropped or just a “timely” photo? Possibly but highly unlikely given some comments on here that seem to be fair and reasonable on the questioning of bubba and behind the scenes. In my own experience with talking to alumni that have played for bubba ….if there were negative comments …is was him not being a leader. Is this what they were referring to? Not sure but my guess is yes. *Given his track record this pic seems very plausible. Also. When people tell you to message Chavez or any other brass about your frustrations with the program …..that literally goes nowhere. This message board is mine and others only voice on our concerns. Writing or talking to someone in charge at und will not be heard. Think of how many messages, letters or verbal interactions they get/hear a month ? They can’t react on every single concern. They do what they think is best and have to live with that decision ….whether it was a horrible one or not. Then having a nobody like me speak up against it. In one ear and out the other. Money is the mover. It’s frustrating at so many levels. My love for UND football is swept aside with frustrating decisions to keep a coach thats shelf life expired 8 years ago. Yet I keep going to games and keep saying the same thing every year. That’s all I have. So I try and think how a player or coach could get their point across other than transferring out? I would guess they would be dealt with in the same manner. This person that took this photo possibly thought this was his only way …without confronting someone and having repercussions? Just my opinion.

I don’t find it hard to believe it all… not now. As a “head coach” if you’re sleeping or dosing off in a meeting what kind of message are you sending your players ? Not interested with your surroundings or simply don’t care….what else could it be? Hungover? There’s a place and time to take a nap ….and that place is most definitely not in a meeting with your players. Show some leadership ! If a player was sleeping in a meeting they would be lit up. If anyone of us fell asleep at a meeting at work how would that look ? Also…there is a reason why someone took this pic. If it was a singular moment most would let that pass. And yes…there are definitely more problems.

I had already felt bad enough for the players …now I feel worse for them after reading your posts. It truly feels like you have some insight into this program that seems very plausible and believable to go along with the recent pics. It’s bad enough for us fans to witness this train wreck but the players don’t deserve to have such an incompetent person that they have to call coach. They live this everyday! Man. What those pictures have shown/exposed is truly how selfish bubba is. He gives two shits because win or lose he is guaranteed for life. Most definitely feels like a county club atmosphere that surrounds the universities athletic programs. With the lack of winning results, frustrated fan base, frustrated players, frustrated alumni, never ending extensions and now pics showing a non involved non interested coach…..bubba and Chavez need to feel the heat! It’s almost like they are sticking their middle finger at us now. Sickening

Just read through the 3 pages. All very true. The one that stands out for me…along with all the aforementioned…was his ridiculous crying show after beating Ndsu last year!? What the hell was that?? I felt embarrassed for anyone associated with und. He beat a team at home during the regular season.That deserves tears ? Had he won a championship I possibly could understand .

Agreed We can complain all we want on this board …… I have done so nearly week for 8 years… but that goes nowhere. We are small number of diehard fans with a small voice on a message board. I think the only people with “pull” to make a change is alumni and donors. Chavez could care less what is being said on a message board but when it hits the pocket …..then and only then would he consider a change . But right now the diehards are still attending games and bubba is cheap. Money coming in added to a cheap coach =Chavez is living the dream. He feels no heat or consequences until alumni make the calls and the money starts drying up.

The extensions that Chaves has continually set in place is the culprit for this rinse and repeat program. He and bubba need to be held equally responsible. Bubba has to know he is taking advantage of und at this point . No way he doesn’t. He’s been here a decade plus. He was also here with Lennon and has seen the success at the top . He know what und is capable of. He is stuck on the bottom rung of the ladder. No movement. Just perennial stale results. He has to know he is the hindrance. He has to know he peaked here 8 years ago . He has to know und fans are sick of this BS! He has to know that he should move on. He has to know und fb is never going to compete for a championship with him . All the other Dakota and Montana schools have eyes on a championship. Bubba is trying to win a road game. Huge difference. Und is stuck in mediocre !@#$ mud. I am so f…… sick and tired of having to say the same f… thing over and over and over and over again on game day !!!

I say und has a 25% of beating Indiana ST this weekend. Why only 25%. -road game. Enough said - their qb is a runner, leads the team in rushing and he’s bigger than the Youngstowns qb. Unds defense is charming soft. Bad results to a bad team. -we have bubba Enough said Last year und had to kick a Fg with :00 to extend the game into OT against a horrible 1-11 team. It was the only time that Indiana st scored 30 points on the season. Indiana states only win last year was against 0-11 western Illinois. They were a second away from a two win season in the confines of the alerus. Indiana st is a bad team, much like last year …..but und still has bubba. Bubba has the uncanny ability to make low end teams look like a Tom Brady led New England patriots team. There is absolutely no chance that the road woes will stop now. But can they squeak by a horrible team on Saturday? Don’t bet your best tie on it. This year ….Indiana st (3-5) has scored 30 points or more just once against a 1-6 Murray st that gives 40 points/game. I believe they get their second on Saturday. Sadly I see 34-38 Indiana st victory as where this should be an absolute ass whooping by und in the 48-10 range. But we have bubba and beating a three win team is asking a little too much. Bubba is occasionally ok at beating the zero, one or two win teams in their stadiums. But a three win team ……?

I would have to guess by now even the hardiest Bubba loyalists have ran out ways to defend him? Bubba “peaked” 8 years ago. The 2015 and 2016 were the best teams under his watch. 16-7 overall record and actually won a few road games. There were plenty of head coaching blunders those two years but he was “new” so opposing coaches didn’t know at the time of how repetitive and incompetent he really was / is. They get it now. His best two teams had zero playoff wins. That has stayed true from day one. UND might be playoff bound this year? Thats only because the FCS is a watered down division that has to stitch together 24 teams to make a playoff bracket. But rest assured ! Bubba will bubba and find the best way possible not to win. Is there a more frustrating rinse and repeat program in the nation ?

My eldest niece . She is a really nice human being with und ties. Since those seem to be the top two qualifications for a UND football head coaching position I nominate her.

Did a little research on unds opponent. Not a good team. They have held onto Farley much like und has held onto bubba….but longer. Sad but true. Both are equally bad. My guess is that this will be a game that fans of both sides will be left with head scratching calls. Who will have less questionable calls should be a betting line. Anyhow. N Iowa’s offense is bad. Have only scored more than 17 once this year and that was against a non scholly team. If I was a betting man I would say they score 20 tomorrow. Only because bubba will bubba. They have two big boy RBs (6’4” 230 and 6’1” 225 ) that could expose unds smaller DL. Not necessarily HR hitters but big enough to power through for 5. Passing game is average. Nothing to sweat about….fingers crossed. Their D is average at best. STs is weak. At home. This game should not be within 3 TDs if und is truly a legit top 15ish fcs team ?Will bubba bubba this up ?

Every team is beatable regardless where the game is played. Ndsu is nothing special this year which makes Saturdays game even more frustrating. If und was competitive and still lost that’s one thing. They’re not just losing these games they’re getting embarrassed.

But he did just say last week he will look into how they’re preparing !? lol Not sure why since he’s constantly getting extensions.
